    Nice new function. BUT (!) the priecing is ... hmm... not so nice. i mean, $3 extra for 1 a function, that should be a basic security feature is - i cant find a nice word.

      And to get all this in "one" package (Remote help, Endpoint privileges, Tunnel for MAM) is $10 per device.. :| Price is steep.

    Microsoft is pricing everything new as add-ons. With this, Teams Premium, and some more stuff coming in the next few months, you are quickly adding $20-30 per user per month on top of even an E5 license. Maybe there will be an E7, but right now I would look at all your options. Do not assume that there would not be an Intune Suite Premium license in a few years as well with even MORE new stuff for a higher price.

    • @AndyMaloneMVP
      @AndyMaloneMVP  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess they have to cover increases in costs as well. Prices are up everywhere. I know it sucks 😩

    • @NoTechHacker
      @NoTechHacker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this is more than covering costs. For just the privilege elevation piece ($3 per month), I can get a competing product from BeyondTrust for significantly less ($60k per year vs $360k). When we purchased E5, it was marketed as the premier tier. Add-ons are one thing, but these costs, even with a significant discount in an EA, are just too much.

    I'm fairly new to the world of Intune and as an admin of a global estate with multiple countries, I need to be able to identify the devices that are given a "Default" scope tag. Is there a simple way to find these devices and work out why the correct scope tag(s) haven't been applied?

    Part of our problems today is a terrible failure of consistency. So many people are having to re-do their work and training because some people at Microsoft decide to rework platform, name, UI, features, licensing. Its become the number one problem with Microsoft, and it ruins whatever they do and whatever they roll out. I'll get into doing something only to find that a chunk of hidden stack needs E5 licensing or some other painful barricade/hurdle to doing things. And in security areas especially.

    • @AndyMaloneMVP
      @AndyMaloneMVP  ปีที่แล้ว

      Remember that in comparison to Windows server and products of the past. The cloud is an evergreen service that is constantly evolving and changing. In order to keep up-to-date we must constantly review the Microsoft 365 roadmap. By doing this, you’ll have an idea of what’s coming rather than being shot at when it arrives and you’re not ready for it. Thanks again for your comment and input 👍

      @@AndyMaloneMVP I've been in IT since the 90s. And this is not aimed at you in any way - its aimed directly at Microsoft. I watched the video. I've watched the pain of Intune now for years. Many of the 'features' being lauded were in tooling that Microsoft removed. Back in the day, people have forgotten that much of the tooling was present in what we had. Microsoft messenger had chat, remote support, screen and tool sharing. Its 2023 - I'm watching the MS lead talking about how 'Chat' is coming soon.
      Really. 'Chat' is coming soon.
      We have fundamentally had the tooling. Its been removed - and its being sold back to us at a higher price tag, with a per capita price increase. 'Its only $3 per person if you are on E3 blah blah. I'm then meant to robotically go out into the world and sell this on to customer bases. The eat all your security by menu payment game is disgusting. We're actively in a game where vendors are base insecure and the game now is that 'we can crank what they pay' to try to get out of the hole we are in.
      *I work at an MSP. Chat and remote tooling tools are used. As much as I see some people cooing in the comments, I'm just going to say that people either are new and arn't aware of the tooling being removed and resold back at a higher price, or are just fans - which is fine. No harm no foul. But IMHO intune and several other parts of MS are years behind in what was/is, and the resale of capability that we already had is for me a grind. Microsoft and many in the industry need to do better. The buy E5 + bolt on games to get/find security are disgusting.
      Microsoft today ships as default user setup being admin. In 2023. The admin account has too much rights but lets setup people like its 1998. The first thing we do in setup is hook that account to cloud. The guy in the video laments that security has gotten crazy lately. Yea, no kidding. I wonder how things can be so bad /sarcasm/.

    All of this is nice, but for the small to mediume business, this is outside of the price range. I find that these new suite options would only benefit large organizations that are already using these features but via other applications and want to consolidate.

    I just started a new IT job and I was eventually told I replaced a guy that got sacked because he used his home gaming PC to VPN into the company network and then jump on SCCM to do some tasks. Because he had admin privileges, a virus on his computer started locking out files and folders all over the network. I'm guessing it was ransomware. After over a month or so, my boss is now getting things back to normal with a lot of virtual machines having to be dumped and re-created.
    What is it about Intune that would help stop such a breech? Are there safeguards in place with the newer version? The company uses Azure and MS 365.

    • @AndyMaloneMVP

All the best, Andy
