    @16:57 that George Washington statue is very rare and expensive. I did my PHD doctrine on the artist who hand carved these figurines back in the late 1700s hope you saved it, as I am 100% sure what i am looking at in your hands

    At 18:11 that’s a cool red Marlboro duffel bag your friend found. Probably the oldest item on the beach

    Use the Weather Channel to spot the big winter storms and Google to find the low tide times. There's two low tides every day.

    To me, Dead Horse Bay is a one of a kind/completely unique place in the world. Can anyone offer any other one of a kind places in the world and explain to us why you consider it to be unique? Your justification doesn't have to be historical, it could be personal.

      @@MetalDetectingNYC I was just at La Brea two days ago. It would be right up there with DHB if it was open to public excavation! Absolutely worth the visit, though - it's a scavenger's paradise.

      David Markel wow I have never heard of it until now when you and Tim mentioned it. That was the case with DHB until two months ago. I’m going to look in to it. It amazes me how many fascinating places fly under the radar!

      Metal Detecting NYC I started collecting and detecting this about two years ago. My aunt who lives in Maryland says that in one of the large streams (not quit a river) all the items that were swept away during the Ellicott city flood all got washed to this river. I am going there this summer in addition to dead horse

    All of the time and energy used to create those objects is still there, inside of them, waiting to once again see the light of day.

    I wonder if a floating sieve made of door screen mesh and some zip ties on a pool noodle would be an effective way of mudlarking there. Throw a wheelbarrow in your Jeep and start shovelling.... a different approach.

    What is a bale seal? What was it used for?

    • @IndianaTones
      @IndianaTones 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When cargo ships dropped off items in burlap bags they had seals on them to ensure they weren’t tampered with.

      I think premieres are more fun than regular uploads. Its like cooking a meal and you get to read the initial thoughts of the quality, good or bad.

      Premieres are better - they allow you to interact with live audience chat, and it builds anticipation for the video, and builds audience!
