Thank you for enjoying our local destination Tom sauk has been one of those places I've grown up with and have enjoyed many many times it's good to see somebody else enjoy it that's not used to the area
I live in Missouri and have never even heard of this park! I love hiking too so I'll definitely have to check it out. Your channel is very unique and gives me lots of hiking inspiration! Just subscribed 😊
Thank you for subscribing! Taum Sauk is a great park, plus there are two other state parks close to it that also warrant checking out, Elephant Rocks and Johnsons Shut Ins.
Mina Sauk Falls doesn't film well or more accurately, I didn't do it any justice in my attempt. It actually has several drops to it but since it is a very reliant on the amount of precipitation available it means that if you go during a dry stretch you may be disappointed. Best visited in a rainy spring for full effect.
Been there, hiked that. 😁 In fact, it is only about an hour and a half (or so) from where I live. It is a beautiful area. It is best to visit in the spring or fall as the summers in Missouri are quite steamy and the bugs plentiful.
My wife's grandmother and aunt live down in Bloomfield so I've managed to get up to Ironton a few times to explore. You're right in that it's a beautiful area. There is a bunch more I have yet to check out up there.
We live just outside of Bloomfield. I have lived here most of my life. My husband is from Southern CA and AZ - he is not impressed with the weather here. lol
Thanks! This one may get a "Director's Cut" at some point including both of those locations. My wife's relation live down in Bloomfield so I get over there a few times a year.
By that measure the WTC stands twice as tall as the states of Rhode Island and Mississippi, and over three times taller than all of Louisiana! That said the St. Francois Mountains and the Ozark Highlands are some of the best hiking in Missouri!
Nice video! Thanks.
Thanks for stopping in, glad you enjoyed it!
The O.T. goes right through Taum Sauk which I cherished. Quite a few lighting strikes to many Trees on Taum Sauk as I recall circa 2008.
It's a beautiful area. I'm hoping to get back there this year or next and expand on the original episode..
Another great place to visit not far away is Elephant Rock and Johnson Shut in State Parks.
Great recommendation! When I eventually get back to Missouri to re-film this episode I plan on including both of those locations. Cheers!

I actually am looking forward to getting back there and exploring further. There were a few places I wish I would have checked out.
Great video
Thanks!

I backpacked The Ozark Trail (half) which goes right through Taum Sauk Mt. Great Trail, people and harder on my ankles than no where else.
going here tomorrow. #33
update, went there. the falls was nearly bone dry, and the horse flys were swarming. but some nice views and a humble peak.
It's an interesting area, but the peak itself is perhaps the least interesting thing.
2:33! Is that it? So much for Misouri's Highest/Tallest waterfalls!

Very professionally done. Great job. I've been there as well. If you ever make it back check out Johnson Shut-ins and Elephant Rocks which are close.
I have a video on Johnson Shut-ins you should check out.

Great video!!! I can't wait to snag this highpoint!
Thanks! Season one continues till 31 Dec! Updates every 1st and 15th!
Taum Saulk mountain the highest point in the State of Missouri and it's right in the Ozarks in Southeast Missouri.
The St. Francois Mountains have some cool hiking trails. I'm looking forward to going back there again in the near future.
Rooftops of America Sounds awesome man I'm glad you've enjoyed the Ozarks.
If you get a chance check out my Magazine Mountain, Arkansas episode as well!
Rooftops of America Alright thanks man.
@@CJColvin The rooftop of America is actually the Colorado Rockies!!!!!
Mount Katahdin will be one of the Maine events
Skye, what month was it when you visited Taum Sauk?
This was in July 2016 when we filmed this.
Attention! New York City's World Trade Center stands even taller than poor ole Tawm Sauk Mountain!!!!
Yeah by only 4 inches.

@@RooftopsofAmerica They sure are brother.
Technically, it's a part of the Ozarks, but many of the peaks of the Ozarks in Arkansas are higher!
