Good f-ing LORD she can jam! lol Not belittling the rest of the band either; I'm just impressed that she's been able to do that well with as many bands as she has. I've seen Fish play with like 5 different bands and they always work well together.
I've looked at the tour schedule for The Samantha Fish Band and they have not been to West Central Texas... ever! Just wondering if they are afraid that people here would not like her Style of Blues? They would be wrong ... there's tons of Blues music here. Samantha... book a gig somewhere in West Central Texas... like Abilene, Midland/ Odessa or San Angelo. There would be "Standing Room Only " ... you'd pack the house. Absolutely Great band and Samantha is one of the best Female Guitarist I've seen.
What I'd give to see her play this again. I discovered her 6 months too late. Saw her yesterday and today and the only one of the old up tempo crowd pleasers she played was Gone For Good (which wasn't even on the set list) at the festival yesterday. The full length show tonight added a lot of slow songs, some on acoustic guitar. Even the rockers are more rock and roll with heavy strumming and not the soulful blues leads. Ah, well, maybe she'll take pity on the old fans and bring back some of the old stuff, but I must say the new band doesn't have the energy to deliver. They just have to get out of the way.
Sigh....I'm really torn on what to think about the addition of horns and keyboards to her band. I really like Chicago-style blues, in general, and the additional instruments do give Sam that "fuller" sound........but they also drown out some of the subtleties of Sam's playing. I dunno, I guess I just got into her when she had a more stripped-down style...and I'm a crotchety old man who hates change :/
Definitely the sound she had in the trio with Go Go and Chris was my favorite, but I am coming around to the new stuff, especially when the mix is done well and lets her guitar and vocals shine.
Tout à fait d'accord,je préférais le combo à 3 d'avant, c'est un peu comme si on avait ajouté à l'époque des cuivres au groupe Cream ,mais c'était autrefois et moi aussi je suis un nostalgique !
Raythulhu Feel same way was gone get tickets fir Dec 2017 show and feel like all I loved about her band is gone. The old unit was a wicked 3 piece. Thorogood ruined his band in the 80s , was bad ass 3 piece bar band then horns I never bought another lp.
I can't get enough of early Samantha Fish. I love the drama of her throwing her whole being into something she can just barely execute. She may miss notes. She may play wrong notes. She may have to play a slower solo. Or not. So help her, she will just come crashing through whatever gets in her way, like the General Lee through a barn. The result is imperfect but incredibly exciting! And really, surprisingly close to ideal.
A little secret here. Three ways to playing the almighty Guitar. You can "pull" or you can "hammer". Both are great ways of getting your points across, but if you don't know how to "squeeze” those strings up and down the neck like Samantha Fish is surely demonstrating here, then go find something else to do.
I have seen this song played many times before and the pace was just a little bit too fast. Still love it its just an observation. Samantha Fish is my favorite living performer since 2011.
I liked the old trio with Go Go better. The horns are a distraction. Also these days she plays mostly her new album and does not play most of her older songs. At least play a mix of old and new and don't forget the great older stuff.
I beg to differ i saw her in July and she played the entire new album Chills & Fever and only played 2 older songs. She did not play Money to Burn ,,Go to Hell,Foolin around,Bitch on the run,Put a spell on you ,War Pigs or other older stuff.I love Samantha but would just like to see her play more then 2 older songs and not only concentrate on the new stuff like she did when i saw her in July.
You are entitled to your opinion. My many experiences filming her Chills & Fever tour shows that she does many older songs in her set list. From a music business point of view....an artist needs to constantly evolve and play new material not get stuck in a rut. Just my opinion. th-cam.com/play/PLuKtKAhCWyrYfnahsHnkrntgIhrpIdQ7T.html
Too beautiful,..nearly..! Very, very entairtened and with an huge touch of pure Rock 'n Roll !
That drummer , .... tap , tap ,tappety tap !
A groove that you don't want to end. Go Sam and the sax man.
You can see just how much she LOVES playing during that jam. So much respect!
She must be one of the best lead/rhythm guitarists out there today - male or female
Samantha is the queen of the Rhythm and blues.
Good f-ing LORD she can jam! lol

Wow! One of my favorite artist. The guitar and vocals, all of it. She has notched it up.
4 poor souls who disliked it… let’s pray for them, they desperately need it for sure…

Maybe the best version I have heard. Love the additional guitar work and the band is doing good. Ms Fish you are on top of it !!!
Great version and great recording!

Where the hell is Go Go Ray? Why they part ways?

She still needs a mixer who can HEAR.. been her only problem for many years.
Must agree - really miss GoGo Ray and horns distract. Oh well.

tight !!!!
5 yr's later..nothing gone empty. "When this women grabs the tail, she don't let it be till she's done letting go."

Baby, PLEASE don't go... smoking'
How much is You tube paying SF. Obviously not enough for all these Guitar Clinics!

Both are great ways of getting your points across, but if you don't know how to "squeeze” those strings up and down the neck like Samantha Fish is surely demonstrating here, then go find something else to do.
If she played with the Stones, you wouldn't need Mick or Keith!
I have seen this song played many times before and the pace was just a little bit too fast. Still love it its just an observation. Samantha Fish is my favorite living performer since 2011.
Just before I heard the live version from 2013 and I thougth: what the heck, is this the speed metal version of this song?
Samantha = lots of guts ! be safe.
GoGo would have been going apeshit behind the drums on Runaway. Manoman I miss that dude!
More equipment more sound. I like the addition but the other set up was great to.
KICK IT, MAMA!
Kansas City?
any body who put their thumb down is cause they had their thumb in their as....
What guitar is Samantha using here?
Delaney Guitar www.delaneyguitars.com/
Damn, that Delaney's had some abuse.
I think that she had some Angus Young in that song!
I liked the old trio with Go Go better. The horns are a distraction. Also these days she plays mostly her new album and does not play most of her older songs. At least play a mix of old and new and don't forget the great older stuff.
That's not true.... she does mix her older songs with her new songs when performing. Case in point...this song Runaway is from her 2011 release.

Your entitled to your opinion and i am entitled to mine.I can only comment about the 3 times i saw her.
And I can comment on over 25 times I have filmed her complete shows.....
Her voice could be stronger in this one, I blame the sound-man as Samantha can do no wrong. Always GREAT!
she's great but i have to disagree with some of the comments she's to good to play with the stones they should have retired about 50 years ago
My buddy who is a wood worker says, they should have done a better job on the guitar.
I love samantha fish guitar work. She doesn't overplay songs like many musicians do when showing off.
