I am a proud Igbo woman, from Ngwa extract. I listened to Ikwere language and it s sounds similiar to primitive Ngwa language. When I was a little child, I spent a lot of time with my Grandmother in Ngwa land and she sounds almost thesame as Ikweres. I have been in U.S.A for over 34 years and I still understand the different Igbo accents.

Well Ngwa ancestry is traced to ikwerre, we are your forbears. However you're now igbo and heavily influenced by them.

Why are they not even ashamed of their names spelt in this bizzare way? Nwabali is now Wabali . It's a shame, umumasi is called Rumumasi, UmuOkoro is Rumuokoro, what is this Rumu in Igno man's name? Umu Ibekwe, Umu Obiakani, all Igbo names. Even common sense can tell you who you are with all these Igbo streets without asking questions. IKokwu, Ogbunabali, So, why all the Igbo names yet you are not Igbo? God forbid, that people know the truth but find it difficult do away with the lies they are used to. It is called cognitive dissonance.

They need to stop calling themselves Ikwerre, I'm from Ogbaru but when I'm asked my tribe I say IGBO, Ikwerre is igbo, ogbaru is igbo, so why do they say Ikwerre just say IGBO. We are all the same and your ancestral land is not running away so why the unnecessary seperation. I blame the war for causing such division

Has Andy Wabali or any other Ikwerre man ever denied what Asari said. This is what goes around in the whole Igweocha and Ikwerre people has never come out openly to tell you that they are Igbos instead they will be looking for whom to blame for their own foolish mistakes (Policy of Abandon Property). Accept your mistakes and make a correction that is the best way of life. We Igbos stand on Truth always and with the weapon of Truth all our enemies will go down. Example, look at Obigbo, who is here to deny that it was not in 1990 - 91 when they created Abia State that they change the name of Obigbo to Oyibo and put it in Rivers State. They are added 'R' not rumu. Rumuokoro is actually umuokoro(children of okoro).
I disagree on this, not all ikwerre use rumu. Rumu is a southern ikwerre lexicon used by Obio akpor, emohua and odegu axis. Northern part of ikwerre use omu, mmu and umu.
According to some ikwerre scholars, Rumu has been used before it was changed to umu then back to rumu, after the war.

Iwuanyanwu schooled in PH and spoke Inwuruohna and conceded that he cannot speak Igbo which was a relief because he never spoke Igbo or struggling to do it in any Igbo gathering.

Language, deity, names of people, names of towns, proximity/contiguity are the same in all Igbo. All Imo are not same igbo dialect its not just from Abia to Rivers that igbo dialect changes
This is not mere similarity, they are Igbo and a lot of them know. hold over from war caused them to be somewhat estranged from the larger group but they are still very much Igbo just a different dialect.

Stop fooling yourselves. ndigbo in general doesn't recognise ikwerre, n agbor/ika people as real ibos. Yes, we all like to be one igbo. For mouth,yes,we can claim say na one IBO. But in reality, ibos in general don't claim ikwerre as real ibos... Some parents will frown if their kids bring an ikwerre or ika/agbor man for marriage. facts..no lie. Those sentiments also exists among the ones that are 'agreeably' Igbos. People often prefer their children being married to nearby cities. It is a bit difficult for Imo to marry Ebonyi or Mbaise to marry Ikwuano but with strong pressure the parents will often concede.
That's a big lie. Prior to the war Ikwerre Clan identify as Igbo. No discrimination whatsoever. However Stereotypes Existed Among Igbo's of all Clan and it's not perculiar us alone, but all Ethnicities on Earth. It was the Ikwerres who rejected their Igbo identity because of the Atrocities unleashed by the NIGERIAN Army on Biafra.
