Nice demo. I have done this quite a bit in ColdWar Servers. A recommendation that worked well for me is to enable the "autopilot" to have the Fly-by-wire keep the airplane stable (after you designate your CCRP), if the wing-cues aren't "really well leveled" then the accuracy goes down the drain. So you can use the "trim" (which in the Mirage is not a trim) to fly the plane up/down/left/right with a lot of precision. ;)
I hold the autopilot standby button (mapped on the stick) to temporary disable the AP while I align the wings indicator with the stick. After that I release the button and the AP keeps the wings level. It's very precise that way.
20:21 A good way to tell whether your bombs will drop or not: the designation pipper should have little "wings", you line those wings up with outer lines when waiting to drop the bomb. If those wings aren't on the pipper: no bomb is going to come off the aircraft.
Great video! My only regret with the Mirage 2000C is that I did not buy it sooner. My first thought when I bought the Mirage was about how limited its air to ground capability was. My second and third thoughts were that it actually is quite enough to do what needs to be done and you don't have to learn a hundred different ways to do the same thing (put warheads on foreheads). And that acceleration cue is a Godsend. It makes AAR and formation flying and all flying so so much easier. I wish every jet had it.
agreed! also about the acceneration chevrons, it's interesting to note that most european fighters seem to have adopted a similar UI. The rafale (obviousely), but also the eurofighter, and i think the gripen. it was clearly a good idea by dassault and i wiuld not be surprised if even more modern 5ghgen aircraft from new countries like korea, turkey or others, also end up with a simolar UI element.
i absolutely love this thing, it was the first jet i flew when i first started plying the game and its incredible probably the number one aircraft in the game, it can out fight anything and has some of the most effective air to ground guidance in the game, the rockets are incredibly accurate.
In addition to the possible FUZING Con-FUZION, the M2000-C uses the trigger to drop ordnance vs. the more common "pickle" button. Have come off dry many times mashing the WRONG button on the HOTAS! Nice video!
The F1 wing was also chosen in a bid to reduce the ludicrous landing speeds the mirage iii required (185 approach, 165 landing) through complicated high lift devices (slotted flaps, slats). The 2000's FBW allowed dassault to get rid of the more draggy delta profile of the III that provided classical stability, thus allowing a 30% surface increase without sacrificing top end performance and still reducing landing speeds to around 140kts.
I love the M-2000. French quirkiness and style, a bit less complex than the US F planes and a delight to fly, whether A2A or A2G. And it’s so beautiful, although I do love the look of the F-16. But that damn bingo fuel warning! It’s so OTT. It always seems to go off when I’m in the e middle of an intense dogfight or just about to release a bomb. I’ve started to switch it to a much lower amount and try to keep an eye on the fuel when I’m not busy with everything else. Which is kinda bad as it defeats the purpose but I’ve become quite good at maximum efficiency flying from the few occasions where I was too busy to manually notice I’d gone past bingo. Mind you, I’m still surprised at how far the mirage gets on less fuel, particularly after those American gas guzzlers 😁
I have been watching all your A4 videos which have helped immensely with actually hitting anything. Just hit go on the trial of the 2000c to see if I would enjoy the step up. Can you recommend any videos/guides that would bring me up to speed when the only other DCS plane I have flown is the A4? So many guides seem to only cater to those that already have a gen 4 aircraft of some type.
@@OCinneide I agree I always start with Chuck's guides when I am learning a new plane. And then, of course, I go out to the range with ammo set to unlimited and just mess about...
@@OCinneide @Sidekick65 Cheers for the recommendation! I am really enjoying flying this jet. Not over complicated for a beginner. All the systems kind of just flow. Now I am torn between the A4 and the M2000C for my DCS time.
Hah! I think it's just because I own too many DCS aircraft. And, I do own the Huey, but I have a hard enough job flying it in a straight-line to really think about making videos about attacking anything with it.
@@Sidekick65 It's actually really fun but you have to throw it around a lot. I'm always half way between breaking it and not moving it enough. Using the trimmer though helps a ton. You move the stick in some weird angle to keep it straight, then hit the trim button and it holds it at that angle. Then when you move the stick again, it moves it as if that point is the centre point. Takes a bit to get used to, but once you do, it's easy.
@@Sidekick65 ahh, it’s a pity, can’t use my setup today. But honestly it’s really simple! Just have the UI that shows your control inputs to have it really intuitive.
A note at the end, I think because of the delta configuration and how slippy the Mirage is, mil power with airbrake is good combination to keep the speed in the 360-450knots range. That's the only requirement for bomb release (other than setting the fuse right). Have plenty of power with high drag (the M2k board style brake are EXCELLENT) is essential to keep your speed correct (I found 380-ish is a good speed to have plenty of time to line up up high). Overspeed is the main reason for failure, as it is very easy to gain energy in the M2000c (other than RAZBAM goof up the fusing before March update) And I challenge any other airframe to drop iron more accurate than M2K CCRP. There, I said it :P I love the M2000c, it is simple enough for cold war stuff while competent enough to give F-16 a run for its money in the BVR arena. It's the only airframe that I can say I am competent in many role: intercept, dogfight AND mud moving, thanks to its simplistic system.

Chuck’s guides are amazing. But they’re really specific and don’t talk about doctrine.
