Yes the dust collection is pretty good. The Festool vac is pretty powerful but the other vacuum is weak. I think a larger more powerful dust collector would pick up a lot more wood chips.

well done Gilbert....that a nice jig I guess one could call it.....nice of you to collab with Lisette...I`ll check out her video 2....A new setup for me for sure....just wondering if one could automate this woodpecker table with a few CNC motors and a programable computer....just my inquisitive mind....I`m sure it can be done....CHEERS
Love the video, I had a quick question. What hardware are you using to mount your guide rails to the table in the middle of the bars? Would love to do the same on my table.
I surfaced a couple of yellow birch burl slabs on my CNC router. They were cut by a logger friend in 1969!. I only have an 4x8 machine so longer slabs have to be tiled through. I recall seeing a 220v handheld router, that would probably be nice for your jig. I usually surface both sides for stability.Perhaps getting a finish on promptly helps.
One would need a big planer for that wide slab. Most likely need 3 phase. The planer would make the slab nice and pretty but the twist would still be there. A jointer works good but I’m pretty sure that a jointer wider than 16 inch does not exist.
@@frenchriversprings Felder for one offers 20" jointers both in the Felder range and for Format4 range :) They even come as combo machines. Take a look at Manor wood on youtube. He has a felder ad951.
Yes I watch manor wood all the time. Oh wow, I thought it was 16 inch wide. But even at 20 inch it would have been a bit too narrow to do my live edge.
That was a blast!! I loved working with the router jig! Thank again Gilbert and Barry!! Can’t wait to do this again!
Yesss! For sure. And your subscribers seem to really like it. Will let you know when that slab is finished. I’m hopping by Friday.

Awesome!! Looking forward to seeing the finished product!! 😁😎
You should tie your hair back around a router.
Never seen this method.
Router sled slab hunter, came into my mind.
But im not english.
Came here from Lisette, subscribed and liked.
Its very nice to see you guys all happy and stuff ! So glad to see you all enjoying your time :D
Thanks Bryan! So nice to hear from you again. Cheers buddy!
Now that was nice. Good job all, can't wait to see finished product.
Nice setup! You can work at a comfortable height and the dust collection also seems pretty good too.

@@frenchriversprings What is the non festool dust collection rig you have there?

Yes I sure someone in robotics coul do that. Yes we had a good time Gator. Cheers!
Very cool! Thanks for taking us along !
Your welcome!

Wow!!!!! Congratulations!!!
You went from 10k to 90k
That’s amazing
Well thank you. It took me about 10 years to get there.
Going to start a channel myself after my shop gets done
Any tips ?!
Good show. This is the reason all I mill is 3 inches. It sucks for sure. I end up with at least 2 inches in the end. My circular saw cuts 2 .25.

Wow that a nice router sled!!
How big is that table??
The table is 4’ X 8’ but I added wings to make it 5’ wide.
Great job everyone! 😊👍
Thank You 🙏
Lazy to not make one more pass and get the dip out vs sanding a further dip in the table.
That jig can be improved by automation
Lizett needs to get in to the habbit of tying her hair back. Wouldn't want the star of the show getting injured.
How much does it cost?
Do you have the plans for your table
No. Sorry I don’t
Could you not do the same thing with a planer or am I missing something?
That would be one big planer.

I like the video but in some spots you aren't very loud couldn't hardly hear you
you need to micro adjust your router sled. those lines are an indication that you're like 5 thou uneven or so
Good point. Would be hard to micro adjust the way that it is made. It did sand off easily.
@@frenchriversprings I'm surprised woodpecker didn't design the cage to allow for micro adjustment with feeler gauges or dial indicators...
Nice clitbait
Lisette is so petite..!
who is flattening the blonde?
Ohh jesus... 12 years later....🤣
