    Great Goddess thank you! So comprehensive with the region of origin information. Other videos I watched made no distinction between the varieties and I could tell the info was incorrect... Glad I kept watching and happened upon yours.

    The white calls Lilly is also known as Arum lillies. They grow so wild everywhere in South Africa and tall and long blooms near or in water. They also grow in full sun contrary to what you said. They are a beautiful plant I love them

    The western part of South Africa is semi-desert / dry/ arid area....it is called the WEST COAST (the Atlantic ocean is cold that is why the land is so dry - if you go up along the coast you get to Namibia which is mostly a desert along the coast (SKELETON COAST) the eastern part is more tropical anything from the (East London) WILD COAST UPWARDS TO MOZAMBIQUE is tropical - hot humid weather... because of the warm sea currents bringing moisture and rain...White arum/calla lilies want their feet in water and their faces in the sun...so if you have a very wet area that is full sun they will thrive and bless you with a cloud of white in your garden. From South Africa (Port Elizabeth)

    I have the one to your left. The colored calla lily. It is in a pot. And it is dying fast. How often should I water it? Should I get some sort of plant food for it? Is there some way I can revive it? I can send you a picture.

    I want to plant these calas in my front yard, I am in California where it gets in the 90s in the summer and 30s in the winter. Can i plant and just leave them or do i have to dig them up for the winter as I've heard from other gardners?

    I guess a yellow calla is a colored one? I have mine in full sun (in a pot) and the flowers are gone, the plant is still green though. The lady near me has the same callas and her is planted near her house with not much full sun. Well her callas are still thriving and beautiful. I was thinking mine may need more shade?

    Okay, I live in AZ and my mom gave me a really dark purple almost black Calla Lily for a gift for my birthday almost a couple of weeks ago and they are drying out. I am keeping them moist as much as possible but not over watering them. I am in an area where is a dry heat and very hot here. I put it outside and it started wilting and when indoors I put it in the window as much as possible where the sun hits, but I'm not sure what I am doing is right......what do I do to keep it thriving? HELP!

    wow look at the foliage on that calla! I don't know what I am doing wrong but mine have curly/wavy drooping foliage and I've only gotten 1-3 blooms from 4 corms. Also the blooms spathes of the flowers are green. What am I doing wrong here?

    please what do i need to do to make the flowers bloom again. When I bought the vase it had a lot of yellow flowers over time they all turned green. What should I do to make them turn yellow?

    • @CorolaImperial
      @CorolaImperial 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They wont turn yellow again. That's because they've completed their cycle, the flowers are gonna die, but in the next season you will have more yellow flowers

    I live in Northern California, East Bay, and my calla lillies are wilted. I water and i feed them plant food. They get morning to mid afternoon sun. the center is tall and straight up but the edges are not doing so well. What am i doing wrong? Or not doing? Thank you.

    I have a cala lilly plant with green flowers and it is growing really well but it is a very droopy I have it gently bound together but I don't know if that is what I should do or should I be cutting it back

      Toni Aaron research this more! I’ve been told to steak and tie it, about mid point, depending on how tall it is. Don’t tie up where the leaves are. Make sure it’s a loose tie not tight. Dropping leaves (or even the flowers) can also mean it’s sick! To much water. I think Cala lily plants are hard to grow. Because of watering!!

    I have a colored calla lily.. (we are on a warm climate) should I put my calla lilies on a vase with fewer water content? or.. is it not recommended to be placed on anything with water in it? I realised after putting them in a vase yesterday - the stem of the colored calla lily... became.. really wet.. for some reason..I can't stop few inches of it since the stems wasn't so sturdy anymore - like how it should be. So I am confused how to actually care for these calla lilies that are colored.

      I would like to know the answer to your question also. My purple ones are really droopy, but they are starting to make seed pods so I guess they are healthy?

    There are two types of white calla lilies!! You can tell by the leaves. One has more of a look like the elephant ear type leaf. The other is not, it has more of a slender type leaf. I’ve seen Cala lilies that don’t have bulbs! So this video is confusing. I’ve seen white round bulbs for white Cala lilies. Not what you showed, so not all white Cala lilies will have a cone shape bulb.
