I think Jesus was writing the sins of those people around her in the sand. Then they left because they knew they were guilty of sins themselves.

I dont deny that Yeshua is our cornerstone. However, to the people this prophesy was written to, King Hezekiah was the cornerstone.

1 Peter 2:4-6 quotes Isaiah 28:16 and tells us that Jesus Christ is our chosen and precious cornerstone.

@ce5032 So, does Paul, but that doesn't change the fact that to Israel and Judah, it referred to Hezekiah when it was written. Just like the "Emanuel prophecy" didn't mean a savior would come in 800 years to Hezekiah's father. Those prophecys were types that Yeshua fulfilled as the antitype.

@@GradyRisley All Scripture is God-breathed. All of the writers are inspired by the Holy Spirit. If 1 Peter clearly quotes this exact passage from Isaiah and tells us that Jesus Christ is the chosen and precious cornerstone being referred to in the passage, then He certainly is.

@ce5032 Then the prophecy meant nothing to the people it was given to. That's not how it works. Yeshua fulfilled all prophecy. He was the true stone layed in Jerusalem, just like He was true Israel, but that doesn't mean Israel didn't exist before Yeshua. Just like a true rock in which the Israelites in that day could trust was being established in Zion through Hezekiah. I'm lost as to how you can see error in that.
