this was probably one of the most useful tutorials i have ever seen with clothing creation in blender even in the first 5 minutes watching you make the shirt and swimsuit i learned so much, thank you for this!
Im glad it was helpful ^^ And thats what I hoped to achieve with this as well. To show some tools to simplify the process, without overwhelming them with info
@@nonexternal i just began blender around 4 days ago and my current female model has alot of messed up vertices and its rigid and not smooth at all, how can i get the female model in the video to create the dress on?
another great way for quick and dirty clothes is just to mask the model where desired and then a simple mask extract (and play with the solidify modifier a bit for desired look) after that sculting details just like on this video
since you asking for what next. maybe texturing ' aka masking' but for my part it's for unreal engine aka plug a masking into a texture : into a material instance, to define 'metals areas' plastic mats , modification paint areas, ect.
This is something i have very little experience with myself, I often stay away from texturing or anything that has to do with exporting, Im only familiar with blender exclusively.
Very great tutorial! I think it could also be interesting down the line if you have any specific processes during a sculpt that you think could be helpful, or small tricks that you've learned as youve grown as an artist, you could always record the process and add voice over afterwards. Of course im only suggesting that method if you do struggle with the sculpting and talking at the same time as you mentioned. Looking forward to many more useful tutorials! ❤
Appreciated^^ I'll keep that in mind, i need to let it cook, cause its hard to notice things thats become very automatic for me. I actually don't like to voiceover, cause then i feel i need to talk faster then i sculpt, which is very hard haha. Id prefer if it would be a slow, more janky video.
Bro i just downloaded 3d shirt from blender kit and i trying to make it into cloth but somehow it tearing cloth I don't know what problem can i u tell me solution 🎉🎉🎉please 🎉🎉
Do you have any tips on sculpting folds? It is one of my biggest hang-ups when it comes to making folds. And it drives me up the wall. I just can't wrap my head around it
I digitally illustrate and drawing folds is my nemesis, so I feel you on that. I'm dreading this part myself. I know your best tool is getting references of the type of clothes you're trying to model and observing how it wrinkles and hangs off of a body, since material dictates how heavy and wrinkly the clothing is. and then after that it's based off of where the fabric meets tension from the gravity of hanging off of the body, or where the clothing gets pinched by the body. Like around the shoulders/armpits, the joints, or crotch. edit; here's a video that explains folds from an artistic lens. It should help you understand basics and then after that it's combining that knowledge with the sculpting tools at your disposal to accomplish a good enough looking result. th-cam.com/video/d07NanfYT8U/w-d-xo.html
No not really, it's something i need to study more. I mostly use the normally use draw sharp+crease and just look at clothing that seems like it would behave the same way, pay attention to where the clothes rest on the body and where theres tention
im trying to make skin tight clothing following this but for some reason the center of the mirror becomes really jagged (the edges that should be fused are zig zagging) know any reasons that might cause that to happen isntead of like you a straight line?
Im not 100% sure what your situation is, but it sounds like you have selected multiple faces, or maybe you have duplicates ontop of eachother. If you still have problems: feel free to join my discord and contact me there :D
Have you got any suggested video tutorials for absolute beginners, I tried following this but I am just way too inexperienced with Blender to keep up, I want to make clothes for 3D models
