    it's really hard to hear what is being said during certain parts because the music is so loud. I hope someone re-mixes the sound without the music being so loud.

    MY SYSTEM, by Aaron Nimzovitch and the Polgar book. Study these two for ten years or more--oh, you may want to look at Tal too. The rest are footnotes. LOL (Obviously my opinion.) THE IDEAS BEHIND THE CHESS OPENINGS BY RUEBEN FINE IS A CLASSIC--if you can find this book buy it--never loan this out.

    • @TheClassicWorld
      @TheClassicWorld 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wasn't 'My System' a pretty bad book? I think grandmasters have said it's bad. Most likely Fischer and Tal books are the best, also Garry's. By your comment, I would be shocked if you had a rating over 2000. Anyway, Chess book seems to be overrated, that is, not very useful. Better is to study, to play, to use the computer, and to play better players than yourself. Books have never made grandmasters. Many grandmasters don't even read books.

    • @balthazarbeutelwolf9097
      @balthazarbeutelwolf9097 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "My System" had some fancy new ideas for the time, many of which were not sound though. The more down-to-earth "The Game of Chess" by Siegbert Tarrasch has aged a bit better. And a good chess book definitely helps when you start out.

      @@TheClassicWorld and who told you that grandmasters dont rea books? From what ive heard in interviews almost all of them do

    • @TheClassicWorld
      @TheClassicWorld 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean Chess books. Most GMs don't read Chess books. I know most of them have read one or two, but nothing beyond that. I am sure that most young GMs don't bother reading, they just use the computer and so on. Of course, Bobby was known for reading just about everything on Chess, including books. And, regarding my sources, a lot of GMs have said Chess books -- most Chess books -- are bad and unhelpful. I can start citing GMs if you want, haha.

    Big money tournament?? What big $$$ tournament? I know you're not in the world's top 100, even m Ashley isn't. Players compete for a trophy and petty cash. The slice of the pie in chess tournament s is mini sized. There's NO financial security in that sport. Non-fide players competes for peanuts, no lie! Even GM Sergey Tiviakov has talked about quitting and getting a normal nine-to-five. Oh, Think I'm joking?? Look it up, son.

      @@derekwilder2432 Aha, right, and Are you strong enough to compete in those?? What's your rating? Are you at least IM strength?? Im surely not! How many times a year, or a month, am I required to snatch 1st place in one of those events in order to keep bringing the bacon at my residence's table? Not to mention rent, bills, etc., Etc. I'd love to read your answer!

      Like i said, unless one's an elite GM, 100% dedication to chess=financial instability.

      Even Bobby Fischer suffered the petite financial rewards of chess: lived in messy apartments, etc. of course that all changed later, but in beginning he was lucky enough though to have helping people who saw that his talent was worth saving. But how many of us, even though passionate about chess, are a Bobby Fischer?

      freeadvice4lost_Kate R. Pillars my ratings is 2100 yeah its a tough fight but here in Detroit you can make a decent living of chess it alot of hard work i work as a coach tournament director i have numerous chess camps and i stream chess i may not be a millionaire yet but chess pays all my bills and i have money left over. This is true i make money doing what i love. And i enjoy it its hard sometimes but i make it work
