Thanks Lis, white is amazing. White is in my opinion about nuances, fragile, vulnerability. Would be nice to be able to see where you took it in your artwork. Albert
I love the sensuality and caressing feeling of brushstrokes and this is an interesting illustration of a very square mechanistic feeling as if you have done everything you can to separate breathing, feeling and movement …. Its like Loving gardens where everything is struktured. I love the wilderness, the surprice but as always a fun demonstration of a style and a technique….. 🙃🌸💗
Thanks Lis, I love this style because it looks mental, mechanical and without life but it actually is about building a playground for the sun. Life without light can't exist just as this art-style. Albert
I love this kind of art. In the town I currently live we had an artist named Herbert Zangs. He made minimal white art called "Verweißelungen". He was a contemporary of Joseph Beuys, who also was born in Krefeld. After seeing your video for the first time a week ago, I felt inspired to create 2 pieces of my own interpretation with cartbord. Greetings from Germany.
Thanks, renamitter. I looked op Herbert Zangs, and i liked what he made. There were a lot of artists in that time period. It is very interesting to try for yourself. I hope it was fun to do. Albert
Albert
When I see some of this minimalist art I think I might go to the hardware store and buy for example some plumbing fixtures or a wall vent, paint them white, attach them to a board and call them art. Why not? But honestly I see a lot of packaging materials that have interesting textures and shapes and I think they have potential as art materials, but I’ve never actually made anything from them. Now I might. I love your videos, even though I don’t care for some of the artists you feature. You are very inspiring. Thank you.
Hi Donna, thanks. And yes, I know exactly what you mean. I always see things everywhere to play with. Art is always open for discussion, but also a personal preference. Until now, every time I make a video I learn more about an artist and always appreciate them more. Isn't it like that with anything or anyone? Spend 10 minutes and you can have a new friend. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a happy and healthy day, Albert
Hi Culture Fan, thanks. It's interesting to do. Even if you don't try it, do look for little shadows everywhere, you'll get amazed how interesting it can be. Bye, Albert
Thank you Albert for this inspiring and playful video. I very much enjoy minimalist art including relief art. For years my photography was minimalist. I find minimalism have meditational and therapeutic effect. Thanks for introducing Jan Shoonhoven. I am going to check him and his work out.
Hi Salim, thanks. Yes white is quiet and at the same time it can be so intriguing. A little sunlight and you get incredible shadow effects. Interesting artist. Bye, Albert
This is my favorite of your videos I have watched. The art work and artist are unfamiliar and interesting. Your steps in exploring and discussing his techniques are similar to what I Expereince when learning from replicating or working from someone else’s art. As I get closer to understanding the elements of the techniques, I get better and appreciate the art more. The last piece you did is very interesting.
Hi Suzi, thanks for your long comment. Interesting to hear you experience the same: when you study, you learn more. It feels like falling in love wirh an artist for me 😉. Stay safe, Albert
Hi Geospectrum, thanks. The Dutch 'nul beweging' is the Dutch version of the zero art movement. You can also start at wikipedia: nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nederlandse_Nul-beweging Or nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_(kunst)
I 've never heard of the term 'relief art' but it's such a interest idea having a composition that is made of a sort of 3d structure. Thanks for your videos, there are really inspiring and so fun to watch! 👏👍
Hi Dark N, thanks. Google the term and you recognize reliefs, raised surfaces. It's also described in other words. It's also an interesting way of working with endless possibilities. Thanks for watching and your comment. Bye, Albert
