This video introduces gear ratios for simple gear systems, or simple gear trains. You will learn how to calculate gear ratios from the number of teeth on the input and output gear, as well as how to calculate speeds and torques for the input and output shafts.
Finally you will learn how to calculate efficiency and how to determine the impact that the efficiency has on the output torque.

a whole week's course in just 12 minutes. cant bet that, man! thank you for this.
This was an amazing video. Love stumbling upon videos that have been made so simple to understand.
Sooo simple and easy to understand! Thank you!
Very very very excellent, i have been searching for this since a year
Excellent video and explanation, thank you!
Very nice video well explained and didn't jump into unneccesary steps :)
That's very helpful.. thank you a lot❤️
Great video!
Thank you for the great tutorial
Awesome lesson, thanks for the tutorial...
GREAT VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARE IT WITH US
Thanks a lot, very helpful
Question.
Does the formula, P = (2 * pi* N * T) / 60 , still work if the Torque is given in oz-in instead of newton meters?
And if not how do we amend this?
If anyone knows please reply.
TYSM!!!! you helped me understand this and I have an exam about this tomorrow
Good luck!
Thanks very nice.
Thank You ❤️
thanks !
excellent
Thanks sir
so helpful
where'd you get the 60 from in the equation for power or is it just a constant I shouldn't worry about
its just a constant in this formula
Thanks
Very well explained
Good 👍
Where did the 150 come from?
Its a hypothetical speed, as there is no actual gears here theres not an actual speed so he just made one up
If I have a 13 tooth input gear and a 47 output gear what is my gear ratio?
The GR = 47/13 or approximately 3.615
3.61
GR = 47/13 = 3.62
3.61
You have some errors on your video on Pin..is supposed to be Pout...else,everything is perfect
Great video!
