    These are going to break the Unofficial Word Records for 8x8 & 9x9. It's going to happen and I'm excited for it. Really hope QiYi, Yuxin, and MoYu take note and start releasing magnetic versions of their larger order hardware

      TBH they probably just don't want to spend the time. The mf8 is really good when magnetized and with lighter springs actually. I have a 3:26 and UWR is 3:25 on the same cube. Anyu Zhang got a 3:45 on the diansheng so it's clearly good as well.

      @@Prec1pitationYes I don't know why they still didn't launch the 8×8 version of MGC 🥺 I waited a long for the launch, and now i bought qiyi 8×8...

      I picked up some pillowed 8 and 9 cubes. That causes a very odd sensation of regular cubes being concave when I move back.

  • @Kewbix

    Well i guess now theres some new cubes to add to my list lol. Also, i wonder if now other companies will compete with this and maybe it will be added to the wca!

  • @See-a-need-Phil-a-need
    @See-a-need-Phil-a-need 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    my hope is this is the start of whole line of magnetic big cubes, the design looks the same as the renders for the 23x23. it would be nice to have a line of big cubes that actually get slightly bigger as it goes, so they look right on a shelf. i have 2x2 thru 11x11 that look good but then my 12, 13, 15, 17 are all over the place in size.

    I feel like more people should be talking about this. They just released ball core versions and I feel like thats crazy. Like 8x8 and 9x9 got ball core before 4x4 or 5x5 lol

    These cubes are absolutely perfect.👌 My dream cube would be a micro 60-64mm 7x7, just for casual solves because it's fun.:) please make it happen diansheng.

    Yooooo magnetic big cubes, now that’s pretty hype

  • @DocWorm
    @DocWorm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think we'll ever see puzzles that come disassembled to save on price? With high-end cube prices going so sky-high, I think many people (myself included) would rather just assemble the puzzle ourselves if it can save us 25-50%. I think this would be really beneficial for 5x5+, especially magnetic.
    If The Cubicle could do a video or a poll on the topic and pass the idea along to manufacturers!

    • @explosionmonty
      @explosionmonty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      why would they do it when they want to maximize profit. People even buy "premium cubes" for twice as much just because they have a logo sticker and 2 drops of lube of their favorite youtubers in it.

    • @DocWorm
      @DocWorm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@explosionmonty Imagine a big cube that costs $200. Now of course most of that cost isn't the plastic or even the number of pieces, a significant portion is paid to the people who have to assemble them. Let's say for the sake of easy math that it costs $50 to manufacture, $50 to pay workers to assemble, and $50 goes towards the past cost of designing the cube and continuing to design new cubes. At the end, the company makes $50 profit on each cube when the customer pays $200.
      Now imagine the same exact cube, but they don't assemble it. If they charged $160 for the unassembled cube, the customer saves $40, and the company earns $60 profit, more than before. It's a win win! (Except for the workers).
      Of course these numbers I've hypothesized aren't realistic, but the point is you absolutely can cut costs, lower prices, AND make more profit all at the same time. Frankly I don't see how this should come as a surprise... Cutting costs so that they can pass some of that down to the customer while still making profit is the entire business model of well-known companies like Ikea, Costco, Amazon, etc...

    • @explosionmonty
      @explosionmonty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DocWorm they would still need to pay that guy who bundles thousands of pieces and counting them so he could assemble it right away.

    • @DocWorm
      @DocWorm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@explosionmonty even if we assume that they don't have robots to do that, which they do, that would still take a human a miniscule fraction of time to count pieces than to assemble pieces.

    • @explosionmonty
      @explosionmonty 2 ปีที่แล้ว
