Funnily enough, the "Oh, he speaks" part coincides with my class studying King Louis the 14th, who had the nobles serve him for a few days before he would listen to their request. I could absolutely see him saying this to Lord Something-or-other if that Lord spoke on their own accord. Also, the repeated use of "hatchling" implies that the wizard closely works (or his culture closely works) with eggs.
To be honest, Benjamin disappoints me rather assessing the situation at hand and asking questions he let his anger control him which I understand is part of his character but it pisses me off at little bit but overall great series
To be fair, the first priority is the Princess's safety. Asking questions can be done afterwards. Though, I do think that having the guards restrain him and then immediately asking him questions would be a better move than having him sent away before questioning.
Benjamin should ask questions before making assumptions what he did there was uncalled for and is not very smart of him being manipulated to think may would have hurt the princess like can you wait for him to SPEAK BEFORE MAKING AN ASSUMPTION? Jeez i hope may can get to talk about the situation or the princess can confirm he didnt do anything wrong. I feel really bad for may ;-; (im saying may because i forgot how to type out the name lol)
