Thanks so much. Training routines like this give me something to focus on/practise and make me feel I'm actually heading in the right direction instead of getting stuck and lost.
I love how clear and concise these videos are compared to the other ones that talk incessantly. He presents the issue, the options, and the solutions. Very well done.
SUPER GOOD VIDEO, getting the opponent in the corner isn't too hard, but keeping them there and getting your damage to win the round, THAT is the hard part, and I definitely needed this. Thank you
Chris, you make the best SF6 related guides. Short, succint, practical and full of information. Its almost criminal how little subscribers you have compared to some of the other content providers.
Wow thank you so much! All I can do is try my best. I don’t think about how many subs I have vs other people because I can’t control that! But what I can control is making high quality guides, so that’s what I’ll keep doing!
Thanks again for the videos man - last I commented I think I was Plat 3 - I'm now diamond 1 and very steadily climbing - master is but a matter of time
Congrats!! You should be really proud of yourself for getting to diamond! You’ll hit masters in no time. And thx for king me know, I love hearing about everyone’s progress
have you made a video already on the art of "walking forward" to threaten pokes in neutral? this is something i'm really bad at and have been trying to improve. walking forward/walking back to force opponent to do something, offensive footsies without putting out a poke first. i'll check your backlog but could be a good video if you haven't covered it already. @@Chris_F
Great video! I like how you listed the most common things people do in the corner on a throw tech, now I'm wondering what the exact percentages break down to, that way you can adjust the count in training and have training against the most common vs rare options that people do.
Thanks for watching! I think going into percentages is going into the realm of overthinking and over complicating things. The point I was trying to make is “here are some things your opponent could do, and here’s how you can practice to not be caught off guard”
Good to know on opponent tendancies after a corner throw tech. Maybe I can figure out a Drive Rush check button in training, like MP, etc. Nice character-specific ones as well, including Ken H Dragonlash. Forgot what to do vs that, so maybe jab on its startup works (as you showed). Thanks for the vid.
Hey Chris, I am a new player in sf6 without much fighting game experience. I've been losing to a gold friend and he is kinda bad also, but he is able to destroy me because I don't know what is going on. This situation demotivates a lot because I have the theory down, but he presses buttons and I don't know how to punish his playstyle. Guess fighting games aren't for me, I have good execution in training mode, but when it comes to real matches I can't apply anything I know, I feel the game moves too fast for me
I think that’s a common issue most new players have. If you send me a DM on twitter/X with some replays of your play with your friend I can go over it with you next time I stream and offer some advice.
I just started playing mortal kombat 1 about 1.5 weeks ago and while things are more negative in that game, moves also startup slower than SF6. Finding gaps with your 4F normals is a pretty big part of SF6 so I’d start with that!
Using your fastest normal (4F) to find holes in your opponent’s offense. For example, if they always do one light attack (blocked) -> throw, then you can use a 4F normal to stuff their throw startup.
what can i do when im cornered and they're pressing buttons and no matter what i press i get stuffed and i end up just parrying n then get thrown. so frustrating 😫 do you have a video for that by any chance?
While that’s true, there are things we can practice to prepare us to react to the most common things people will do in certain situations. This is one reason why strong players are able to place highly in tournaments on a consistent basis.
actually you can expect many things from your opponent. low level/intermediate players often react predictably or revert to autopilot patterns under stress/pressure, especially if they’re cornered. And what they think is random or unexpected the top player has already seen and dealt with 100 times before. all that to say - the video is gold!
"sf6 can be a stressful game" that should be the official tag line....
Thanks for covering something ive never even thought about 😂
Tried to go over something I thought people might have not considered before. Glad I was right! Thx bro!
One of your best guides so far. Super clear, super smart, super concise, super useful. Amazing work, Chris_F.
Thank you SO much for the kind words! I will do my best to make my next videos even better
Thanks so much. Training routines like this give me something to focus on/practise and make me feel I'm actually heading in the right direction instead of getting stuck and lost.
That’s exactly why I made this video! Thx bro I’m so glad it helped you!
Great tips! Also, great song choices! (Super Turbo is my favorite fighting game ever)
Old fighting game music just hits different
PRetty sure that this is the perfect video. Comprehensive. Instructive. Has VO and Subs. Universally applicable

I always try to make my videos as concise and to the point as I can, so I’m happy to hear that you enjoy my editing style! Thx for tuning in
Fantastic video! Love how you went through each situation and using examples for different characters. Please keep those videos coming!
You got it! Making these videos has been a blast!
thanks for actually explaining the options and how to go about learning them
Happy to help!

Honda should be able to check drive rush with st MP and cr MP
@@Chris_F Thanks. I had a feeling that was the buton.
Amazing video
Glad you think so!

i have the same issue as well...i am very good in nrs games but sf6 i feel it rewards mashing because moves are not very negative

@@Chris_F since you r so kind, i prepared the training against ken, but today disappeared. Is there a way to save it?

Unfortunately there is no single answer. I’ll try to cover this in my next twitch stream and make a quick guide if I can
@@Chris_F wait you have a twitch? im following lol
@Ryan-jl1el thank you!
SF6 IS a stressful game and it get worse once you are in the corner 😅
Stressful but a ton of fun!
You can't expect anything from your opponent. He doesn't play your game, he is not a bot.
