In this video Paul Andersen explains how the gas pressure is the force applied over the area of the container. It is also the change in momentum as gas molecules interact with the container and is uniform throughout the sample. Several problems including pressure, force and area are included.

Brilliant! A bit High level for my Year 8s but I think we are going to have a go at building your hypothetical Barometers. then test the movement by heating and cooling the jar rather than waiting for air pressure to change. In addition I am thinking we should jam two straws together to exaggerate the movement. Any comments on my ideas would be welcome.
Dear Sir..........Example Problem : I have single acting a cylinder with a bore of 18 mm and a rod of 10 mm and a stroke of 300 mm. I want to know what is the pressure if my cylinder presses 10 mm ........... Please advise and provide a solution with the formula
Your Fan from India..
What a great lecturer
Amazing video. Thanks for helping millions of students!
Not millions just a 75k or less than 100k
how can you have gas pressure without a container?
Assuming that the piston is in a car engine, is that 78N standard pressure when the piston is down, or the pressure of the explosion inside the cylinder?
Great video, but do you have a video that talk about the four variables that describes the state of the atmosphere: pressure, temperature, wind and water??? Thank you :)
Other examples on how to calculate the gas pressure.
Please
Now wondering how to calculate the normal force exerted by a gas pressure on a piston with a very irregular surface, like a mold
Its.... very very.... clear distinct... informative....👌👌👌👌👌👌🙏
concept clear thanks
Thanks for the clear explanation

Thank you
Dear Sir............Example Problem I have a single acting hydraulic cylinder with a stroke of 300 mm, a bore of 18 mm and a rod of 10 mm
if the press weight is 10 mm on the Piston Head what is the pressure.....Please explain the calculations
@Luke Hoogland maybe yess
great sir
how about the pressure inside the balloon? can someone show how
to calculate that?
c'etait tres utile
je pense que le video etait un peu trop informatif pour quelques gens mais, generalement j'ai trouve ca tres bon!
What's the container for our atmospheric pressure?
The Earth's gravity well.
Mark Bowyer are you able to provide support for that claim?
@@robert2real Beyond Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation?
Mark Bowyer Newton's Law was found to be incorrect. Mass does not attract Mass.
From Newton himself, "It is inconceivable that inanimate brute matter should, without the mediation of something else which is not material, operate upon and affect other matter without mutual contact, as it must be, if gravitation in the sense of Epicurus, be essential and inherent in it. And this is one reason why I desired you would not ascribe innate gravity to me. That gravity should be innate, inherent, and essential to matter, so that one body may act upon another at a distance through a vacuum, without the mediation of anything else, by and through which their action and force may be conveyed from one to another, is to me so great an absurdity that I believe no man who has in philosophical matters a competent faculty of thinking can ever fall into it. Gravity must be caused by an agent acting constantly according to certain laws; but whether this agent be material or immaterial, I have left open to the consideration of my readers."
@@robert2real No, it really wasn't. Read that again "Gravity must be caused by an agent acting constantly according to certain laws; but whether this agent be material or immaterial, I have left open to the consideration of my readers"
This was Newton talking about the cause of, not the "non existence" of gravity. Newton's Law still stands at small (solar system) scales. Einstein further refined it. Both Einstein's and Newton's Laws stand and are in use today.
