Classic Nixon from that era. He really did reinvent himself and had a very good mind. Incidentally, I looked it up- Washington defeated Buffalo in the 1992 Super Bowl so he was right on that too.
PS: I’m glad this was uploaded with original ads intact. Notable by its absence is the complete lack of prescription pharmaceutical ads. Such ads were still banned, and probably should have stayed that way

Interviews like this showed Nixon at his best. Brilliant analytical mind.

  • @kevinhealey6540

He probably was the most knowledgeable president that there ever was. All presidents that followed him would bring him to the White House and ask his opinion about a situation. Carter, Reagan and Bush would sneak him into the White House so that no one knew he came there. Clinton did not do that, he would bring him through the front door befitting an x president with a formal presidential greeting and meal afterwards.

Nixon was definitely a knowledgeable person who knew how to get things done, if he wasn't so corrupt he would probably be seen today as a great president

@@PhishyMomentsI view him as a great President. He is not that corrupt. Think of politics since 1992….not just presidential…he just happened to be one of the first who got caught.

Yep, to his everlasting credit, President Clinton did do that which was a bit controversial. He also did a good speech/eulogy at President Nixon's funeral. Other strengths and weaknesses aside as well as policy differences, I always thought Nixon and Clinton were at the top of the heap in terms of sheer intellect.

@@PhishyMoments You are delusional if you believe Nixon was one of the most corrupt. Dude got caught because the Press went out of their way to get him. Whereas the Press plays defense for others. I won't name names.

Larry actually was supposed to get Nixon for a third time in April 1994 to promote his new book, Beyond Peace, but Nixon suffered his fatal stroke right before he was scheduled to appear.

Come on, he interviewed Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Mandela, De Klerk, and you're suprised he "landed" Nixon? Of course Nixon was there to sell his book. Nixon "landed" a Larry King interview.

23:57, I'm watching this in 2023, broadcast 31 years ago. President Nixon knew what he was talking about. I wonder what he would think of his Republican party today. It has become too extreme, even crazy.

    • @billybob5337

Nixon would look at the Democrat party as being WAY crazier. Which it is

I don't think the Democratic party is crazier. They did not storm our capitol, try to stop a peaceful transfer of power, support Putin and Russia over America, and take GOD GIVEN FREEDOM away from the women of America to choose what to do with their own body. That is ALL Trump and the Republican party today in 2024. Do any of you have a response to that???🎤
