I respectfully disagree about the conflict in Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 2014, and which was provoked several years earlier, with unnecessary NATO expansion, despite promises made to Russia. I’m also concerned that our allies are foreseeing war with China, and have been strengthening their presence in SE Asia. Diplomacy is the path to peace, and we should resist being dragged into any proxy wars. However, the “peace” protest was disgusting and embarrassing. There was nothing peaceful about it. I saw footage of police and their horses being attacked and treated aggressively, as well as unnecessary verbal abuse being hurled at police officers. Protestors then claimed the police were “violent”. It is curious to see Jacinta Allan’s silence on the event. Thanks to our police and defence forces and for all you do, James.
Love the repect you've shown with your disagreement👍 Too many people become venomous and spiteful with their positions on these matters. We need more opposing views that are not so heated so we can argue our points based on shared knowledge to get closer to the truth. The left v right arguement on many topics are so heated that we end up demonising each other.

The Senator doesn't seem to understand that many people see the manafacture of military equipment as a waste of money billions get spent on arms. These funds could feed millions and build hospitals schools and provide housing etc some may believe that it is wrong to show case weapons when our economy is joke. As for our defence most Australians know that we will rely on America to defend Australia so why the filabusting the Senator forgot that Australians have a right to protest. They don't need to be liked or need approval if protestors break the law there are laws inplace to deal with them.
So if we are not willing to defend ourselves do you think America will defend us ? Australia must have a very strong economy to maintain our position as the wealthiest people on earth. A position Labor is rapidly destroying.

As for our defence Australia doesn't have the weapons or the man power to defend against a country such as China so yes we would rely on America and Britian to save the day. It great to believe Australia will return to the manafacturing power house we once were but free trade agreements have ended that dream. Our major assets such as the Ports, railways and utility companies are owned and operated by overseas interests. Just about everything that generated revenue for our goverments have gone goverments rely on taxes for revenue. The lucky country is a dream from decades ago.
