The sad part of this entire story is Milunka died a penniless woman and was a maid who cleaned the bars in the town she lived in. France offered her a nice house and a pension for life but she refused.

Oh wow, it's an honor to have you here! You did such a great job with the video! And your pronunciation was fine. Our apologies if we sounded mean or something, that was not our intention whatsoever.

At least you have the correct Serbian flag in the animation. I noticed on the album "The Last Stand" that the artwork for the song "Last Dying Breath" used the wrong Serbian flag - They used the modern flag instead of the one for WWI.

Yes she was the most decorated female soldier ever. But lets forget for a moment she was a woman she was just overall one of the most decorated
soldiers of all time and just a real badass male or female.

Thank you ladies for sharing Serbian history! I'm proud to say I've third-generation American/Serbian ancestry! We don't get these historical European perspectives in the education system in North America, mostly American historical figures that's directly related to WW1-WW11 history. I was a U.S veteran history teacher (1990-2010) in an American military school at "California Military Institute" located in Perris Camp San Luis Obispo, Riverside County (Perris Union High School). I'd a few male and female students with American/Serbian ancestry whose familes immigrated from Novi Pazar, Požarevac, and Novi Sad. One referenced her name to my unknown knowledge. I was inspired to learn American/Serbian ancestry history. There were about 190,000 American citizens who identified as having Serb ancestry. Serbians to the United States were mostly young men without wives or children. They came with some relatives or friends revisiting their old homes. America and Serbia were allies during WWI-WWII, expressed their support and sympathy for the Serbian people from the very beginning, enormous financial support and thousands of humanitarian aid were provided to the Serbian people from America. Yugoslavia was created under the influence of 'Fourteen Points' by U.S President Woodrow Wilson and America was the first nation to diplomatically recognize Yugoslavia. America was heavily involved in defining the borders for the new 'Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes'. Respect brothers & sisters Jim xx

@boya7262 The Balkans have the best history in my opinion.
People talk about war crimes and such forgetting what UK, France, Italy and Germany (literally birthed fascism and Nazism), Japan, China, Korea, India, USA (built upon genocide of natives) did.
Balkans are just so amazing when you see at how small they are and what fierce characters were birthed there.
I was even surprised when I read that 17 Roman emperors were born in what today is Serbia. Amazing.

Thanks for reacting. (Even though you already reacted to the same song)
Some suggestions, not sure what you seen already, but you should check out 'En livstid i krig' live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg. Its in Swedish but use the subs. Another good song if somewhat older is 'Ghostdivision' live from the polish Woodstock back in 2012. So much energy.

Copied from other reactors page ""In 1914, in the early days of World War I, Savić was awarded her first Karađorđe Star with Swords after the Battle of Kolubara. She received her second Karađorđe Star (with Swords) after the Battle of the Crna Bend in 1916 when she captured 23 Bulgarian soldiers single-handedly.
She was awarded the French Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour) twice, as well as the Russian Cross of St. George, the British medal of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael, and the Serbian Miloš Obilić medal. She was the sole female recipient of the French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 with the gold palm attribute for service in World War""
