@@MK-oz2lf Adam uses 2 amps with pretty tight low end and a third one with a bass cab to compensate; I think he is very influenced by Meshuggah and their modern "tight pick-attack tones", but also need to keep the lows because he's the only guitar player and sometimes stands lower than the bass in the mix;
@@RodrigoAndrion I listen to the first Tool recordings and even the second album when he got his VH4 and the tone is no where near as tight or scooped (in a good way) as Destroy Erase Improve or Chaosphere (Dual Rectifiers). Jones likes to blend amps with a daisy chain in the studio according to Joe Barresi producer but he is not using a booster or an OD. Even on the new record he is letting the distortion breathe and even incorporated fuzz pedals by the instagram pics I saw for Fear Inoculum. My guess if for the title track. Jones uses a modded JB pickup so his signal is way more dynamic than Meshuggah which is compressed as hell but it works well for the syncopated stuff they are doing. I think Meshuggah used a Valvestate 8100 on the first album and that is a very tight amp because it is solid state. Death and Static-X recorded with that amp as well and you can hear the fast attack from it. So no, I have to disagree with you on this one based on my memory at the moment. I like both bands nevertheless.
Andrei he’s playing his style. You don’t tune into ola englunds channel to hear blues music. Especially in this video in particular, it’s meant for heavy music and metal riffs. Maybe you’re right and we should ask him to play smooth jazz the next time he demos a high gain amp or distortion pedal.
@@BIGFUPES312 i am not waiting for them to play funk or jazz of course using a high gain amp. As if there is only one sound in metal duh.... They could try heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal or black metal and not just those generic djent riffs. To be honest, those djent thing is too overused in every "metal" youtuber reviewing gears cause it is popular to plebs.
Andrei I would agree with you if I felt like he was imitating a certain style to cater to a certain group of people but I don’t think that’s the case here. His style has always been this way and it’s consistent from video to video. If he changed now people would see that it’s not authentic. That’s why I like treys videos, you can tell it’s authentic because his playing always shines through and I’ll take that over watered down generic chug riffs any day. It might not be for you and if you want to hear someone that can play a lot of different styles then you should check out sonic drive or nik nocturnal.
Why is the sound KILLER at the very beginning riff, but a bit later at the demo it sounds just "normal". Is it because the beginning was recorded with a camera mic instead of the one infront of the cab?
Would you need a specific cable to utilize the footswitch feature with the pedal, or could you just use an instrument cable? Obviously you have to use specific cables for speaker cabinets, but I don’t know about footswitch cables.
I think anything above 7s started to sound bad for the kind of chugging riff. I think this has it's place but i wonder if the same can be achieved with an EQ pedal.
US buyers can order the Mud Killer here: bit.ly/32qGjpY
that would be $50 shipping for me *cries in german* :(
Chris Wacker
Hey man, they just drop the price of for international shipping cost
we are here once again to eat the japanese man?!
Trey, I always look forward to your videos, and as always I’m not disappointed.
“Tight lows” is the new scooped mids.
I hate when modern tones make tones too “Stiff”
Adam Jones and Trevor Perez like their huge lows just fine and I think it sounds good too.
Well, apart from the fact that tight bottom end is ok, scooped mids aren't.

GRANDE SILAS FERNANDES
The built in channel switch is a genius idea especially for an OD!!
Is that a unique feature? I've never heard of a pedal that does that before...
Fortin 33 has that too
OMFG MR. SILAS \O/, ESTAMOS AQUI MAIS UMA VEZ...
Great tone! I want this pedal!
Why isn’t this channel bigger!?
That's an excellent question
Because they always play generic djent riffs. Please show how versatile those amazing gears are and not just those generic djent riffs.

Got some good tones with the pedal. Great job!
The channel switch is a total copy of the Fortin 33. Best clean boost out there tho.
Great pedal! Thx for the video!
Eletric Eye Audio Rocks!
Aeeee Silas!!
Wheres the link to his channel
Added! Thanks for the reminder
Those kind of pedals are killing it lately
I'll stick with my poorman's combo of a ZW-44 and Nux Drive Core in front and EQ in the loop for better results.
u talk pretty smoothly in this vid , i somehow enjoyed it

Nope, just different settings
So it gets rid of the mud and keeps the dirt, brilliant!!

you can use just an instrument cable for this, two button foot switches will use a TRS cable but this only sends one signal
3:30. that's called the Helix. ;)
You can buy here:www.silascf.com.br/electric-eye-audio
AWESOME!
So basically it's just a Low knob Eq?
I think anything above 7s started to sound bad for the kind of chugging riff. I think this has it's place but i wonder if the same can be achieved with an EQ pedal.
Not at all eqs doenst have overdrive circuit.
It's got that djenty quality to it that I hear from the tone on the first periphery's record. Too bad I don't own any real gear, only plugins :C
I have one of this pedal is really the best one when you need a modern boost. Go buy it. But don’t need to be so extreme settings like this video.
its more like a buzzkiller. or15 itself sounded great enough tho...
This seems excellent but priced high. EDIT: price is lowered now, no complaints!
$150 is crazy low for a pedal with this many features, comparable ones like the Precision Drive are over $200
Gear Gods true, but for a 15 year old metalhead its pretty expensive. Id rather diy it (or a different od/boost, this one would be hard to make)
@@treyxaviermusic I guess the problem is delivery on top for non-USA people.
+£42 for mailing it big yikes
we droped the price 13% - www.silascf.com.br/electric-eye-audio
Nice!
We wouldn’t need devices like this if people would stop down tuning past drop K.
O.R. you serious ? Orange you going to give me that pedal ?
Cool
Take my money
Make sure you have decent pickups first otherwise you screwed no matter what!
I hate it when whooogh whoogh gets all in my chuggy parts.
Seelas
Not Sailas
Ñisssssssssce 🎸
