    Awesome stuff. Could use a follow up on how to teach attacking patterns like this especially with a small practice field like you did for the build-out-of-the-back series.

      Also - I have a video called “Score more goals” on the channel that gets into attacking patterns as well

    Your videos are so great! I am coaching my son's U10 team, and I'd say they're above average skill-wise, for sure. I think the vast majority of them should be able to handle these concepts.
    Do you recommend starting with the shape? Starting with building out of the back? I especially like the concept of the dedicated run.
    Thanks so much for your videos! I can't get enough!

    Love your videos Rory .noticed a difference in our little team already implementing your drills .do you have any tips on tracking back when on the defensive

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s a big challenge at younger ages and usually gets better with experience imo. I don’t have a specific drill but it’s really shape and organization work.

    Great video. Is it possible you can create another video to extend it further? Include convergence/finishing? Also, it appears you put players in offsides positions. Can you explain that?

    Your videos are great! Our league uses 6v6 not 7v7. Would you suggest a 2-3-0, 2-2-1, or 2-1-2? Thanks

      2-1-2.

      If you have a good defender , you could get away with 1 at the back , allowing extra man in midfield

    Been watching your videos and I enjoy them very much. The problem I'm having is once you know WHAT to coach....HOW do you coach it? If you don't have a talented team, these concepts will fly right over their heads. I'm sitting here thinking, these strategies are great, but how in the world am I supposed to teach these kids so they understand what they are doing.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah there is definitely modifications depending on skill level. That being said I have had success at a range of skill levels implementing stuff like this. What I find most people struggle with is how long it takes to see results.
      For example I have an above average U9 team right now. Good players but not an elite team (at least not yet) and we worked for probably 7-8 months on building out of the back before it got looking ok.

    • @sardiskan
      @sardiskan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CoachRorySoccer 7-8 months? Do you guys have year-round soccer? We only have soccer for 3 months at a time twice a year (spring and fall) and we don't always get the same players. If 7-8 months is the standard, I'd have to have the same players across 3 seasons to get any kind of team cohesion.
      So follow-up question, how do you build out of the back when there is no buildout line? Our league doesn't have a buildout line. The only rule is the defending team cannot come into the penalty area.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sardiskan yeah we go year round. A little lighter in the winter. Fall and spring is twice a week training 1.5h per session.
      That’s really to bad they don’t use a build out line. Encourages what I call chaos Soccer where you have swarms of players running at the ball. It’s pretty much the same stuff just have to make quicker decisions and look to play a little more direct. For example looking to play directly to the striker from CB because they are under a lot of pressure.
