    This it the first video in about 20 I've watched you ACTUALLY filmed connecting the fan hub/controller into the sata + motherboard pin slots and showed location on board. All the other videos show the pin areas and talk about 5v vs 12v but never bother to film actually plugged in everything to mobo (in case on top of that). Thanks for going over the top to bottom, I was helping a friend build their first PC and building a new one myself post boxing day sales and this REALLY showed him the mapping of the mobo and how to lane cabling/find pin slots on board.
    I know its an older video, but very relevant information, high five and good vibes. Have a great 2024.

    As I have just bought a Corsair 5000D case, i looked at it and thought this could be quite a tricky build. I found your video Chris and whilst i am using different components and keeping with the fans supplied, your video was brilliant. It gave clear and precise instructions, and the installation instructions of Windows were just the icing on the cake. Well Done and thank you for taking the time to make this most welcome video.

  • @RichardTurlington

    No stupid music in the back, well articulated, and the cadence of your speaking is perfect. Very easy to follow. The only flaw I found in this video is that you did not specify at all the fan direction when installing both the AIO cooler and the Lian Li fans. The liquid cooler should draw air from inside and blow up and outward from the case. Which direction you put the fans (flipping over) determines which way air is drawn in or pushed out. This is very important and should have been covered.
    Great video though! I bought this case and you helped me figure out what the heck that SATA cable is that goes to the fan hub on the back of the motherboard mount. I also removed the internal hard drive mounts. Space was too tight for manipulating the power supply cables.

    Hi,
    A quick heads up if you plan to use the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 with the 5000D. It uses a thicker rad than most AIO's (38mm). As a result it could not be top mounted with my MSI Z490-Pro A. It would not clear the VRM heatsink, it literally came down to less than 2mm of clearance . I did manage to to mount the 360 at the front. I prefer tubes down but that was a stretch. If your AIO uses a thinner rad you will be fine. None the less I still really like the case and might change the AIO and keep the Arctic for a future build.

    • @suhben
      @suhben ปีที่แล้ว

      This comment made me realize how stupid I was for not researching into how thick the rad was before buying. My Arctic Liquid Freezer 360mm is being shipped rn. I might have to just cancel it and opt for an AIO with a slimmer rad... Pain

    • @davapod
      @davapod ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did end up top mounting it eventually by replacing the one fan that wouldn't clear the VRM heatsink on my mobo with an Arctic P12 Slim PWM PST fan (they are inexpensive). Hope this helps.

    • @suhben
      @suhben ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davapod That helps! I'm not that creative being newer to PC building. Had I saw this comment reply, I would have 100% done just as you recommended. I ended up panic ordering a DeepCool LT720 earlier this morning. So, I have 2 coolers in transit. Besides the fans, I am hearing great things about the DeepCool, so I might stick with it and send the Arctic back out of curiosity for the newer cooler

    I wouldn't have put back the filter at the top of the case, you are obstructing your AIO air exhaust. Plus exhaust fans prevent dust from getting inside much anyways...

    • @ChristopherFlannigan
      @ChristopherFlannigan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In some cases I would agree with you, but if look closely at the top you will see there is a massive hole at each side of the top panel (which itself has large holes in it) so I would regard the filter as an essential part in the top of this case. Also unless you run the fans 24hrs a day dust will get in when they are not running. Removing the filter would improve temps by 1 degree, so not worth it.

The fans on your radiator of the aio are pushing hot air outside the case ? My guess is that you have 6 fan intake and 4 exhaust fan including your aio and the fan near your video card

    Clean video. I’m using the stock fan hub since I’m not using rgb fans. Would anyone recommend using a 360 AIO on the side as intake versus the top as out? I’m guessing the side would offer cooler cpu temps but could increase the internal temps. However, with all of the fan slots being used, I wouldn’t think it would make that big of a difference.

    Nice video! Isn't too much intake air than exhaust? Usually should be a balance, eventually a little more intake than exhaust, but in your build, you have 6 fans for intake and only 4 for exhaust. And those 4 exhausts can't be considered 4 because 3 of them are on the radiator, so the air volume that passes through the radiator may be half how it is supposed to go.
    I am asking this because I have the same case, and I am trying to make the best airflow, especially for the i7 13th gen, which is pretty hot.

    But I have doubts
    The same processor an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x but with a Nvidia founders edition 3080 ti graphics card.
    It will not make me bottleneck?
    Or do you recommend another processor for that graphics card?

    Absolutely stellar video. Although you could have warned about the fingers like, 3 seconds earlier and saved me the pain of a tiny cut 😂

    What’s great is that my Gigabyte b650 aorus box didn’t come with any mounting screws or a manual 🫠so in the meantime I used 4 screws from my AIO to mount it but I still have to order screws to replace them. Home Depot didn’t have them because apparently they’re too small and uncommon for normal use

    Just a quick question because Im buying the same case. I have seen a lot of videos of this case and i cant figure it out what is the best way to install the side fans. As intake or exhaust ?

      Depends on your setup. Anything other than side radiator I would have them as intake, if you put a radiator on the side set it as exhaust

    this is probably my build, too. A corsair Airflow case with some non-corsair rgb Fans, so i don't have to mess around with the ICue Software.

    I love this build! It has been super helpful, thank you very much! For plugging the fan cluster into the cpu socket, could one do it where the fan cluster is plugged into cpu4 socket and the cpu cooler is plugged into the cpu socket?

    I can't seem to get the provided case fans to work at all. They are plugged into the pwm hub. The pwm cable of the hub is plugged into the mobo. Power also being supplied pwm hub.

    Your choices of components baffle me, you're pairing a near top end cpu with an absolute shit motherboard and you're using an woefully underpowered psu to go along with it and yet you pair an actual good cooler with your cpu even though your motherboard does not have appropriate power delivery for such a cpu, yeah no thanks downvote.

    What are the washers used for? Not sure if they are for the motherboard or fans. My motherboard still lifts up quite a bit and the screw is in as far as it will let me go

    I really want to replace my corsair fans with Lian-li fans but those are hard to find and in most cases much more expensive than the corsair fans. Cord management wit corsair is awful

    So you use only the front fans and PSU fans for intake? I'm currently ordering parts for this case and i want to use 10 fans as well.

    Does the case’s two USB 3.2 ports only use a single cable to connect to the motherboard? I only saw one in this video at around 11:47

    So there's only a need of one 3.0 gen header in your motherboard even though the 5000D has two 3.0 USB ports in it?
