@@GameofTrees Honestly, I don't even think the argument was about whether the tree was one or two entities; I think the neighbor was just using that as a convenient excuse to have an argument about how they can have it both ways: they avoid responsibility about the fact that their tree is posing a risk to the client, but then they expect you to assume all the liability for the problem they refused to address. I mean, if they wanted to come at this from a position of righteousness, it should've been them calling you first to help out their neighbors, and then if they had a concern about the other tree, they could've had you take both as a package deal. Instead they acted like scumbags, and the only reason they even tried to have an argument about it is because the other tree was OBVIOUSLY a danger and they knew it had to go. I get a real strong NIMBY factor coming from the two of them, and I suspect that while I'm sure they have no problem with halfway homes, they probably don't want one near them, and I suspect that's the tension between the two properties.
You have a lot of nice safety gear, especially for a small company it says a lot. I like it; from the cones on the sidewalk, whole crew has high viz, to the "Stay back" screen for stump grinding. Professional!
And in the background you see 2 downspouts that have drain pipes all the way to a "neighbors" fence. Letting all the rain water flood a neighbors yard and not his yard! Wow! Great neighbor!!
nature’s is a school room that never closes, if you look you will learn something new each and every day! the best thing with that school you take it with you for life, and you can share it with others that are willing to learn something new each and every day. to understand pieces of what is around us, is just amazing if you are both willing to look and understand. great video, nice to see the hidden part of the story.
You are right about the designer - very intelligent design on the root/tree system. For a scoop shovel, chip cleanup, I highly recommend the A.M. Leonard poly shovel. It is thick plastic, durable, lightweight - slides over grass better than metal.
Enjoyed the video. Very interesting stuff. You are so right....want to be an expert and know what you are talking about, then you have to investigate and continue to seek knowledge. I've been around a long time and yet I learn new things every day....cause I'm always seeking.
Well, it's a done-deal now. You can shed that uneasy feeling you had and move forward with a clean conscience. I wouldn't have done it, but as I said , you're a better man than me😁
I don't know what all the neighbor drama was about. This tree(both sides) needed to come out. It was dying, split, and too big to be so close to the garage and power lines in the condition it was in.
Im glad you made an effort to make angry neighbor (AN) happy. You get an A+. AN gets an F. 1. AN shoulda taken responsibility for the tree from the getgo. Instead he left it up to the garage owner (GO) to act on the danger of the split tree looming over his garage. Im sure AN was just hoping it was gonna fall any minute so that GO’s insurance would take over. Im curious what AN told GO…”naw Im not gonna cut that tree down, Imma leave it just like that…it’ll be ok”. Im sure AN and GO arent friends to this day. I wouldnt speak to AN ever again over this. 2. AN tried to get you to sign some bogus declaration of responsibility, in case “anything in the future” happens to his tree. What a legal crock of 💩. Cheap bastich. 3. And then when game of trees (GOT) went back to view the situation, from a public sidewalk 18 months later to see if the tree shifted, AN said some pretty ugly things…because GOT had called out AN’s bull💩on youtube. And btw, AN’s hack job on the tree during those 18 months looked like 💩. AN shoulda just left the tree alone after GOT cut it, and it woulda looked ok. So in hindsight, I wouldnt have gone back and cut AN’s tree cause he’s a DH. But I get that GOT was looking for goodwill, as well as closure, as well as the final answer if those two branches were separate entities supported by one root system, and cutting one didnt kill the other. Good job GOT.
Around 28:20 - 31:00, you keep repeating that the folks who thought the dead tree would "invade" the living trees were wrong. Clearly, you know so much about tree behavior that you've forgotten what it's like to not be a tree expert. What seems kind of obvious to me (someone in that latter, more ignorant, category) is that they are conflating "dead tree" and *diseased* tree. They are imagining the tree died of a _disease,_ and that the _contagious disease_ will tend to spread into the living neighbor.
You may indeed be right, many “tree people” might not know what really happens inside, much less the average home owner. But those who consult regarding trees should know these things. Thanks for your insight.
Very interesting, thanks for taking the time to explain what was happening. I just recently had to takeout a Cherry Laurel tree that grew into and through some PVC sprinkler pipes and valve. I used a 4000psi pressure washer to remove the dirt. Then I was able to cut the stump apart and pull the roots up. Again thanks for the explanation.
Actually I think the middle one was cut down and these two grew on opposite sides of the stump to form the current two stems. Yes, I believe they were supporting each other independently.
