What is easy to forget, before Star Wars came out in 1977, scifi movies were mostly either Japanese men in rubber suits or American 'Teenagers from Outer Space' kinda movies. You had never seen anything like the original Star Wars before. It was like seeing colour for the first time. I still remember how, as an 11 year old, it blew me away. Even today, I am still in awe of the opening 10 minutes of the original.
Marcelo/ Argentina
The fact that you included the Force Unleashed theme, an orchestra piece that only exists in the Video Game its named after, just hits differently. The soundtrack from that game is on par with the soundtrack of the movies.
The split second transition from *Throne Room* to *Confrontation with Count Dooku/Finale* at 55:11 - chills. Amazing job editing together this Orchestral Suite. I like how it has Rogue One, Solo and The Force Unleashed in there.
Thank you! I worked hard on that part and adjusting the sound level was interesting. My personal favorite is Han and the Princess going into kylo ren’s theme with a second iteration into the emperor arrives. My little brother actually believed that is how Kylo’s theme played. lol. Thank you for the compliment. I’m glad you enjoy it!
@@phantomitchell No worries; your hard work paid off. I loved those transitions as well :) I want to make another Star Wars tribute someday - you've given me some ideas of how to blend themes together. There's a video on my channel that I uploaded before The Rise of Skywalker came out and I feel it's probably my best Star Wars tribute to date. Just wondering, are you also a Batman fan?
@@phantomitchell I was actually going to comment on that one. That was a nimble pivot between all three. (That said, you spelled "Emperor" wrong in the track listing there.)
@@GrandJediMaster7860 I know it’s been a while. My biggest suggestion is listen for cadences in the music. If you notice also, I do my best to not break a measure of music when editing. That makes it feel fake and unlike how music is composed. Also, when fading in with a loud crash, find the millisecond the crash starts cut it there and then make a minuscule fade in. It makes it sound natural. Try not to transition in moments when the instruments are moving a lot from the piece before it. It can be very hard to make a smooth transition in feel. Find a place in the music that has a similar feel in general. Lastly, find music where the key before matches the key that is following. Either same key, a 5th, or a 4th. Something that is a really crazy key makes a whole different feel and may need a full cut off.
I may not have loved or been amped for the sequels on the treatment of script, characters not used well or properly both old and new...however....I love the soundtracks of the trilogy very much. I hear Reys theme and I think of my daughter holding my star wars collection and creating her own lightsaber from things around the home and just watching her make her own personal adventures as I did before her...🥺❤️👏.
I THINK STAR WARS IS THE BEST MOVIES AND THE BEST IN THE WORLD AND WE ARE ALL LUCKY TO HAVE STAR WARS IN ARE LIFE AS STAR WARS FANS AROUND THE WORLD MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALLWAYS NEVER GO INTO THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE AND BE A JEDI MASTER IN LIFE STAY TRUE TO THE FORCE OF YOUR LIVE IN GOOD
I love how you started it off with the opening theme from Revenge of the Sith. The battle over Coruscant is still one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars.
Ha. Star Wars is a great way to make these but this was my literal first one. It’s been modded over the years and more music is released and I finally had to cut it to just the Skywalker Saga because it was becoming 2 hours of music. lol.
Excellent choice - it's still the most majestic out of all the movies IMO; and still the darkest too. Nothing will be darker than the combination of the newly anointed Vader about to murder Jedi children along with the grisly scene where he gets karma for it (the immolation scene).
As much as I dislike the prequels and what it did to the franchise, the only wise decision that Disney / modern Lucas film made concerning them was to keep John Williams on to do the scores. Williams music is the true Force in SW... "It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together."
Non John Williams' pieces are strikingly mediocre... They try to replicate the style and mood, but in essence are just loud XDDD Williams' music is almost spiritual, even without the visuals its so evocative and emotional. Insanity!!!
I'm tempted buy TH-cam Premium - the ads that are playing during this are so annoying. They play at points when music is *still playing!* TH-cam need to review adverts for videos that have music - ads should be played at the start and the end or at natural breaks, shouldn't they? I'm not having a rant at you btw - just TH-cam and their ad placement.
It's all about money. That way of doing things would mean less ads I reckon and would be harder to code than random ads. Wouldn't expect that change anytime soon 😂
Sorry, but I must disagree. Since all is John Williams, excluding Rogue One and Force Unleashed, it is all unbeatable. Some may not agree with the plot or the characters but the music is incredible. I was struck with aw listening to Rey's Theme, the March of the Resistance, (questioning where he had been hiding it all this time) and I love the theme for Kylo and how it is close enough but distant enough to the Imperial March and the music of Ep. III. And The Rise of Skywalker sounds like a love letter from John to the fans saying thank you for letting me do this. All this to say, I respect your opinion as it is valid, but I love it as John Williams creates an entire universe, not just trilogies.
Ah cool... I thought it is another composer in the sequels.. Yet, all the original heroes were treated disgracefully and the new ones are boring and soulless.. So how can any composer, who is supposed to write the music for these movies, make something better out of it.
@@HA-gu1qk Complaining for the sake of complaining only furthers your own bitterness. That is entirely correct. Some of the characters wouldn't feel the same without their theme music.
