hey mapal, great videos! one thing I noticed in a few videos of yours now is that when you want to cut a layer, I see you use cmd+shift+d and then delete the duplicates, but there is a shortcut built into after effects that does this without having to manually delete the extra layers! if you hit alt/option + ] it will cut off the layer at the playhead. it works with hitting [ instead of ] to cut off the layer at the left side of the playhead. hitting the square brackets without using alt/option will just move the layers in/out point to the playhead. it's a small optimization but maybe you or some other viewers find this useful!
All other Dan Koe tutorials are recreation of his videos. I loved that you made a tutorial using your own elements and story. That helps quite a bunch to explain it better than the others. Kudos!
You're amazing man. I've kept coming across content in this style - or something similar - all over social and I've always wondered how the hell they make those because they look so cool. I just started learning animation & motion design a few days ago, so seeing this tutorial really blew my mind because it really does help a lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!

I really appreciate your effort, really learnt alot from your channel in the past 2 months, and am so glad i found, keep up the good work bro, we would support you all the way 🤜🤛
can you maybe make a breakdown of your sounddesign, like Sky did. Based on a project. To show your creative choise making. In spicing up your animations?
@@mapal hahah So on the 15th as we know it😂 It would be also nice to know how you level your audio if there is animation only vs with voiceover. How you take care of having always the perfekt leveling. As a reference. Thanks man for your commitment!❤
I'm new here in your channel. It's been 2/3 days maybe here. Your every video is literally awesome. From my point of view this channel is literally a hidden gem. Wish you good luck on your journey. Also I've a question, in many of your videos there are tons of sfx that I literally don't know where to get. So if you could mention the sites, it'd be a great help.
Hi maypal,I saw your other tutorials that you had made earlier and i think they are really great but i can't follow the tutorials, because you don't leave an asset of the photos and videos you have in your tutorial, so if you can do that in future tutorials it would be great or maybe could you tell me the reason why you dont share the assets used in the tutorial? (You are a great teacher)
Thank you! I release the project files on my Patreon. With that being said some files you aren’t allowed to share from a legal perspective. There is a big difference between using something in your work and redistributing the original file. In those cases I give a direct link to where I found said asset. Hopefully that makes sense!
PLEASE can you tell me how this sound effect is called on 0:30 - 0:35 when the text is popping which sound effect you used there and where did you downloaded it from?
Thanks for answering , which tweaks have you added to the sound effect? and do you remember by any chance how the sound effect is called on Artlist?@@mapal
good video! question, 2:51 , how come when you moved the ball to the left side, the corner was round right away? im pretty new into the after effects world rn so thats why im asking
At 1:51 ish I increased the roundness of the rounded rectangle a bunch. That way as long as it’s a perfect square it looks like a circle. Hopefully that answers your question!
When you use overlord how do you make it so your 'shape' only consists of one layer? When I import a png to AI and use image trace --> expand, I get 10+ individual shape layers that then also get imported to AE. Do you have a solution to this?
You can change it in settings although its a bit more complicated than that. There are a good few videos on it if you look up something like "change colour of after effects"
You look like to be a crack in After Effects dude, big respect! Can I ask you a question? How do you have "rounded fill edges" with Ellipse extrusion in After Effects (C4d render), I mean, you know, having "true bold" round and fill extrusion (like a donut?) not a thin one (try it in the software if isn't understandable (sorry for that)). Sorry I'm a noobie and still dont find the solution in the internet
Thank you hahah! As far as I know Ae for some reason doesn’t have spheres or donuts. Honestly don’t know why. You can fake it using a few different effects but your best option is probably using cinema4d lite to get a donut shape in your comp
Hey, Thanks for these awesome tutorials! Your work is amazing, and I hope you continue the series ahead for us. However, I have a request that if you could please help me out with some text animations done in an Indian education channel called Harshit dweidi Education! I really find his text animations in shorts awesome!
@mapal cool! I'm really lucky that l could find you on TH-cam 😄 Your videos are perfect. Your specific art style, your video edit mode, and all of them make me excited. You're unreal. I don't even use AE and I learn so much watching you

Dope tutorial! I freaking love the little tips for the sauce at the end, it helped level up my work so much
Hahah I’m glad it’s helpful! Adding just that little bit extra at the end can really help pull everything together
This was brilliantly made, easy to understand and spot on to the nature of a Dan Koe animation. Definitely going to binge watch all you other videos!
"Give it some sexy speed." Great tutorial brother. Thank you for this.
It’s the cure for anything!

Say less 🫡
Man, I really love your videos. Road to 100k!
Aye thank you! Definitely working towards it!!!
Solid tutorial, try setting key frame interpolation to special/linear to get nice sharp bounces… if that’s the desire.
Bro,how do you manage your consistency . your videos are on another level
Notion. Being organised is the key! Getting into a routine is also really helpful
Great work with good heart

top as usual ❤
amazing tutorial broo loved it , but can you please tell me where to fine those sfx used in this animation?
ARTLIST!
3 month take course and paid money to learn no one teach me like you thanks really for all thing
Aye that’s sick! Appreciate that
A quick question, how did you make your path rounded like that mine is straight line? Thanks
If you right click the position keyframes -> Keyframe interpolation -> Change the Spatial Interpolation from Linear to any of the Bezier Options
Great video, if you do comprehensive tutorial on how to Animate like Iman Gadzhi you will have tons of views.

yo man, i love that transition with the difference blending mode, where did you get that?
It’s from a pack from acidbite!
When you use overlord how do you make it so your 'shape' only consists of one layer? When I import a png to AI and use image trace --> expand, I get 10+ individual shape layers that then also get imported to AE. Do you have a solution to this?
nvm I had the 'explode shapes' option enabled :)
I like importing it into Ae as one and then if I need to split it up I use Motion Tools’ extract shapes feature! Gives me a bit more flexibility
How did you change the colour of the playhead and other elements of your AE programme to that lime green?
You can change it in settings although its a bit more complicated than that. There are a good few videos on it if you look up something like "change colour of after effects"

Hi, I love the tutorial, but how did you add speed to the animation? Can you pls tell me that? It would be of great help.
What do you mean by speed? Like sexy speed? If so that’s a plugin called flow and “sexy speed” is one of my presets for that plugin
@@mapal Thanks a lot! :)
@@mapal do you have the sexy speed preset listed somewhere? Thanks!
At 3:07 I cannot see the curve lines on my preview window, anyone knows how to enable them??

very nice content

How to add sound that match motions

I use a program called Screen Studio to record my screen and then I just record video straight on the cam. Then I combine and edit in davinci

That's for the GPU / CPU optimisation i guess
Nice 👏🏾
what is the name of the plugin that imports from illustrator into after effects
It's a plugin called Overlord made by Battle Axe
Hey Mapal, Awesome video I had question what software do you use to screen record your videos?

name of the plugin for illustrator to send vector file to after effect ?
Overlord!
hey mapal, great video
do you think it's possible to do something like that using only premiere ?
You could probably get close however you’ll probably get the best results in Ae just because it has more juice to offer
