    So, they are easy to keep but require a strict diet? Doesn't make sense.

      "easy Keeper" as I understand it, means they easily transfer their food into fat-- so they need to have their food restricted over a long period of time... they get obese easily if just left to graze without lots of exercise.

      They're mountain horses originally and easily overeat when you let them graze on 'rich' grass. You don't need to feed the Haflinger special food or something.

      It does though, don t overfeed them, same as Icelandic horses
