- Good morning everyone! Today we had a delivery of some lumber to a McDonald's under construction and while we were just getting done dropping off the load police show up!

Glad the officer helped. Sometimes there just isn't anything else you can do. Sure technically your illegally parked but what else are you supposed to do, he was aware and made better use of his time by assisting you instead of ticketing you. Good for him. *High Five* for him lol
Looked like the cop just sat in his car, rather than stop traffic for a few minutes to let him get the forklift around to the back. Not much assistance there.

Just laying down for my 6 to 8 hour power nap🤔,here in Downey,Ca. it's still got the original arches and the speedee dude with running neon legs at Lakewood & Florence.also had the numero uno taco bell building but that went to corporate headquarters in Irvine,Ca.

McDonalds turned into the divorced parents go to on visitation day. The Golden Arches used to be a lot of fun. Big business sucked the life blood out of it.
That was an easy offload, think one of the men on the job site could have stood out there and directed traffic for you but it was nice that the officer got behind you to make it a little more safe for everyone. Have a great day, stay safe out there.

Just out of curiosity why couldn’t you move the cones and pull the truck into the McDonald’s parking lot or it looks like there was a completely empty parking lot across the street pulled in there you’re lucky nobody got killed you’re not that bright, now if you were broken down there you would’ve had to lay out your DOT triangles correct? So why didn’t you at least lay out your triangles you must have them on the truck if you don’t that’s a DOT violation right there
The amount of time it takes to do all that and look at how long we were actually there
@@SaffordDelivery takes less than a minute to put cones out and less than a minute to pick them up also why the hell did you not unload the forklift park it in the entranceway and back up or pull up so your load is infront of the entranceway and unload from the other side where I live you would have been in trouble for unloading from the traffic side
@@SaffordDelivery ya look how long you were there illegally unloading your truck in an active lane of traffic essentially blocking one whole direction of traffic, as well as swinging the a** end of your forklift into an oncoming lane so essentially blocking 3 out of 4 lanes that cop was not there to help you dude he was going to give you shit it is not how long you were there for it is called safe legal unloading of a flatdeck
I have my CDL A , even though I don't drive O.T.R anymore, I always go out of my way to make a driver's life easier by blocking traffic for them when I can. Most people have no idea of the stresses involved in that work.

I live in Canada an Canadian cops would just make sure you were safe and would even help out with traffic and stuff but i have been to the states and after living in Canada for 24 YEARS and being stopped by the cops ONCE (I was doing 60 in a 50 zone in my side chicks shitbox Neon) i was stopped EIGHT TIMES between Newyork and Georgia. Got EIGHT tickets for "speeding, "crossing over the line in a corner", changing lanes at a stoplight and once the cop had to call back to his station to figure out something to ticket me for. So Yeah Fck American cops.

The site workers giving zero damns about helping the delivery guy...Something I learned a long time ago is to help out the folks that deliver your material ,and any other outside folks that come tonthe jobsite. They can make things good or $hi++y for you.

well, the cop was somewhat useful. I bet he was actually looking for a ticket giveaway. I was moving hay bales the other day and a cop hid on a side street. he was watching though. 3 loads in a row, I saw him light someone up, after they passed me when I was turning left into my field. Another day I was stuck waiting to get out of the field, when a RCMP car through on his lights and angled across the road stopping traffic for me.
Better than nothing, and he did block traffic so he could get the lift on the back. Watch part 2 and stop watching cnn

I've been watching your vids for a few weeks now. Great content! The other day there was a delivery made here at my apartment complex. They are replacing all the decks. There was 4 skids on the truck for us. I could tell the driver was unfamiliar with the Moffett. He wasn't sure what levers did what. Total unload time for him was about an hour and and a half. The one construction guy had stacked all the lumber and decking away in the storage trailer before the driver had loaded the Moffett onto his truck. This was very difficult to watch after watching your vids:)

dude you can tell that is a cop car from a long ways away if you know what to look for the black rims and no roof runners plus the light bar inside the windshield all give it away
Unmarked police vehicles, should have a well-endowed hidden light package to avoid confusion from the public and to provide safety for the officer. The idea is to catch people when they think they aren't being watched. When people see a marked police vehicle, they drive better.Aug. 9, 2021

All it takes is some flashy lights to go viral! This is the first vid I’ve seen of your but I grew up in south east CT so I recognize lots of the other video title and thumbnails. I work for a GC in Boston and try to make drivers lives easier during deliveries to our tight sites. If you guys stop bringing the goods, no one makes any money!

My only big problem with this is the police should have made you move your whole truck onto the road and off the sidewalk because it blocks the travel path for wheelchairs.
I 100% agree. I think the cop was originally intending to issue a ticket. He had only arrived within the minute. This clown was just fortunate to approach the cop in very quick time that the cop, probably in a very good mood, and maybe ready for his morning coffee, allowed this guy to get going within the "three minutes" he quoted.
There were NO SAFETY PROTOCOLS in place. No cones on the street, no flag people. He did in fact drive the loader on BOTH side of street at one point in order to get the load off the truck ....and just because there was no foot traffic at the time is no excuse for parking on the sidewalk ....let alone wheelchair access.

Like they say....... you have no idea...... average sidewalk sees how many wheelchairs in a year ? How many cars is an able bodied delivery man gonna dodge .... because ? He’s differently abled doesn’t mean he should dodge cars , any more than if sidewalk is blocked for a few minutes that a wheelchair can be expected to wait. When people and cars and traffic congestion the road .... we sit in traffic... when crossing guard says don’t cross ... is he inhibiting the pedestrian ? Lol

I would have used some road cones to block part of the road with some of the building crew helping with traffic.

There was a play zone here that had a ball pit with a automatic system that washed them at a rate of about 2 a minute and return them to the pit.

Exactly correct "lu". You left out the fact that the truck is also on half of the sidewalk. My opinion is that the cop may have been thinking more along the lines of stopping to give this clown a ticket. He had only arrived within one minute ....and perhaps had a change of heart to issue a ticket. His lights were on only because it IS a police procedure to turn them on when stopped on a street lane ....for SAFETY ....POLICE SAFETY.

...assist for safety??? The officer had no idea who this guy was or what he was doing. The officer arrived when the load was being put on the ground beside the carpenter.
There was NOT SAFETY PROTOCOLS done when the load was taken off the truck. There was no flag person on either direction of travel.

@@SaffordDelivery I have a suggestion.Why not carry a pallet jack with you to move things down driveways and other soft surfaces that cant handle your forklift?
@@francescoavila6960 Have you ever used a pallet jack on a soft surface? If you have something heavy on a pallet jack because the wheels are so small the pressure would be immensely more due to the low surface area of the wheel. So that means that the little bit of the wheel that actually makes contact with the ground is all that bears the weight so in some instances that may even be worse. Now the reason why the forklift tire leaves marks is because they are off-road tires and because the machine weighs 6, 400 lbs empty not including the weight of the fuel the driver or the material and a lot of customers may not have the appropriate surface for us to work on that's why they pay for a curbside delivery. Have you ever used a pallet jack on a hard surface with a debris on it? It doesn't move. Curbside delivery means just that, if anything farther and a we can accommodate we will. Stay tuned and you will find out that you're earlier comment about nothing controversial or interesting ever happens may not be enough to peak your interest but this show for one is educational and entertaining.
@@SaffordDelivery yes i have done local pickup and delivery at Fedex freight for 23 years..they work great on all pavements..even hard dirt and gravel..You really "Care" about your customers then you wouldnt be leaving their pallets on the grass next to the road like I see in your video..That lady was justifiably pissed off..You best remain an owner operater cause there isnt a freight company that will tolerate your laziness
