@@snarkyjay he seems extremely genuine, from anything I've ever seen of his interviews and such. Just another awesome guy. He was very obviously touched by all the fan reactions to being brought back for/showing up in Kenobi and Ahsoka.
Jay, I'm 60 yrs old and grew up with comics and super heroes and I love the cons and cosplays, you do a wonderful job. My daughter and I love to go to the cons so having your dad join you is awesome. My daughter makes her own costumes and sometimes gets the grandkids dressed too if they want and it's great. My best experience was meeting and getting pictures with Stan Lee several months before he passed away and the man was a true gentleman and professional. Take care and God bless.
Attended a comicon last year in my Iron Man Mk17 Heartbreaker suit. Lots of photo ops with fans of all types. However, one moment was especially memorable. An older gentleman approached me and asked if I would take a photo with his son. I said, “Of course!” When I turned I noticed his son was a full grown man. He was special needs and this photo meant the world to him. Spent over two years working on that suit. My time suited up at the con was just over one hour due to armor pinch cutting the circulation off to my hand. However, that one photo made it all worthwhile.

The adrenaline is pumping, the person you've long admired is standing in front of you, and then all of a sudden, your brain just ninja rolls out of the back door. Briefly, way back in 1996 I was stationed in VA with the Coast Guard. I took my family to a con in Charlotte, NC. My daughters were 5 and 7. We got to meet a very young Amanda Conner and she was kind enough to pose in a picture with my daughters. Fast forward to 2015 and my oldest is still living with me here in Maine. There was an upcoming con in Boston and Amanda was going to be there. We decided to go and present her with that picture. We were first in line and she greets us and my daughter presents her with the framed picture and explains where and how it was taken. Amanda got real quiet and her partner Jimmy Palmiotti got a strange look on his face watching Amanda react. I was internally freaking out because I thought something had gone wrong??? Turns out not, but something about that touched her and Jimmy started pulling out all sorts of special swag for us. I had a published book of her artwork to get signed and she filled the entire inside cover with a message for us. It was the best experience at any con we have had.

Love this! Thanks for sharing your adventures! I love going to conventions! So many moments happen, and it's so hard to capture them all. These were great stories! There's always the good, bad, and the ugly. As they say "it can't rain all the time". I actually had the opportunity to help Ernie Hudson carry in Ghostbuster equipment at DC Awesome Con a few years ago. The coolest part is after all these years anytime I walk by his booth he still remembers me! I appreciate all your content 🙏 these are fun!
Love these "behind the scenes" stories. In particular the Padme / Anakin one was a lot of fun. (Should have left your number though)... another great Cuban saying is: para atrás?, ni para coger impulso! Meaning, don't look back, not even for motivation. Keep up the good work Prima Jay
That cat women outfit must have been bizarro level smoke show...like you couldn't even imagine the power you were playing with in that moment! Not even Troy could figure out how to handle this situation correctly
Like many folks have been saying Jay on this thread , it’s so much of a blessing when your parents (Dad) really support you in your interests and endeavors 🙏🙂👍👍
I enjoy your videos a great deal - your presentation style is honest and engaging, and you offer a glimpse into this whole world that I don't know anything about.
That's cool that you give Tootsie rolls to fans. My grandpa used to have a glass bowl full of Tootsie rolls in his living room. I always tried not eating all of them, because that would be rude for anyone else who also wanted Tootsie rolls, but it was hard because they're my favorite candy.

I love the stories!! The megacon costume was incredible. Keep getting more stories. One day when you get famous, you will tell the press how you started at Con's doing cosplay. I tell the stories of meeting Denzel Washington, talking to Alec Baldwin and Meg Ryan all the time. Keep adding more stories!!!
I used to go to karaoke A LOT in my younger days. You were better than 95 percent of people that get up there. It is nerve wracking your first few times (even after), and most people appreciate the effort. Shout out to all the Karaoke regulars I used to know, those were some of the best times of my life. (One of my most indelible memories is performing "Your Lying Eyes" by The Eagles. It was a quiet Thursday night, when a party bus full of the universities Engineering students came in and packed the dance floor, as I warbled as best I could).
@@snarkyjay You are such an amazing story teller, that even when things weren’t going great and you got sick, there is no “Oh poor me.” You bring us along and show us how amazing you are with people - the famous and the rest of us. I am curious about the “Cubans don’t stand in line” comment. I admit I know virtually nothing about Coba or it’s culture, but it would great if you could share more when (if) you find time, as you are one busy young lady. Thanks for all you do and share. 😊
Thank you Kevin! So to explain the saying- In Cuba, because of scarcity as a result of the revolution and the regime keeping goods from the people, ration cards were distributed (or you were given a pass to even be able to PURCHASE goods)- and you had to stand in lines for hours to get things. So Cuban exiles basically started the “I didn’t come from Cuba to make lines” as a joke, like they don’t want to wait in lines in the US after all the lines they made in Cuba.
I found your channel through your Acolyte reviews. You're hilarious. I'm a cosplayer as well. I love stories from cons. One of the funniest things that happened to me at our local con here in NC was when we had some of the original video game actors for Mortal Kombat 3. We had John Turk who was Unmasked Sub Zero, Lia Montelongo who was Sindel, Kerri Ann Hoskins who was Sonya, and Richard DiVizio who was the original actor for Kano, Baraka, and others. I'm cosplaying as Masked Sub Zero, and I got a photo op with all of them in the costumes they used in the video game. I'm disabled and wheelchair bound. We take an action shot with all of us in fighting poses. Then Kerri Ann says, "Let's do a funny pose. Lia, let's sit on his lap." So she was on one side, and Lia was on the other while Richard and John were standing behind me. Totally caught me off guard, and made for a really fun picture. If my face wasn't covered in that mask, it would have been bright red. lol
I met you once at a comicon. Cant remember where it was. But my daughter and I cosplay. So finding out your dad supports your passion reflects. Awesome
You’re so lucky to have a dad who supports your hobby and interests. Your stories with Troy and especially Hayden are so adorable. You look amazing in that Padme dress. Fuck that sucks you got so ill that one time. Trust me, the things that happened to you at conventions have happened to other people.
So THAT's why you disappeared at Megacon '24!!! I'm glad Pedro and I got to see you and chat before you got sick. Glad you didn't suffer any permanent ear damage. Can't wait to see you again.
Always nice to see some appreciation for Troy Baker, he has a wonderful voice & he really does an have extensive resume. In addition to Batman, he also did a remarkable job portraying Joker in Arkham Origins. Ever since Final Fantasy XIII, anytime I hear his voice in anything I know it's going to be a performance I'll enjoy. He had some great, even iconic roles in anime too when he was still going those. Anyway, that's quite the anecdote, and a really funny picture too! Also, makes me happy to see the shift with fans towards Hayden, I always enjoyed his portrayal as Anakin and never really understood the sith like hate a lot of sw fans had for him.
The thing I love about conventions is that if you go to enough you end up with a long list of unforgettable moments :) I was lucky enough to do convention security for about ten years here in the UK and met many incredible actors, directors and writers. Some were total assholes, some were amazingly warm and friendly. I have two stories, not to try and compete with Snarky at all as they probably are only meaningful to me, but ... One con was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv show event. We had most of the main cast other than Sarah Michelle Gellar. On the Saturday, between main hall talks and autograph signings, so late afternoon, I ended up in James Marsters (who played Spike) hotel room along with Anthony Head (who played Giles) watching the soccer World Cup on his tv as they both smoked weed and drank whiskey ... I hasten to add I wasn't partaking of either, but anyone who has been in a room with someone smoking weed knows that second hand inhalation still makes you get the giggles, lol. Second story is again really only memorable to me I suppose. A Stargate SG1 convention this time, we had all the main cast other than RDA who at the time didn't do cons. The year before I had been assigned to Teryl Rothery (Doctor Janet Frasier) as her security for the weekend and we really hit it off. For this event she had requested me again which I was more than happy to do. She brought her husband, a Mountie, with her and he was an amazing guy. But on the Friday afternoon as she arrives she walks in and in front of all the other staff and a lot of attendees screams my name, rushes me and throws herself into my arms, lol. I spin her and we hug and she is all smiles and so happy and I think that is possibly the most heart warming moment from a long career in security :)
Believe me, I would be the first one to tell you that I would love to meet Troy Baker because I used to love his TH-cam show that he did with Mr. North because they used to talk about playing old video games and they would play some some of the video games and stuff like that. I’ve never been to a comic book convention or a con in general I would love to go don’t have that kind of money though unfortunately and it’s a little tough being disabled, but Troy Baker would definitely be on my bucket list for sure because we fall into the same or semi same age bracket so it would just be fun to be able to have five minutes just to talk to him about old stuff. Please keep up the good work on the content. You do an amazing job.

Maybe one day I hope I will have the priveldge and honor to meet you at a con SJ, seriously I luv what you do, how you do it and that sense of messed up humor is friggan great. Power on Nina, becasue you ROCK!!!!
I’m glad I found this channel you seem like a fun person! Loved the story of Troy Baker thanks for sharing.
Aww, that sounds so cool. So glad your dad got to see that!
I’m fairly new to your channel but I love your content. Thank you for representing us Latinos in a good light, I can tell that you are proud of your heritage. Keep up the good work 🙌🏽
I love the reflection of whatever it was
Very entertaining. I haven't been to a convention for decades. It brought back memories.
They’re so fun.
Your embarrassment about "you make a good Anakin" is so cute.
Thanks for sharing "Tales of the Conventions" some of them had romance and others had germ horror. And to think , there are many more to come. Keep it up, your doing great. You never know, one of those interesting times will be on how your were discovered. .
Thank you Daniel!
Jay You Go Girl !!! The Good , the Bad , & the Ugly of it , you seem to be making the most of this adventure we call Life ✊🏾🖖🏾
Thanks Rodney!
Came here for..., stayed here for your personality. You go girl!🎉
Love the rubix cube story & wish I was there to see your facial expression & then he bust out 2 more rubix cubes but with multiple squares...haha🤣
Dudes like that live for those moments.
I was literally shocked.

Catwoman looked Amazing, definitely you need to do a Vampirella cosplay one day!!
I freakin' love your channel because you remind me of my own friends when we talk about stuff. I just moved to Florida, so I'll be looking for you at conventions in the future!
These stories are awesome! Thanks for sharing both the highs and lows of your experiences. Would definitely be interested in a series of con reviews
You got it!
I'm grateful to you for make this videos you brighten up my day all of the time
Thoroughly enjoyed this.
This binge-watching to catch up was a great idea after all.
Fun convention stories, especially the Troy and Hayden encounters.
These are fun stories. I have not that much experience with conventions,
but i have a lot of similar stories about festivals. It seem to be crazy,
everytime a crowd of people comes together.
I like your content. Wish you well for 100k subs soon 👍👍👍
Thank you!
Absolutely Love hearing about your con experiences!
Glad you like them!
Hey Jay ! Really love your Love for what you do - as a creavitve person all we're doing is living out our excitement and if other people see it thats a bonus! KEEP ROCKIN'
I appreciate that!
Absolutely LOVE this video, Snarky Jay! The Mando cosplay is 🔥 and your energy is so contagious! You really bring that Star Wars magic to life with your upbeat and fun presentation. This was such a blast to watch! 👏💥💖"
Thank you!
That’s awesome, I’ve always wanted to meet Ernie!
That was a serious roller coaster of experiences! Glad there were more good/fun experiences than there were bad!
This was really fun to watch! You have such an interesting life, and I like how much your dad and friend mean to you
Thank you!
Yes, my dad is the absolute bomb. And my best friend has been in my life so long I almost can’t imagine it without him LOL
Amen to that!
That cat women outfit must have been bizarro level smoke show...like you couldn't even imagine the power you were playing with in that moment!
Not even Troy could figure out how to handle this situation correctly
Snarky those stories goes from happy to creepy and weird all at the same time.😄😄
That’s how cons go. 😂
@@snarkyjay 😄😄
Lucky, awesome, and hot. Snarky is just the coolest.
"You make a great Anakin" 😂😂
Like many folks have been saying Jay on this thread , it’s so much of a blessing when your parents (Dad) really support you in your interests and endeavors 🙏🙂👍👍
I enjoy your videos a great deal - your presentation style is honest and engaging, and you offer a glimpse into this whole world that I don't know anything about.
I love how genuine you are. I really feel like I'm sitting with a friend just hanging out
That is literally the best thing you could say, thank you David!
@@snarkyjay you are very welcome. I'm so glad I found your content. It's one of the best things about my day.
Another brilliant video Snarkyjay ❤❤😁😁.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@snarkyjay Thank you so much.
Great video👍🏼 btw the glare from the window cracked me up 😂 made my day. Also we share similar quotes because I’m from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 ☺️
Love that!
That's cool that you give Tootsie rolls to fans. My grandpa used to have a glass bowl full of Tootsie rolls in his living room. I always tried not eating all of them, because that would be rude for anyone else who also wanted Tootsie rolls, but it was hard because they're my favorite candy.
It’s either those, Werther’s Originals, or mints.. 😂
@@snarkyjay My sister and my niece like Werther's Originals and mints.
Loved the stories, sounds like you have had some great adventures. Recently found your channel and have been enjoying the videos, earned yourself a sub!
I Love your Post lol. Dude almost got you with the Thigh Head Scam !!! lol
Momma didn’t raise a dummy. 😂
Hahaha 😂😂😂so much fun with that whip. Trevor is an awesome guy hey ! ❤❤❤
SnarkyJay. You are amazing! You have no idea. Keep being you as you are amazing at the job. Love your content. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
I love listening to con stories from other cosplayers! There's nothing like going to a con and going out with some of the best experiences ever. 😌 I really love getting to meet all kinds of new friends and also getting to meet friends that I've known online for years IRL! Great video, and I hope to have the chance to meet in person one day! ❤
This was one of my favorite videos you posted. Thank you for sharing your experiences! 🤘🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
The stories are great, I'm really sorry you got sick, but the stories are amazing! I'd love to see the vlogs.
Really enjoyed the behind the curtain normal life videos. So many awesome memories u got to experience. Always weird to see the people we watch out in public settings & not behind the normal camera lens. Also absolutely love the lightening in your videos. Been trying to figure out how u do it forever. Thumbnails are also fire keep up the great work👍
Cool stories, yes I enjoyed them, and a convention vlog would be cool. I really like both the Troy and Hayden stories.
Glad you enjoyed!
"I need a little salt and fat to put me back on the map"... ROFLMAO! Well said!
I hope so!
Your Dad sounds like a man to aspire to. Nice singing voice!
Thanks for sharing the great, the weird and the wonderful of your experiences. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
So to explain the saying-
In Cuba, because of scarcity as a result of the revolution and the regime keeping goods from the people, ration cards were distributed (or you were given a pass to even be able to PURCHASE goods)- and you had to stand in lines for hours to get things.
So Cuban exiles basically started the “I didn’t come from Cuba to make lines” as a joke, like they don’t want to wait in lines in the US after all the lines they made in Cuba.
Thanks for filling in the background for me Jay.
14:40 looked so much like Fairuza Balk from "The Craft".
As a recent sub, this one was easily my favorite. Many, many thanks.
Awesome, thank you!
Awesome
That was a wild ride... thank you for sharing 😆
thank you for sharing these stories with us, they are pretty cool 👍🏼
Glad you like them!
The world would crack open if shoe on head and snarky jay got it on. Mother of all of the gods
So THAT's why you disappeared at Megacon '24!!! I'm glad Pedro and I got to see you and chat before you got sick. Glad you didn't suffer any permanent ear damage. Can't wait to see you again.
Yes! I had to dip early in the morning Saturday, it was rough. Definitely catch you at the next one!
singing like many things I'm terrible at but still enjoy. in fact most things I like to do the most are things I'm horrible at. 🤣
I remember how bummed you seemed when you posted you got sick and couldnt go to the con, on instagram. Great video, keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
The way Jay talks is magic🎉
Con vlogs sound great! Ever make out to cali for SDCC? That would be a new high/low when it comes to con stories!
Best video yet! Thank you for sharing your stories!
Lmao...you beautiful fool...lmao ya had him in the palm of your hand and let Vader go!!!!! NOOOOOO!!! Lmao.
More of this please......bless up Snarky Jay....🤙
Aaaaaaaw, the Catwoman cosplay is rockin' gurl 🍻
My absolute favorite. 😂
@@snarkyjay Yas queen ✊🏼👑 ✨
One of the sexist Catwoman cosplay out here. Do you have the purple one like in the comics?
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing those stories!
@@snarkyjayThank you for sharing yours :) Maybe you could make it a regular thing? I am sure you have dozens more :D
I don't blame "sitting on my shoulders picture" guy for asking for the pic he wanted, but I do blame him for asking twice.
"Snarky Jay's Rules for How to Treat Cosplayers at Conventions"
That would be an interesting one actually!
These sound like war stories but in most hilarious ways. Glad you had fun adventures. I’d like to see more vlogs, you’ve got a really funny way of telling stories.
