Which method would you use for larger tools like a table saw or jointer with medium rusting??

Nice work; but your lapping could use some adjustment:
"When you lap anything,be it stones, lathe bits, all cutting tools,
A Figure 8 pattern should always be used,is a standard used by all machinists.
The idea being, even if the lapping plate is not 100% flat, you will get a 100% coverage"
I was taught this in a machine shop and have applied it to a wide range of materials.
The figure Eight motion will yield the flattest surface when hand lapping.

Great video. FYI, there's a difference between silicone (a polymer used as a lubricant/waterproofer) and silicon (a hard mineral used in abrasives). There's no such thing as silicone carbide.

Also, coarse and fine grit; not high and low.

His pronunciation could have been off, but he was probably referring to this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon_carbide

You think you have it rough? Try here in Puerto Rico, an island south east from Florida 😜

You REALLY wouldn't like the swamps of south Louisiana!

Great vid. I noticed when you used the eraser on the ruler. It looked like when you wiped it off, some of the smaller measurements were kind of blurred sort of. Hard to explain..

I believe what you are seeing there is the rule moving out of focus slightly, in the camera. I use a lens that has a shallow depth of field at a low f stop.

    Evaporust works for me.

Agreed. It's my first choice for rust removal on anything small enough to be put in a container with Evaporust. It's nontoxic unlike Rust Free which is effective but noxious.
