  • Dad and I fished the Mississippi River and then moved to shallow water to catch a few channel cats. I didn't get much into the commentary and talking with the camera, but I did get the big takedowns and some big Blue Cats. I hope you enjoy!!!

      Yes sir! I agree. My Dad and I do everything we can together. I spent a large chunk of my life in the Marine Corps away from family, so now we're fishing, building something or just hanging out almost every weekend.

      Thank you. I spent 15 years in the Marines away from my parents. Mom passed before I retired and now I'm playing catch up with my Dad. Your Dad sounds like he was a great man!

      I've since gotten a quality mic. These gopros on mounted to the boats intensify every sound. It's not as bad when you're on the boat. It's annoying watching the video though and trying to edit them.

      I use muddy river Catfishing blue cat rods and my dad uses tangling with catfish rods which are the green ones. He's using his rippin lips rods this year though

      We keep fish under 10lbs when we do keep them. Blues and flatheads both taste good though. I mostly catch and release.

      It was about 26ft or more. The water was up pretty good though. Normally it's about 16ft there.

      I live in the St Louis area, but fish anywhere from Iowa to Kentucky along the Mississippi

      We fish from St Louis to Kentucky and the Missouri from St Louis almost all the way to Kansas City. Almost all of my videos are from different locations along those rivers.

      We catch and release pretty much every fish we catch. If we need fish for the house, we target small fish and don't keep anything near 10lbs. I'm 100% for selected harvesting and CPR for all fish over 10lbs.

      Unlike a lot of people, we focus on selective harvesting to protect our population of big fish. If we want to keep fish, we will target smaller fish that aren't the major breeders. I spend time with my dad for the memories and not to fill someone's freezer. We still get down with a nice fish fry, but remember to always Catch Photo and Release anything over 10lbs.
