Sailor Moon's dark boot shading kind of bothers me a little at first but it looks much more appropriate with the other senshi grouped around her. Like maybe they were going for a darker shading because she is surrounded or something. I wonder if the paint jobs are the same on the solo figures.
I have the solo usagi and the boot shading is the same, but I imagine it’s meant for being grouped together

I have keychain bootlegs of the original gachapons and they are… interesting to look at. I got them when I was 11 (im now 23) so I didn’t really notice what was wrong with them until they started falling apart on me. Sailor Moon has huge monkey ears, Mercury lost her bow to time and Venus’s skirt and legs just come off. I use them as awful Christmas ornaments now.
i got the ones that came separate, i love them i'm trying really hard to get as much Sailor Moon merch i can missed out when i was younger so trying to make up for it
i think i have the bootleg original ones, i'm missing one of their white leg stand thing you would put in their legs

I really wanted to love them- I only got Sailor Moon & Venus and while Moon is super cute, my Venus just looks off, so disappointing because she looked so precious in the photos. Her hair is just sorta swallowing her face and the face itself is a bit wrong too. At least they didn't break the bank! your Mercury and Mars look beautiful too!
Personally I think this set is fine, I actually have the original HGIF figures these girls are based off of and the improvements in style, posing and colorization is clearly apparent. HOWEVER, I do feel that for the quality of these figures as a set the price is a bit too high. Not to mention, with the array of paint defects they're privy to you don't know what you're gonna get with the sets until it's too late. If I ever decide to buy these I'll be getting them individually so I can actually pick out the better looking figures with the least amount of errors. As for Sailor Moon herself, I'll probably just paint the brooch details in myself since the exclusion of that really annoys me! Overall great review, very informative and entertaining!

I got the set and watched bad reviews before hand mine had a few paint faults especially on venus and mars but I still ended up liking it a lot as well. I think the stand really makes it

Thanks for the review! I was so curious to see how the paint jobs were going to come out, and I'm glad to see you got some solid figures. :) Now I have a bit more confidence in buying the individual figures I want from this line.

This is cool, but at the same time I'm glad I didn't buy it. I already have the gashapon individual ones from the early 2000s and the first HGIF interlocking set from 2013-2014 (somewhere in there. I don't remember when it came out either.) Although I will say I like the more metallic look on their fuku colors. To me that definitely says Sailormoon Crystal.

I only have sailor moon
The paint issues are probably because people are buying knock offs from China either from Amazon or Ebay. I saw just the sailor moon one of these for 15 dollars on ebay with free shipping and I almost got it but figured it's probably a sham.
I can confirm they have not made bootlegs of this set yet. Thank goodness!
