Excellent video, Goose, always a quality presentation from you. Paris, Texas is one of my all time favorites. I intend to see The Quiet Girl soon. Lots of great movies mentioned
Thanks so much Neil. Ah I can certainly see why, I feel like Paris, Texas is now one of those films that will demand a re-watch from me every year or so. Incredible stuff. Hope you enjoy The Quiet Girl! A perfect watch for when you need a pick me up. Hope you are keeping well!
Thanks so much! They are certainly a boutique I would recommend, particularly the director boxsets which are stunning in terms of presentation and content.
Absolutely brilliant video mate; I actually had no idea ‘The Souvenir’ got reissued from them; might have to make an upgrade to that recent release 😀👌 I always be curious to check out ‘Godland’ mate; absolutely loved ‘Compartment No.6’ and ‘The Double Life Of Veronique’ was fantastic mate; loved the vibrancy that film went for 👌 Krzysztof Kieslowski has really become one of my fav directors; I’m really glad I got that 4 film Arrow boxset with them four titles of his in; never got to upgrade to 4K with The ‘Three Colours’ trilogy; never looked up to the reviews on the transfers; but nonetheless there beautiful films and happy I got the Blu-Ray set for like £15 ❤️💙🤍 I think ‘The Piano Teacher’ would be a fantastic title to get the 4K treatment mate; I saw you watched ‘Amour’ the other day; brilliant film that. ‘The Quiet Girl’ was excellent; one of my fav films of 2022; so glad you loved it bud. Wonderful video man; keep up the great work; look forward to the next pick-ups video aswell 😀🍿🎸🎶
Thanks so much Sam. Godland is definitely worth your time. Simply stunning film in both content and how it was shot. Definitely want to visit Iceland now, though perhaps enjoy some more modern comforts! Ah Kieslowski is easily one of my favourites too. I'm just making my way through that cinema of conflict boxset at the moment too! It had been sat on my shelf for far too long. How are you finding it? Ah yes I couldn't agree more, I'd love a 4K of the Piano Teacher. It's one I've been very tempted to import for a while. Yes just watching Amour a few days ago and I'm still processing really. Another difficult but brilliant watch from Michael Haneke.
@@goosesmovies I’m going to have to check that one out mate; the only Iceland I been to is the supermarket 😂🤣 I definitely want to go tho; looks like a beautiful country; very peaceful aswell 😇 How’s the 4K on ‘Double Life Of Veronique’ btw bud? I think I seen all them four films mate; I didn’t think too much to the film ‘Blind Chance’ from what I remember; but ‘Camera Buff’ is very solid and I do remember liking the film ‘No End’ whilst it was very depressing; still a good film. Not seen ‘The Scar’ yet tho I don’t think 🤔 ‘Amour’ is amazing mate; not seen it in so long buddy; but remember it being really good; yet quite upsetting in the second half of the film. I would think about watching the original ‘Funny Games’; but man that trailer kinda put me off 😱😬 Still a great director is Michael Haneke bud; the film ‘Code Unknown’ kinda went over my head a bit 😱😂
😂 the supermarket is kept at about the same temperature to be fair! I don't know how others found it, but I think all of Kieslowski films are a bit underwhelming in 4K, though I don't own an OLED to get the total experience. Still for me worth having in the best quality available without a doubt, and I think Veronique is only about £15 in the sale these days. Ah I look forward to Blind Chance then, I've still got 2 more to go from that set. Yeah I watched Funny Games a while back. One where I understood the point, and why he made it, but not a film I'd ever return to. Brutal to say the least. Code Unknown I'd love to see. Definitely one I'll get to this year!
