hehehe, I feel you. Was shocked to learn I needed Int for a quest. This might be a first, I don't remember any other quest in DS or BB which required specific stat points. I may be wrong though.
@@tagpelicious You just need to think smarter. There are enough int boosting items and flasks + godrick's rune that allows you to reach 37 int even with a base of 6.
It annoys me that the Law of Regression incantation requires Int instead of Faith, what went wrong there? Edit: It seems like I’m just a dummy who can’t do his homework properly.
I feel the same way, its just another of the game's many "fuck you" moments. Most players concerned with this npc would be Faith builds, so why lock this quest behind such a high Int requirement 🤔.
Gameplay wise I got nothing. But lore wise, it's a fundamentalist incantation, so it makes some sense. Goldmask's fundamentalist preachings concern intelligence as much as faith, allowing people to recognize the gods greed and faults as rulers, especially Marika.
Well, gameplay-wise it is one of the more powerful pvp spells, it can literally cancel out buff builds. The lore, I think, is much more interesting. The Golden Order fundamentalists must have realized that their devout faith was blinding them to the actual inner workings of the world and the Golden Order, so they decided to take a different approach. Unlike the mages and priests of old, who rely on intelligence or faith almost exclusively, the madlads decided to study God, mixing faith and intelligence. Eventually they came up with the 2 main laws of causality and regression.
I know I had the book but now it’s not in my inventory. I guess I gave it to someone else on accident. Damn lol. Unless I’m missing something because I don’t have the option to give him the book. (Update) I gave it to the turtle in the church of vows. He sold me the incantation needed for the quest so it worked out
The prayer book never appeared in my inventory after I got it. I don’t know if it is a glitch, but it’s gone and I guess that is why the spell doesn’t work at the statue.
Marika was chosen by the greater will which allowed her to ascend to power, she then split herself in half so that there would be a male and female form of the same entity then she had children with her male counterpart… in turn creating all of the Demi-gods.
@K L Ranni by definition must also be a child of Marika and Radagon, because she is an Empyrean, which is a demigod born from one god just like Malenia and Miquella.
So I followed the guide up until 18:50 but what is the scene or how do I get to the next part where you were engulfed in fire? I'm confused what to do after talking to Scribe Corhyn on the bridge in the snow area?
another tip for those who cant do the QUest due to not having the stats Just Respec with Larval tears with Rennala do the Incatation stuff and just respec back there's PLENTY of larval tears in the game
Ok so all you had to do was exhaust his dialogue on the mountain that's all I wanted to know. The information online about once he reaches the Mountain is extremely vague. ...also there is a much faster rout to reach the bridge, if you start at the ancient snow valley ruins site of grace, take a left at the fork in the river towards the shack of the lofty there will be an air lift near the cliff. If you double jump at the peak of the jump you will clear the second Cliff and be right at the bridge in half the time and you can avoid everything else.
For me Cohryn is dead, I've progressed up to faram azula but malekith is still alive, and gold mask is nowhere to be found in any of his locations. Not sure what I did wrong, but Cohryn for me seemed to have never got to meet gold mask at the bridge in altus plateau. No gold mask or cohryn for me past this point in the quest, can't do this quest line sadly for the first playthrough.
I can still talk to Cohryn in Altus but the capitol is ashen and the tree burns though I have not killed the final boss, gold mask is nowhere to be found.
@@syahnovlikuartapama5401 A possibility I'm thinking, I had progressed dung eaters quest line tbrough to the end I believe by this point, it may have ended this quest line for me.
So what's the big idea? The golden order was made perverse somehow? What was the point of the red cross that he reaches to? Does it signify the death of the perversion?
The golden order was not perfect because gods could do whatever stupid stuff they wanted, the red cross is the rune of death which you take to kill Marika
the red rune is the rune of death that marika gave to maliketh to protect (stolen by Ranni to do the knight of black knives and leading to the shattering) maliketh gets it back and when we touch it i believe it dispells the rune of death back into the lands between?
Huh, i remember taking to that guy at the bridge but i didn't know he was goldmask, when I returned to Corhyn i was trying to remember "when did i meet him!?"
@@Ghost-qn5ye like why in the trailer and open, it's clearly Marika being the one that held in the fractured ring. But when we fight the boss, the name is Radagon. At this point I can only hope to wait for lore video to explain things.
@@PScaotay In the E3 2019 trailer they show both a man trying to mend the ring and a woman shattering it in the same spot. Another clue that they are the same entity probably the Elden Beast.

Love how is somewhat a reference from Demon souls were the Priests believed miracles were created by god and the sorceries were created from the demons , yet in fact both were created by the same source. That broke GoldMask yet he found balance from the realization
Hear me out DLC theory, it goes /ahead/ in time, since so many things in elden ring had a "wait" element to it Malenia and the scarlet blossom near her arena being reborn, Miquella being "hatched", the audience with the mohg thingy for varre, ofnirs gaining of knowledge, The rune of death, and the frenzied flame ending suggesting there may be /more/ to it Perhaps this dlc could add multiple new endings, one with varre/moghs dynasty rising to power (maybe you or him even replace mohg?), an ending with the frenzied flame again where chaos fully takes the world and you accomplish your goals fully, rot overtaking the world, everything like that. Some of these might seem a little out there but.. The dung eater ending was real, so it's not too far out there. My theories for bosses/enemies are: Malenia 2.0, full-power mohg, melina, perhaps even something relating to astel because of rannis ending, etc
Sorry but, where does Cohryn go at the end? Before taking the Order Rune from Goldmask? He just disappears? What about his Bell Bearing? There is always an obtainable one regardless of progress.
i am curious: do you keep the rune of mending order when you start ng+ but didnt use it? or will the item disappear from your inventory and you have to do the questline all over again?
@@saihv yeah it does disappear, including other key items such as the needle or the prince of deaths rune and also your big runes. i just started ng+2 and will plat the game after the next 5 bosses within this run, so in about 2 hours. so plan exactly in which run you want to do what, since the long questline items do not carry over into ng+

I think it's possible there's a 6th ending with Verre / Lord of Blood since Verre told you not to go visit Lord of Blood until he's ready. So far we haven't seen how that story plays out yet.
@@zerohero5753 Actually, Games From Mars just discovered another Dung Eater ending. So that makes it 6 already. With Lord of Blood it would be 7. Just need to wait to see if someone can figure out how that one works.
@@Yic17Studio so we havent a gideon ofnir ending? He gave me some strange incantation but i cant figure out how that can effect his quest
@@Fuzful Sounds like you haven't finished the game? It's a minor spoiler but he'll show up in the main story towards the end so I don't think he has an ending of his own.

lmao 😂
As a man of culture, I never worked so hard watching everything you did to get that costume.

I was having trouble dropping down to collect the mending ruin in capital of ash kept dying . Look real closely he doesn't land on the ground but on the hand railing aim for that won't fail cheers to the op this saved me tons of time new subscriber here
I have the option to give Cohryn the tonic for forgetfulness when he is at the mountaintops of the giants, going to give it to him and see what happens
Edit: nothing happens, he doesn't accept it and just has new dialogue
My only issue with this questline is the need for intelligence for faith incantations, 20 int would be fine but 37 in is a bit much
you can get there with talismans, helmets, Great runes, and the right physick from INT 15 to INT 37
@@2darki what physick that increases int?
@@2darki from INT 9 even. Though I did it with 11, stargazer heirloom talisman +5 INT, twinsage glintstone crown +6 INT, Godrick's great rune +5 INT and Intellegince-knot Crystal Tear for Wondrous Physick +10 INT. If you don't want to waste 2 levels for INT you can also equip Marika's Soreseal (+5 to arc, int, mind and faith), I just don't have it yet so I had to lvlup.
@@sofaericsson6392 Thanks, this buffs up to 40 int from 9!

hehehe, I feel you. Was shocked to learn I needed Int for a quest. This might be a first, I don't remember any other quest in DS or BB which required specific stat points. I may be wrong though.
this quest is ridiculous. so it was designed for none-int players to not finish this questline. lol
@@tagpelicious You just need to think smarter. There are enough int boosting items and flasks + godrick's rune that allows you to reach 37 int even with a base of 6.
Ahhh wasn't aware that's one of the endings.
Oh well the game is so much of an experience that can't get spoiled by a short ending. ^^

great stuff. I enjoy alot. my comp is just not able to handle gaming anymore.

@@adonaiharris5057 yeah. My first playthrough was a faith build, and I got so tilted when I saw the 37 Int requirement. Damn it Fromsoft…
@@jo_3246 Okay, I didn’t know. Makes a lot more sense to me now.
I was standing at the base of the statue using Law of Regression... had to stand right on the msg, thanks
Thank you so much. I just wanted the mask
the T posing is hilarious
I know I had the book but now it’s not in my inventory. I guess I gave it to someone else on accident. Damn lol. Unless I’m missing something because I don’t have the option to give him the book. (Update) I gave it to the turtle in the church of vows. He sold me the incantation needed for the quest so it worked out
you just need the incantation to progress the quest
The prayer book never appeared in my inventory after I got it. I don’t know if it is a glitch, but it’s gone and I guess that is why the spell doesn’t work at the statue.
15:20 I still die from the fall, even with the longtail cat talisman.
You don't need to go up the rampart, just walk through the desert
The cat talisman doesn't do shit, homie

Can someone explain the significance of Radagon being Marika herself or why this is such a big deal to the Goldmask?
Marika was chosen by the greater will which allowed her to ascend to power, she then split herself in half so that there would be a male and female form of the same entity then she had children with her male counterpart… in turn creating all of the Demi-gods.
@K L you know any lore about miquella?
@K L what about moghwyn and morgott ??
@@asgfadel Theyre kids of Godfrey and Marika like Godwyn
@K L Ranni by definition must also be a child of Marika and Radagon, because she is an Empyrean, which is a demigod born from one god just like Malenia and Miquella.
So I followed the guide up until 18:50 but what is the scene or how do I get to the next part where you were engulfed in fire? I'm confused what to do after talking to Scribe Corhyn on the bridge in the snow area?
"Radagon is Marika"
Everybody reaction: *surprised pikachu face*
Is it? I feel like this was revealed even before the game came out, or atleast implied.
another tip for those who cant do the QUest due to not having the stats Just Respec with Larval tears with Rennala do the Incatation stuff and just respec back there's PLENTY of larval tears in the game

Alexander's Questline

Same, shit sucks how it breaks so easily
The fuck dude i think i did the same thing, lyndell already turned into ashen capital and corhyn is nowhere to be found. This suckss
The golden order was not perfect because gods could do whatever stupid stuff they wanted, the red cross is the rune of death which you take to kill Marika
the red rune is the rune of death that marika gave to maliketh to protect (stolen by Ranni to do the knight of black knives and leading to the shattering)
maliketh gets it back and when we touch it i believe it dispells the rune of death back into the lands between?
@@NecoANONYMOOSE no, we bring death back when we use a mending rune such as one that Fia made I believe, the whole point of her quest is to do that

Hear me out
DLC theory, it goes /ahead/ in time, since so many things in elden ring had a "wait" element to it
Malenia and the scarlet blossom near her arena being reborn, Miquella being "hatched", the audience with the mohg thingy for varre, ofnirs gaining of knowledge, The rune of death, and the frenzied flame ending suggesting there may be /more/ to it
Perhaps this dlc could add multiple new endings, one with varre/moghs dynasty rising to power (maybe you or him even replace mohg?), an ending with the frenzied flame again where chaos fully takes the world and you accomplish your goals fully, rot overtaking the world, everything like that.
Some of these might seem a little out there but.. The dung eater ending was real, so it's not too far out there.
My theories for bosses/enemies are: Malenia 2.0, full-power mohg, melina, perhaps even something relating to astel because of rannis ending, etc
