As someone who works in mental health, I’ve heard a loooot of shady stuff about Better Help
Yeahh objectively they must be paying the TH-camrs A LOT to be promoting that hellscape of grifting nonsense.
Nobody should have a subscription
aren't they like not real therapists or something?
I tried it and it was horrible
What things have you heard? Feels like these TH-camrs will take any sponsorship. Kind of wished they actually used the product or tried it & liked it before promoting them

Or you can get yt vanced or new pipe with sponsor block.
If he calls it a review then it means he likes it 😂
No point in even watching the video 😂🤣🤧🔥
@@Chadsolderbrotherbrad1111yet here you are.
You're a hero
Better help is a company that sold confidential user information and was fined for it. I don’t feel like they should be promoted as a company
to make it even more insulting he almost certainly pumps these half-baked reviews out just to include long sponsor segments at the start
@@747lch I always skip the sponsors.
They also had therapists that lacked training, there's a Channel4 docus expose on it
@@sarahharris2729 That's pretty sad because I see their advertisements everywhere.

I understand you have to pay the bills but I would maybe drop Better Help as a sponsor for the reasons others have already commented.
He's a reviewer who refuses to give criticism. Why would you think that he would listen to your criticism of him?
@@dr.wolfstar1765 As you said, he is a reviewer, not a critic. I don't like him promoting better help, but I also don't agree with viewers telling someone how they should review media. You can just watch someone else. Yet, here you are. Hate watching because if there is one thing that is certainly pathetic in this scenario, it is you. Strange, though, since he does criticize parts of this movie. You know you can give valid criticism without tearing something down, right? Yeah, probably not, you probably think Men are kings and women are kitchen pets. God is dead, and we should all worship Trump like Jesus. Because no normal people think they have a right to tell others how to do their job, when they know damn well they couldn't begin to do said job.
@@dr.wolfstar1765 Is he even a reviewer ?

Chris is woke...so that helps explain his deaf ears.
If toxic people are going to be in relationships, I’d rather see them with other toxic people instead of narcissists being with empaths and gaslighting them.

I think that’s why I could enjoy this movie a lot more & didn’t feel so weird about it 😂 but I def clocked the toxicity too 😅

Yeah they all suck
Better help is terrible to the point you seem shady by sponsoring them.

Also the company was founded by an ex IDF commander who has openly called for a genocide.
After all Chris does not reviews movies adequately anymore but jist movies he supposedly likes hence he must do whatever reviews just to keep the channel running HENCE he's totally not trustworthy anymlre no matter if ralkimg about movies or whatever. Raycon - please, just no
Meal prep - just buy a crockpot for $30 and you're good to go

The film score almost steals the show, and credit Reznor and Ross, they are putting some of the best scores over the past several years. This film is special. I’ve seen it twice and it’s just a well crafted and acted film.
Also, Artie is not toxic.
@@brackster I would say his younger self definitely is
I love when the score simply screams "Trent Reznor" it just needed a Nine Inch Nails song to highlight an aggressive moment to be perfect!
The score was the worst part of this movie by far, that techno was dumb and would pop up at illogical times at least half of the time

The problem with toxic relationships in drama movies isn't that they exist, it's that they get romanticized and portrayed as desirable. Not all the time, but often enough.
That's literally with every single thing in existence, something bad/awful gets romanticize
If only people had the slightest of judgement and knew that no matter how romanticized a toxic thing is on a movie, it's still a FUCKING MOVIE.
Why can’t people handle nuance? Movies don’t have to be binary just like life. It’s like in Trainspotting or in gangster movies. Yeah drugs and mafia bad but the lifestyle brings some joy to the participants otherwise they wouldn’t be tempted by it. Same thing with toxic relationships. There’s going to be some aspect that attracts character. It’s not endorsing it’s just depicting.
@@shinycheeto5779 I can handle the nuance, and I can reality isn't (and shouldn't be) like the movies, but I've seen my fair share of women fantasizing about being with clearly shitty male characters just cuz the movie depicted it as hot and fun and whatnot. I'm sure it happens to guys too, who look for women like they see them in these sort of movies. Either way, I'm not saying every movie's like this 😅
Just movies like 50 shades or twilight for example.
It needs to be said. The way people were responding to the marketing had me feeling uncomfortable. I really do not like the ‘yass queen’ response to toxic women.
"My Dinner with Andre" featured two people who got along and went for coffee and I loved it.
But that is not what the movie was about. It was about their stories and conversation.
There was some tension and conflict within their conversations. That’s what made the film interesting. Otherwise you can pick any two random people in a diner and film them for an hour, and see if you get anything watchable.
Yep. Before Sunrise was two people walking and talking and it's my all time #1 favorite romance.
@@BrianBridgesBut there was also tension in that as well. And both characters had some toxic traits.
I would have never thought that the Potion Seller would one day write a screenplay for an Oscar-nominated filmmaker like Luca Guadagnino
Did you know he's also married to Celine Song, who directed Past Lives? 😂

DO NOT USE BETTER HELP! THEY ARE NOT BOARD CERTIFIED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!!!
I don't think toxic relationships are needed for romance like action is for action movies. The conflict in a story can come from outside as well as inside normal relationships. Toxic relationships are too often normalized.
Agreed! Especially these days where a lot of relationships today are as toxic as the ones in this movie. That being said I disagree with Chris when he says "it's just a movie, it's not real". You also don't need to have all the characters being toxic in order to create drama in a romance movie. Since all 3 of these characters were unlikable I didn't have anyone to root for, nor did I care too much on the what the outcome will be.
Zendaya's daughter??!?! For some reason, I can't picture her playing as a Mom. I think I've watched too much Euphoria & Spiderman. Lol
And Shake it up 😂
You have cause she is literally 27 about to be 28 dude. She can portray a mom.

I have been a fan of Mike Faist for 12 years and I am SO HAPPY everyone is finally realizing he is an amazing actor. Hope he has a great career!

it feels so surreal how a man who started out in a minor role in newsies & spent a decade on broadway is now costarring with zendaya, that's a very rare career leap
He was incredible in The West Side story...very talented guy
@darkunicorn1203 I hope Faist gets cast as Swan in the Upcoming Broadway Musical of 'The Warriors'.
@@eamonndeane587lol ok I'm I reading this right? Or did you just say there having musical based on the movie the warriors?
Why do so many people want reviews for bad movies? I'd rather focus on the ones that are interesting or worth my time.
I don't care for joining hate trains for movies I won't even watch.
I'm all for Chris' format, personally.
There are plenty of reviewers out there to choose from when it comes to dunking on films
Literally like I wouldve never thought to go see this movie bc i thought it was just gonna be twitter bait but now hes peaked my interest for it
i'm fine with his format and also like when he reviews bad movies (but we still have RLM for that)
it's annoying because he's a critic who is literally not doing his job; critiquing things. i don't know why he's suddenly unaware of the fact that you can criticise someone's films fairly without personally attacking them. art deserves to be analysed and discussed in a critical light
@@nagi159 I mean he still id critiquing he just doesnt want to do it in a negative way bc hes seen the other side. Plus theres tons of other videos who do critiques of films. But i do get where ur coming from since his opinion is valid a lot of the time
Yeah this was me at the start of his transition but I’ve gotten over it now. Now I see his reviews as a curated selection of films that are worth seeing in theatres and I’m all for it.
Chris, I know they probably pay well, but please stop accepting Better Help sponsors
Please Chris, drop the BetterHelp sponsor ASAP!
About the loud soundtrack… from the recent GQ interview with Reznor and Ross: “Then Guadagnino brought them Challengers, which will be released this month. Reznor said, “He started us down a path, saying, ‘What if it was very loud techno music through the whole film?’ ” (This is exactly what it turned out to be.)”
“I wish I had his notes,” Ross said of Guadagnino. “His notes were so fucking funny on what each piece was meant to do.”
“Oh, yeah,” Reznor said. “ ‘Unending homoerotic desire.’ It was all a variation on those three words.”
oh this is interesting. will look up article. I definitely agreed with Chris on the music though
For me it was a through back to like old sega Dreamcast style tennis games . Seemed like the tracks could be ripped from a title screen.
The criticism is still in his reviews, if you actually pay attention. Just because he doesn’t give grades now doesn’t mean he’s soft on movies.
My main reason for watching this movie is the score by Rez & Ross.
Remember when actresses used to consider being asked to play a mom was, like, the *greatest* insult? Rachel Weiss declined the 3rd Mummy movie cause of it. Meanwhile here's Zendaya at 26😂
Huh? She was in Mummy 2 where she has a son that basically drove the whole plot.
Damn, called Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score "late 90s techno." Shots fired...
Yes their more industrial rock
It's just another cash grab for them. THey're not even trying.
That album is awesome though. ‘Challengers’ is such a club song. Kind of reminds me when Catwoman is walking at the club in The Batman
that soundtrack is going to be alll over the clubs this summer, it's actually great

I think the daughter was in the film to show that Art actually cared about he and Tashi's marraige/what it made.
**Spoiler warning, since I saw an advanced screening**
There's a subtle detail about Tashi's daughter. Tashi says "our daughter" while talking to Patrick, but it is vague whether she is referring to Art or Patrick as the father! I noticed the girl had curly black hair, but it's Patrick who has that hair texture.
True but Tashi’s dad is black so it’s reasonable to infer the daughter’s dark, coily hair probably comes from her, and that she relaxes or straightens and dyes her own hair.
Like, fair point, BUT I don’t think the timeline of any liaison - or, at least, any known liaison - between Tashi and Patrick would line up with the daughter’s age. Iirc the daughter would’ve been already born by the time Atlanta happened. And while it’s possible the daughter was conceived during a tryst between the two that is neither shown nor hinted at, I think that’d be a lot of leaps for the audience to be expected to make. Just my two cents!
Ain’t that deep
Chris makes 5-6 min videos and two mins are ads
Are you going to review Late Night with the Devil?
Never work with Better Help again, man. Really disappointing to see.
crazy that betterhelp is still around after all those controversies
I trust chris, I don't trust better help, I don't believe Chris is fully aware or following what better help has done in its past. Personally don't think we should go so hard on him. Hopefully he'll find out soon. With 2m subs i'm sure he has options and will forget about Better Help.
A smart man like him has to know.
All I can say is that the trailer for this film told me this movie wasn't for me.
Figured I'd jump in here to see if my perceptions were wrong. Nope.
just me & you haha
The trailer was awful. Was like a bad episode of melrose place.
I think the child symbolizes Art wanting to end his career and to devote himself to his daughter, even though they rarely, or maybe never spoke, in that movie, but that's because he has to focused on his career, or at least Tashi leads him to. I noticed this when Tashi was back at the hotel and can't find Art his their bedroom, instead he's sleeping with his daughter.
That kid is 100% Patrick’s. The amount of time she cheats on Art, poor guy
WTF more comments about better help than the movie. Movie was insane. Zendaya was smoking hot and such a bitch. OMG. I’ve never wanted to play tennis in my life as I do now. What a riveting film lol
First of all, I can’t believe y’all didn’t realize that’s Patrick’s daughter. I think the point of the daughter was to show that Tashi cheated in Atlanta and got pregnant. The daughter having jet black hair (like Patrick) is a dead giveaway. Art has blonde/red hair.
you’re reaching but makes for an interesting story for sure. i do think that’s art’s daughter. she wasn’t as relevant to the story to overthink it.
I think she just looks like her mother, If she was Patrick's daughter ,he would be suspicious and use her to be include and be close to Art and Tashi, something he really wanted ,but he never did it. The same with Art and Tashi, they aren't worried about her at all or Patrick discovering something.
Great video Chris. Thank you.
I heard Trent Reznor talk about how the director basically wanted wall to wall techno through the whole movie.

Luca's Suspiria is fantastic
The Soundtrack is composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and the director actually wanted them to create music, so that you basically can dance through the whole movie. So I guess the aggressive tracks are supposed to be that way. Didn't watch the movie yet, so I can't really tell, if it's that distracting. Just for some background info. (Source: GQ Interview with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross)
Yeah do a dive into the “90-s techno score”. It’s actually made by a legendary musician Trent Reznor front man of Nine Inch Nails. As important as the cast. He won’t just do soundtracks for any movie.

these in video sponsors are perfect for the movies Chris is reviewing
first world war 3 for civil war
now better help for a love triangle movie
Putting a toxic relationship in a movie is fine as long as it's not presented in a way that makes it seem as though this is how relationships should be. The problem is you get all these young impressionable teens thinking this is ok and healthy to be treated this way and that it's not even toxic at all.
Just saw it and it's a bromance love triangle drama with depictions of tennis. I thought the angle of being the ball was fun like they placed a go pro in the ball while hit it but otherwise I couldn't understand points as they happened hahaha and I guess the point of the movie wasn't to see the matches like watching an ATP tourney. But it 100% captured the feeling I have as a tennis player while playing matches, the frustrations the subtle mind games that we as players put on ourselves not even about the person on the other side. Good mix of all would watch it once as I couldn't stand the toxicity of the 3 main characters. 😂
"EARN THAT PAYCHECK TYRESE!"
"Wimbledon" with Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany, who actually has a tennis background, is also a good (not great) tennis movie.....check it out. Stuckmann complains somewhat of the soundtrack but I tell you what....I'm in with anything Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (David Fincher stalwarts) touches regarding the score.

Stop clicking on the better help link so chris doesn't earn anything from affliates and eventually will realise not to use this sponsor.
I think that there’s a pretty big difference between twilight’s romance and Challengers’ romance. Twilight’s romance is heavily romanticized and ignores the red flags while this movie makes it pretty clear that the relationship between all three of these characters is awful. At no point did I feel like the movie was trying to say that any of the relationships were good for the characters.
Agree with some of your points on toxic romances in movies though. I think there’s a difference between watching a toxic relationship onscreen and finding the turmoil interesting and endorsing and encouraging one in real life. Also agree with your point about some romances aging poorly with the times because that is a thing with a lot of older romance movies.
I cannot wait for this!!
Just saw it. Boy this movie is crazy on the relationship side
I'll give this film a go when it shows up (Nes Manga)
For the sake of entertainment toxicity in a relationship is just about necessity, unless the relationship isn't a main focal point.
If johnny is discovering his super powers, and his spouse supports him, then its alright because the focus is about Johnny, exploring his powers, the tribulations involved in that.
Though, another perspective could be, Johnny is discovering he has powers, and the focus is about how its affecting those around him, in which, his spouse isn't supportive, they start to become distant and eventually come out as a anti-superhero/anti-mutant.
What are you talking about?
