Brother, I've been a KFC cook for well over a year. I've been working three 14 hour shifts a week for 8 months. I feel your struggle, this job is merciless. But on the flip side, our boss and supervisors are super chill friendly stoner dudes. :)
You are extremely articulate and bright. I predict that you will be successful in life which to me means happy. The brighter we are the less employers want us. I guess they fear smart competition. In any event I found your story very enjoyable in recent light of my very bad experience with KFC this week as a customer. KFC has the finest crispy chicken on the planet but I am finding it so awful to tolerate their poor management and inconsistent serving sizes that I am hesitant to ever darken their door again. But I am a fiend of fried chicken so do not know how to deal with their problems.
Did you think KFC had a garbage man? You take out the garbage like once or twice in a day. The biggest shock i got when i first started working at KFC (as a cook) was that theres only 1. One person has to clean all the equipment, all the floors and cook all the chicken. The people at the front had it sooooo easy. All they had to do was make burgers, chips, talk to people and barely had to clean. It was fucking bullshit. I normally did all the washing up as well. Also do you not know what grave is? thats what most classic gravy is.

First time i did the cleaning of the fryers, my trainer told to to throw away "the gravy". I was like... That's not gravy ? He said... Yes that's gravy. Dude i'm never eating here again.even thou i just started working here
