@@MonkeyBox331 I've seen so many use these but very very few that can actually use them for defence of as a weapon.
Like anything it's takes practice and most should stay with foam and only for show..
I learned slowly, the hard way, we made our own with sticks and chain and watching films.
I never knocked myself out but definitely hurt myself a few times.
Worth it, some moves are similar to staff or sword ☯️
After learning to use them safely, you should then begin to use them with kicks, punches, throws, as a waru and attempt to discover and develope new moves to continue the evolution of the art and your own knowledge. Even a mistake is a lesson.
      My learning continues, 40yrs learning.🙏

Nunchucks are more serious weapon than I expected. Form and weight is similar to a staff but that speed and size makes real difference. And you can get into those basic strikes after few hours of practice.
Of course, those cool strikes look silly to me, but I can't deny that this is serious weapon.

Those are great strikes, but remember every time they hit your body from recoil, you've just attacked yourself. All the fancy stuff is wasted energy in a real fight. Practice in the field on small saplings, tall thick grass, and other objects to learn how to minimize recoil.

What sense does it make when you hold it so close to the chain? You have less reach and you lose the extra acceleration it could have by being made och two sticks.
A straight baton has more reach and more impact when you do it that way.

    • @Koolaccel
      @Koolaccel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Control. The closer your hand is to the chain, the greater control you have, and nunchucks are ALL about control. The more control you have, the more speed you have, and the more speed you have, the more force/damage can be applied.
Nunchuks work at it's best as a deceptive weapon. Sticks are better in most ways, but sticks are a natural weapon that most people will have some idea of how to defend or counter against. 99% of people have no idea how to fight someone wielding nunchuks. It's reach is deceptive, it's speed is deceptive, and it's power is deceptive, thus the reason the ninja association exists.

ya veía que se pegaba con los nin,
la posición de ataque va a acorde con las posiciones de los pies.
ante cada ataque no debe quedar descubierto . pense ver algo mejor, pero esta bien para principiantes.

You hold the Nunchaku up to high.
You loose a lot of power and reach holding them like that. It is good for tricks, but not so good for fighting. IMHO. You seem to make it work pretty good though. 👍
