Thanks, helps a lot. I'm wrapping up my Rotor CFI in a couple weeks. Been a fixed wing (CFI, CFII, MEI) for 20+ years. This is a whole different ballgame.
Thank you again for posting these series of videos. It is great to see how to talk through beginning pilot errors. I am a few flights into my CFI course and your videos are a huge help. Looking forward to seeing more videos as you have progressed as a instructor. Thanks again!
Hey thanks Brian. Good luck in your training, just keep working on talking through everything while maintaining precise control of the aircraft. Best advice I can give new instructors is to try and come away from the controls enough for the student can get a full feel for how to fly without you there. Obviously keep it safe and don't fully trust anybody that you're teaching. Always be ready and alert, especially the closer you are to the ground.
💔 I'm going to miss this series 😓, good work mate I really enjoyed watching every one of your videos when you posted them. keep up the good work and fly safe
Thanks Max! Trust me, it'll be even more interesting now that I've got some experience under my belt. I've got a lot of good flights already recorded in the queue for release.
"I've been staring at the instrument panel since takeoff..." not gonna lie if a new student did that and kept a somewhere normal attitude I would be impressed 🤣
Great, these videos are super helpful for my training! I just wish you uploaded more :D Sorry to complain, I completely understand that these videos are probably quite difficult to put together.
Hey thanks man! Don't worry, some of the ones I've recorded with students are pretty good. Even this schedule is a real struggle to get the videos out on time. I instruct 6 days a week and fly around 70 flight hours a month. We're slammed at my flight school.
I am sure the videos with the students will be very interesting. I look forward to watching them. And it's good to hear that you are building up a lot of hours!
I look forward when one day you're the "student" teaching a prospective instructor, manhandling the cyclic and fighting the instructor while on the lowside of an autorotation. That'll make a great vid :P
“Ive been looking at the instruments since take off “🤣😆
Thank you for the content man 🙏🙏🙏 I am currently building hours to start a flight instructor course. This is gold!
These are by far the best videos. Please make more of these where the "instructor" is the student.
I'm going to miss these Ian-in-training-with-Brian videos. They've been fun, interesting, and informative to watch.
Aww don't worry! I've got a few students that I joke around with that will be some fun videos coming up.
Awesome video. Very informative.

It's definitely some of the most fun you can have as a flight instructor.
Haha, at first I thought the black shirt was a real student. When he was checking out the house I was thinking he would never be a pilot!
I'm gonna go around those houses...Lol
Can we get a better angle on the feet & pedal situation from the ober head shot? Maybe even some hand & stick movement. Fish👁eye maybe? Yes. Yes😀
Thanks Ian...I'll be a better xplane pilot because of your videos
Flight instructors are under paid.
