Why is voting so damn complicated in the US? I literally just got a voting notification for the elections as soon as I turned old enough to vote, took that letter and my ID to the polling station designated to my area, casted my vote and that was it. I didn't even spend 5min at the polling station. Why are some people forced to wait in line for hours just to make use of their god damn right to vote?
AGREED! Why do we even have to "register" to vote?! It should be automatic! The real answer - it's a form of voter suppression. They don't want us to vote. Your country sounds like it's so much easier to vote.
@@HeyFriendsASMR that's what I fell like it is as well. You don't have to register to make use of any other right, so why do you have to register for this one? John Oliver did a piece about that last week and mentioned these practices as voter surpression. This should be illegal.

Look, the debate was horrible, I personally feel like neither one of them acted appropriately or made any good points. However, I did just re-watch the part where the moderator (I’m drawing a blank on his name) asked Trump if he was willing to denounce white supremacy and the right wing violence and all that and the first words out of his mouth were “sure, I’d be willing to say/do that.” And then he starts going on about the rest of the shit he said. I understand that he didn’t sit there and harp on the fact that he’d be willing to denounce it, but he did, in fact, say that he would. I hope I’m not coming off as angry, I’m honest to god just confused as to where this narrative is coming from because I just heard him say that he would denounce it with my own ears.
Not coming across as angry at all! I love discussions like this. So a lot of it comes from the well-documented history of Trump repeatedly refusing to condemn white supremacy. That's why it was even in this debate - because he has refused for years to denounce it. He has repeatedly beat around the bush about it (in COUNTLESS interviews) because he knows a lot of his supporters are white supremacists and doesn't want to lose their votes. So in the debate when he was asked, he said "sure" at first without listening to the full question and then said "what did you want me to say?" and pretended like he was confused, trying to play both sides so he can claim he denounced it when he really did not. This is where your confusion is coming in I believe! It's really as simple as saying "I denounce white supremacy" which they gave him multiple opportunities to do so and he refused. Then when pressed further with "Will you denounce White Supremacy" specifically, he refused and changed the subject. And then he instructed the Proud Boys to stand off and stand by. Why is he telling a White Supremacy group to "stand by"? Only a leader can say that. If the most powerful person in the country cannot CLEARLY state "I denounce White Supremacy" then he is not fit for office. That, plus his past history of many, many, many racist actions and sympathizing with white supremacists, clearly shows he would rather have their votes than protect black, brown and other minorities of this country.
Also wanted to mention that saying "Sure, I would do that" and actually doing it are two different things. Trying to dance around it gives room for his white supremacist supporters to say "See he agrees with us!" and isn't okay. This was the easiest softball question in the world. Every candidate should easily be able to say "I denounce White Supremacy" to the point it shouldn't even have to come up in a presidential debate! This isn't normal! But he's definitely conditioned us to thinking this is normal which makes it all the more confusing.
Reading your explanation, I see your point more clearly. I’m totally in agreement that he should have just said the phrase out right, then no one would be able to call him out on it. I honestly had to rewatch the clip because when I saw everyone all day talking about him not denouncing it, I couldn’t even remember the part they were talking about because from my perspective, he did and it didn’t stand out in my mind. But I totally see where you’re coming from. I guess I just have a hard time drawing conclusions like that without hard evidence and not mincing of words, but I appreciate that you took the time to respond and how cool you are about it, so thank you for that. @@thewerezatch I so appreciate the respectful and thoughtful discussion!! That's the only way we grow and learn. And sometimes words and meaning can be misconstrued over text, so I hope my responses come across as genuine and thoughtful as yours do. (after years of refusing! lol) And then seeing him tiptoe around it and not say it, whew it was just infuriating. This is what he's good at though! He's good at toeing the line. Hi Jack! Thanks for your comment. I’ve had some great discussions in the comments here with conservatives and undecideds. While I do try to spread positivity and love on this channel, life isn’t 100% positive and love. That’s not realistic unfortunately! If someone supports racism or bigotry or climate change denying, etc, I can’t spread positivity about that.
