    Thank you, thank you, thank you for normalising something that should be Normal and spoken about about more . It's because of watching your first ever video about the menopause that made me think that yes I needed to see my GP about my symptoms and I got the help that I needed and now I shout it from the rooftops for all to hear .
    We should never have to struggle in silence. We are a sisterhood and should always work together to help each other out when we can so THANK YOU again.
    You do not realise quite how much you are doing to help women so keep up the good work and thank you.

    Your granddaughters are adorable! You are so right that menopause is not a subject of conversation. There are so many changes in our body when the menses cease. Not only physically but emotionally. Proper therapy for both are very important to age gracefully. It is a time that spouses, partners need to be aware and help with the adjustment. Grieving is also something to think about. We do lose our identity physically and emotionally and we will grieve who we once were and try to accept who we are presently.

    Thank you so much for talking about perimenopause. I'm 46, had my oldest son at 23 so maybe their is some correlation to age at motherhood and onset of perimenopause. I've been struggling a lot in the last 6 months with so many symptoms. Weight gain, bloating/constipation, mood swings, fatigue etc... And I still have two young children, I'm so guilty ridden that they have an old mom that is struggling to keep it together 🥺. I know I'm not alone in this but I want to make it better for them.

    • @mrs_leanne_jones
      @mrs_leanne_jones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bless you. Don’t ever feel guilty, you are exactly who God intended you to be for your family. These hormones are wild and literally affect everything, so until we get them balanced/replaced we can’t possibly be 100%
      We put far too much pressure on ourselves, we need to allow ourselves a little grace.
      I definitely think that they could be a link somewhere but I also don’t think that it’s early for perimenopause.
      You will be in my prayers (my inbox is always open ❤️)

    I've got a doctor's appointment today to discuss HRT. I never wanted to go on it, but I'm still, after 20 years, suffering with what could be symptoms of the menopause. I was 38 when my menopause started. I assumed I'd suffer for a few years and then be completely fine! It's only now that I've been talking with friends and colleagues, and listening to people such as yourself, that I'm suddenly realising it doesn't necessarily get better with time... that your body is still being depleted of those vital hormones. I didn't realise that all the aches and pains, the fatigue and the poor sleep could all be down to loss of oestrogen. I feel like I have the body of an 80 year old. I've been thinking for the longest time that I've got Fibromyalgia and I just need to get on with it. I've been back and for the doctors for years with symptoms of pain and chronic fatigue, feeling like a hypochondriac at times, and no one has ever said it could be the menopause causing it. I was diagnosed with depression in the very beginning, as my mood swings were unreal, then after years of tests to rule other things out I was told I probably had Fibromyalgia!
    I've only become aware in the last month that are body identical hormones, and having now read up on them I feel happier to try HRT. I'm just hoping this doctor I'm seeing today will prescribe them for me. I'm so fed up with feeling drained and exhausted and having no energy to do anything.
    Anyway thanks for bringing awareness to the subject Leanne. It's really important. Some of us, and I'm talking about me here, have been blinkered or have been misled by professionals. And I agree with you it should be part of their training. Women make up 51% of the population in the UK, according to the 2021 census, and as you rightly say it's going to affect every single one of us. Let's hope things start to improve xx 🙏🏻💖

    • @mrs_leanne_jones
      @mrs_leanne_jones  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh Tina how did you get on?
      Yes I’m on body identical HRT, I was the same, heard so many stories and was adamant I wanted to be natural but after researching I realised what it actually is and does.
      It’s such a shame that we have to fight so hard especially when every woman goes through it.
      Hopefully things will improve
      So many women get put on antidepressants and get misdiagnosed but I genuinely think it’s because they don’t know enough about perimenopause for them to even put two and two together.
      I really hope that your appointment went well sweetheart 🙏🏼😘❤️

      @@mrs_leanne_jones it did go well. The doctor was so lovely, and he actually specialises in gynaecology. He asked if he could keep the notes I'd made of all my symptoms. I went fully prepared lol 😄 He said he liked it when patients were proactive about their own health. He seemed very impressed that I'd done some research of my own before going to see him. He is happy to prescribe the HRT I want, but I need to check my blood pressure at home over the course of the next week as it was very high when he checked it today. He just wanted to make sure it's not consistently high before prescribing the HRT. So I do feel a lot more positive after my appointment today xx 🥰

      The doctor I saw was the same about me going prepared, I was worried that it would insult them but actually you only get 10 mins so it saves so much time.

    Thank you so much Leanne for doing this update, I'm glad to hear of your improvements since having HRT 🤗🤗🤗 The key thing I took from your update was the importance of communicating with your husband/partner, along with seeking help from an empathetic & women's health aware GP, whilst I was in perimenopause I struggled alone with all the symptoms (whether that be through embarrassment or fear of acknowledging the change in my body, I don't really know, probably both) I suffered to the point of feeling I was going mad & my relationship with my husband hit a terrible low. Thankfully through opening up to myself, my husband & others, HRT & giving myself grace I have come through it, many of the symptoms gone (Sorry still get brain fog 😕) Hopefully I can now just grow old gracefully 😉 Oh my goodness, how darling are your two Granddaughters 😍 & the delight of having Hot Dogs, bless them both 🤗🙏💕xx

      Most definitely, I think when you realise that things have to change and most likely permanently you have to push aside the embarrassment etc and just open up (so difficult)
