So I think because they avoided the first death flag the story is evolving to hurt Luke by having a betrayal...Thoughts? See my full uncut live reactions to the episodes over on Patreon www.patreon.com/BrandonReviews
That would make sense since she needs to learn about things in terms of romance in order to work on the romance movie back home, so that would also support the idea of her going back. It's like she can't go back until she learns enough about romance in order for her to have an easier time of working on the romance movie.
That's not just a Magical Girl anime thing, He-Man, Thunder Cats, Power Rangers, Voltron cartoons have been running the same shot power up or attack since cartoons were invented. I started out wanting to do animation back in the 80's, by the 90's I'd switched to comic art. But yeah, you're going to get that same shot technique with that type of power. And yes I'm old, I just love Animation still.
This episode with events changing reminds me of Why Raeliana ended up at the duke's mansion as the main characters prevent key moments the world changes from the book or movie their knowledge comes from
The plot thickens... I was hoping we would get something that will keep us guessing since so far her knowledge of the movie has really helped out these characters. But like with any film or story... If you change one or two things... The result isn't always going to be the same. In some cases... It can be drastically different. Now this is very concerning... The priest situation was supposed to happen much later into the movie so things are starting to shift around and it's because Natsuko had the ability to change it. In the original movie... This day was supposed to be a sad day with a funeral for Unio and all the fallen soldiers but now it's a harvest festival. There is gonna be a point where she can't guess the events anymore and that can lead to so many things that gets me excited. Is Memeruln a traitor? Maybe... I need a bit more context and Natsuko seems to be suspecting it but we wait and see on that one. Destiny is a fun character. I thought I wasn't gonna like her. These characters can be hit or miss depending on their personality and if they are annoying but Destiny is a pure hearted girl, who wants to have freedom but understands that for the good of the town, she'd marry to some flamboyant Joe who has 8 wives who have to dress like he wants otherwise they're not beautiful. I love Natsuko's response to it though. It is exactly how you should describe beauty... It's not how you look or act but how you are as a person and the freedom to wear and do what you want. I can't believe she drew a cat wrestler... I loved the Itano Circus missiles last week but this was absolutely amazing ngl. The moves it was pulling and Natsumo being the commentator... So good. 😂 Yeah, I don't care that her animation for when she gets an idea and goes to her desk is reused. I think it's the charm and the "magical girl" transformation of the show. It fits... And it only works once per episode... If you repeat it more it loses its charm. Really great episode... I loved this one even more than the last two and if keeps this up... This may be the best new anime of winter who knows... I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Great review Brandon... Keep up the great work.
I particularly liked her providing the running commentary on the fight and calling out her wrestler's special moves (plus remarking on how much animation she had to pour into them). Also, while they made it clear last episode that people can see her writing desk in-world, the void critter perceiving it and her as a threat and the robot having to defend her was a nice extra touch.
The bad guys gotta advance their timeline because their attacks aren't progressing. Probably something from the original character notes indicating the elves were the force behind the Voids, maybe.
It felt like this episode set up the expectation to have your expectations be challenged. The hero who tries to always be prepared instead always seems totally unprepared for the challenges facing Last Town even with a love interest at risk, the guardian mascot willing to self-sacrifice to save others is incredibly vain, the stoic supporting team member actually has friends and seems reliable but comes off to the audience as highly suspect, and the aristocrat born with a silver spoon in her mouth venerates awesome feats of strength with the goal of peacekeeping to the point of wanting to emulate it and is in very good physical shape for how sheltered she is. The self-absorbed MC who is forced to break out of their shell to get along with this cast and survive is the real hero and the mysterious will that enables her super power only at certain moments is a wild card. Natsuko's behavior has changed for the better within the course of 3 episodes moreso than some characters do in a whole season. She's also clearly demonstrated her creativity not just in bringing her super powered summons to life, but also weeding out the imposter priest in a way that caught it off guard. I love the messaging that even a quirky introvert can make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Fantastic episode! I loved every second of so many things from the dress, to the unicorn hitting on woman, natsuko doing her pose when helping destiny, the crazy moves she pulled and don’t even get me started on the wrestling match 😂😂😂. I love this anime. It is concerning though, the more she’s changed things it definitely seems like the events of the future will change from the plot. Im also definitely interested to see why the elf is a traitor.
They're highlighting these 3 day cooldowns for a reason...I fully expect at some point for her to sleep through some wild shit that happens. Also, Desting reminds me of Rebecca from One Piece with that outfit😅
I think the more Natsuko draws, the bigger the butterfly effect. Between her conversation with Granny as well as the fake Priest showing up, I think she is slightly aware that the storyline is starting to deviate. However, I think she is aware of Memmeln's subplot, which was probably explained in the movies. i think while her prediction will become less accurate, she still know enough background of each character to work things out
I think at this point it’s clear she has completely changed the time line of events. This doesn’t mean people’s loyalties are thoughts are changing however, but with key point being changed is making them pull cards earlier then they would have and turning sad moments into happy ones. Now that an attack like this has changed times I doubt she will have any time reference on the next attacks. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a grasp on ideas floating in their heads on how to attack or what will attack. (Like playing poker changing a flipped card doesn’t change what’s in your hand but can very much change how you play your hand) There is a good chance she is already aware of that girls secret, likely unchanged.
Hmm. Since people didnt like original movie maybe her additional in the world will create a revised and more popular version. Here's a funny thought the Revised version of the movie is liked more than original because her involvement (which might be represented by her or character that look like her) changes the story from Fantasy to Isekai
It was a wonderful episode! The party, Luke meeting Destiny and Serval Cat vs Void Mantis.... They were all incredible 🫡👀 But with Natsuko looking at the Elf heroine in a suspicious way.... The betrayal from the Elf is a interesting but tragic possibility 🤔
I might be weird in hoping that she is isekaied to this world for an arc and then wakes back up in the real world, finishes her new movie, and gets isekaied somewhere else for her next writers bloc..
Yah, something is up with the elf, if you look at the person with the cloak who summoned the void in the beginning, her necklace matches the elf's necklace memmeln at the end, even the hair kinder similar, i dont know something is up with those elfs

Vibe checking the 2 priests to expose the bug is truly peak cinema.

Girl brought in Tiger Mask to lay the Smackdown on that prey mantis 😂
That was so awesome and totally unexpected.
I also love the fact that this is an all-original story by Studio Mappa.

The liturgy and priests in the Tale of Perishing world are weird.
If my suspicions about the Elf 9 soldier ends up true, then I bet the 3 day nap is all the time the void need to reek havoc.
Oh lord what a Thumbnail. 🤣
You're welcome

Yeah, there is no doubt that Natsuko has changed the storyline. How she is going to adapt to it is what I am looking forward to.
this ep story sounds like nacho libre
Funny thing the person in ep 2 who animated the missiles said it took him about a month, Natsuko is built different to do it in 3 days lol
Based
I laughed out loud a few times during this episode.
That means "Success".
I might be weird in hoping that she is isekaied to this world for an arc and then wakes back up in the real world, finishes her new movie, and gets isekaied somewhere else for her next writers bloc..
At that point we know she is just high on shrooms late at night

I was wondering what else she could draw up and a Pro Wrestling Cat was not what I had in mind.
The elf is the one in the hood from the early scene. Who saw the void.
Maybe this is why mappa has delays in general, they get isekai haha. This show is cool, very vibrant characters.
Can't wait for red power ranger isekai tomorrow. Because episode 2 was great.
Elf girl looks sus
