- WELCOME to the Streets Of Rage Remix drum cover mini-project!
The Streets Of Rage series has some of my favourite video game music ever
and with the release of Streets Of Rage 4, I thought it was about time to play some drums to the whole series, starting with the iconic and legendary first game.
I remixed the tracks to give them some flow and if you're a super fan of the music it might be a bit disorientating on a first listen through. It was heartbreaking chopping up the tracks, but also necessary to deliver a drum cover that wasn't 30 minutes long... if I had my way, I'd include every track because they're all fantastic but, well, hopefully you like what I've done.
It's super tricky playing along to this kind of electronic music because every single note has to be computer-precise. If your timing is even a liiiitle bit off, it immediately sounds like crap.
Which was not such a huge issue for this first game, but when I get to parts 2 and 3....well, you'll see.

Just a quick note to say thanks for the comments and I have a 4th camera on the way so hopefully a foot cam will be in place for the SOR2 cover (which btw is going to be insane!)

I would love to! The soundtrack to 4 grew on me the more I played it, and there are some nice tracks to play to.

I've got a similar lot and was going to have a go at this myself. What kit are you using, any of the built in ones or is it custom?
Hi, I used a combination of a custom TD-30 kit and a custom kit made in Superior Drummer 3. The audio from both of these go through an external mixer and are recorded into my DAW.
I would recommend playing with the 808 and 809 sounds to create your own kit, and in my SoR2 and 3 videos, I have variations of this kit to match particular sounds used in those soundtracks. Good luck with your cover!
