JP is right. teachers are held to an unreasonably high standard compared to other jobs. i used to post pictures of my stacks of marking with captions like Yay its done. and i got blasted for it and every year's EPMS, it was held against me and that the P is extremely unhappy with me.
@@joyoftessa Fully agreed. Might be a biased opinion, but I think it's crazy how schools have become a structure that basically unnecessarily micromanages everything. Teachers have to worry about students' mental health now (Is this actually part of their job scopes?), and the tiniest details of 'potentially comparing marking stacks', as you've mentioned, are even managed. I recall coming across anecdotes of parents private messaging the teachers (at odd hours) about their children (i.e. school work updates), which is absolutely out of line in my opinion. The students should take responsibility in managing their work, and teachers should not have to worry or manage these unnecessary new expectations set on them. This micromanagement nowadays seriously puts too much stress on the teachers. While there have been news coverage on teachers and their mental health, I also do think it's important to care for the principals too: they too are educators and 'teachers' that have been placed under similar micromanagement expectations and we can't discount their struggles too, though it's easy to blame the direct person managing the teachers. I can't speak for the character of 'the P' mentioned nor do I know how you rationalize the shift in standards and expectations these days, but I nonetheless have empathy for both teachers and principals for their workload and pressures faced.
Not for the sexualized activities in orientation camp. I don't see how that could be a grey area at all. Such a proposal would never be approved by the school management.
