Around 1972 or 1973 I met a big Chinese guy at Highline Community College who studied with these folks. Nice fellow. Very competent.
Years later, around 87 or so, a business friend studied with these folks. His last name was Dander. Very nice fellow. Also highly competent.
Lastly there is the Issaquah Kung Fu Club. Yohan was a student of DeMille. Highly competent and also very nice.
Not many left of this era.

I've heard of Sifu Yohan from the recent podcasts from Sifu Alex Richter (has the "Kungfu Genius" youtube channel). Alex was a student of Sifu Yohan and gives him huge praise to this day.
It blows my mind that so many ignorant trolls on the internet today slander true martial artists like Mr. Demile, Jesse Glover and Yohan. They have no idea how skilled Bruce Lee's Seattle students were.

This is listed as aikijujutsu, not aikijutsu. According to the Takeda Den of Daito ryu Aikijujutsu in Abashiri, Hokkaido, Aikijutsu is not involving strikes. I'm familiar with the group, and have been to Hokkaido, and Abashiri, a number of times. Aikijutsu is a subset art within the Daito ryu Aikijujutsu system focusing on trapping & joint locking techniques while under the principle of aiki. Aikijujutsu though is a composite martial system incorporating a number of overlapping contexts. One of those is "atemi" (ate=percussion, mi=body), and the system uses a number of strikes where kyusho jutsu & the principle of aiki are present. So, yes strikes are congruent to the term aikijujutsu.

You're right alot of southern base or Hakka styles do use this punch, but Bruce Lee did develop the punch so that he could use it,I think you're trying to say he didn't invent it.No he didn't.

Bruce wasn’t taught the punch. He saw it from different arts & with Jim reverse engineered how they thought the punch worked - creating their own method. They never claimed to have invented the concept of a close punch.

I really think that punch is a BS, the physics behind it is a BS and the logic he gave about it is also a BS. You need to rethink how the punch should be.

@@laurencelance586 The way he executed that punch is totally wrong. If you don't believe it, ask him to execute that punch on a surface of a hard wall and see that he will not be able to execute it hard. However, if he does execute it hard on that surface, he will break his two lower knuckles. Punches in martial arts are not executed with the lower knuckles; we are not boxers. A true martial artist will execute that punch in the correct way using the two upper knuckles and will not use his body weight to push his opponent. I have been punch 1000s times. If that is the way he executes his punch, I am not too worried about it.
