      It's pretty common for musicians to read music like a story, emotion is one of the best way to color music that's why you need to interpret music with deeper story to be able to deliver the music beautifully. That's how smart they are, I love musicians.

    So, the Travail trailer from back in 2020 named each Chapter of the story, and the name of Natlan's is "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection." So, from that it would seem resurrection plays some sort of role in the story.
    Great look at some of the finer details behind the music, very entertaining and informative! Would definitely love to see this for their other Nation symphony performances as well.

    Bro actually has INSANE musical talent. Being able to memorize a 16 bar melody after hearing it only twice is crazy already (at least for me), but TRANSCRIBING it at 99.99% accuracy? Yeah quitting music is the most viable option for me haha. Definitely the real "genshin ost analysis" video I wish existed all over youtube. Keep cooking and you'll grow in no time.
    Edit: I forgot to mention the sheer accuracy of the lore you deduced literally just from listening to the theme. I can't believe those subtle melody and chord movements means so much to the lore and the overall progression of the ost itself.

    • @MLoren1
      @MLoren1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To be honest, this piece is really motif driven and that section was really simple to play since both my hands barely need to move (like it's not a crazy arpeggio), the tempo isn't fast, and the bass is just the same pattern repeated. All the stars just lined up for that. I'm glad you enjoyed watching and don't quit lol. Transcribing music is just a side effect of perfect pitch, but real musical skill comes from creating and playing music with emotion :)

    You are one of the very few music analysts I have seen that reacts to Genshin and really breaks down the song sand talks about why certain things work / sound good, and using music theory as well. Usually people are just like "Oh that’s so cool!" and then they move on, but you are analyzing motifs left and right, and replicating them as well on the piano! Incredible. I really hope you listen to more Genshin music if you haven’t already, as there is a lot of very interesting musical diversity and choices that will keep you hooked. Whats fascinating to me is in swahili word dunia means world same as in bahasa melayu malaysia,brunei,indonesia,singapore
    Ndugu which means brothers,in Philippines we say Kadugo, which also means first blood relative like brothers, sisters etc.
    Language is truly fascinating.knowing africa is too far away from south east asia😅

      Only cause that section was easy. Both my hands barely have to move in many of those sections, and the harmony is predictable so i already have an idea of what it could be seconds before I reach it. Also, the tempo is slow, and the patterns are repetitive so all the stars align to make them easy to play. Trust me there are many sections in those pieces that I won't be playing perfectly on a first try haha

Watching you immidiatly you immidiatly play along with the piano was mindblowing and lovely to see.

      only cause that section repeated so many times and it's actually really easy to play on piano since both your hands barely need to move (like it's not some crazy piano run or jumping all over the place), the tempo is slow, and the pattern is pretty short and has built in rest stops. Believe me there are many other sections in those pieces that I would not be able to instantly play on a first try let alone in real time as the piece is playing haha

    This is by far the best analysis video I've watched. You don't pause the video every few seconds and let the music play while you give your reactions, then pause in crucial moments to give your insight.
    I've always loved Genshin's symphonies but I'm not too well versed in music theory, but you explained everything (with your piano examples, wow!) in a way that exactly matches why I feel that way in certain parts of the music. Gives a whole different perspective that I can appreciate.

    The way you choose your words to express how you feel about the music is concise, and sometimes it also comes out profound. More props to you if you're doing this without following a script and you're just saying whatever comes to mind (even if you have a script, then it just shows how thoughtful you are in trying to express your ideas to your audience).
    Genshin music has a lot of fans, so I understand if you stick to their music more. But I am a lot more excited if you do reactions/analysis of music from other games with great OST.

    • @MLoren1
      @MLoren1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not following a script but it took many days of dealing with nerves to find the state of mind to listen to and catch as many musical elements as I could while pausing after what I deem to be "sections" of music. But definitely for tracks I've already listened to like the rest of the Live Symphonies, I'll jot down points of interest so I can provide even better insight and those videos won't have a first time reaction title like "Perfect Pitch Pianist Discovers..." I think for now mainly Genshin music but I will definitely expand to other games Ive played and havent played like Atlus' Persona or Metaphor, Platinum's NieR: Automata, Square Enix's FFVII Remake, Octopath, and so on

    Gotta hear more videos like this about Genshin's music cause it's absolutely phenomenal what they're capable of doing. They take instruments you wouldn't expect and put them with your typical classical ones to create new sounds that's just entirely unexpected. And the language they want to get across is always so clear, like each and every song has a story to tell. I'd love to hear more of your excitement and breakdowns of Genshin's music.

      Ye I was definitely surprised by the fusion of traditional instruments with western harmony. The level of composition is great and it holds so much emotion. They definitely know how to use tension and release to play with your harmonic expectations.

    Hello from a fellow perfect oitch haver! You have an incredible harmonic pitch, it seems, and your analysis of some moments is so useful to me - you're one of the people who make me understand what I was taught years ago in music school 😂 I mostly hear melodies, not chords, so, the top note (usually 😅) and seeing the chords is helpful for me in developing my listening skills in music! Definitely subscribing
    I also wonder if the differences in our hearing are related to the instruments we play since mine is much more melody-oriented and chords are actually not played with all notes together at the same time (violin) with most techniques

    • @MLoren1
      @MLoren1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow hello fellow perfect pitch haver! I definitely think that the instrument you play affects perfect pitch cause I think perfect pitch still needs to be actively practiced to be maintained and can be trained to unlock new skills in the skill tree. There was a period of about 3 years where I got severely burnt out from piano and basically didn't listen to any music and my ability to identify notes in complex dissonant chords (like jazz chords) got hit.

    • @atriyakoller136
      @atriyakoller136 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @MLoren1 yeah! I'm a violinist and I have spent some time with a pianist back when I was at school - his perfect pitch definitely worked differently to mine, he needed a bit longer to identify notes.
      I don't play very often anymore, sadly, and even though I still listen to a ton of music, my perfect pitch did get hit - I sometimes struggle with identifying sharp and flat notes - I just hear the whole range of 2-3 notes as the note's name haha. Plus, being someone whose main instrument is mostly one note at a time, I definitely agree. I'm now slowly learning to listen to more than one note at a time haha.
      Also, I remember that transposing a song into a different key was my worst nightmare since I had to think about every note individually, but I've sung in a choir when I was at university (my choir class at music school was replaced by a violin ensemble class) and since it was an amateur choir, we didn't have very powerful voices and had to transpose songs a lot, which actually led to me developing the skill 😅

    • @MLoren1
      @MLoren1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Only because the sections I played were easy, both my hands didn't have to move much (like it wasn't some crazy piano run), the motif also repeated many times, and melody had breaks and pauses, and the tempo wasn't very fast. There's lots of sections that I can't immediately play back. haha Thanks for watching and I appreciate that sub!

    Would absolutely love a full piano cover if you were so inclined! Awesome breakdown. Say what you will about the game or gacha in general, but the music is truly art.
    If you are open to further suggestions, I can’t stress enough how awesome ‘Die Mittsommernacht-fantasie’ is, one of the most mind blowing songs hoyo mix has produced. Also every boss battle theme. If you quit early during the liyue time, then there’s a treasure trove of music to discover!

      I planned a piano cover but I think I'll integrate piano covers into my eventual playthrough of the game kinda like a "Perfect Pitch Pianist Plays All of Genshin's Music (working title)" kinda thing. i enjoyed this reaction so much! about your "cooking session".. in Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail trailer video each region has their own chapter title. for example in Liyue it was "Farewell, Archaic Lord". in Natlan it was "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection". you are almost there with your deduction!
