I have had a Seawave for 4-5yrs .. excellent. But it was starting to leak air from this valve .. not any more! followed instructions and 10min later it was back in the boat and no leak. I did run the valve under flowing tap water and I also rotated the valve itself to seat it in a different position.

Thanks for uploading this video. I have a Gumotex Alfonso mk1 & the Ceredi safety valve seems to open at just over 0,1bar. meaning i cant get the floor chamber to full pressure. i have cleaned the valve but no change. Are these valves ever known to be faulty? can they be adjusted ? It's been like this from new but i,ve only recently obtained a pressure gauge to check what's going on.... and probably out of warranty now! Thanks for any advice. PS the boat is fantastic otherwise and great fun just a bit soft in the floor !

@@cherellegrant7439 Hi Cherelle - i ended up ordering a new valve from Ceredi in italy via Ebay - cost me about 20 quid all in. HOWEVER its only marginally better & if i could be bothered i would try the next rated valve up *( according to their colour code ). however the boat is workable as is. . it could of course be my pressure gauge thats wrong but the sides of the boat feel 'right' . what boat do you have ?

@@BadgerLaser thanks that’s helpful, I have just bought a gumotex twist 1 and the sides feel like a ripe orange as per manual, but the floor let’s air through the safety release valve and don’t seem nearly as firm. Do you have any info on the valve you would recommend? Thanks 🙏

@@cherellegrant7439 i have same problem. Before it was worse, I cleaned it and is bit better. Was leaking at 0.05 now holds air up to 0.15 bars. Same italian Ceredi overpressure valve on Safari 330. After taking valve out, cleaning under running water and in full sink as per Gumotex video, didn’t help. Did it twice. Third time I disassembled the valve and cleaned both rubbers and plastics. That didn’t help. I mean it will start pushing air out starting from over 0.15 bars. It should get rid of air after 0.20 bars. Then I disassembled overpressure valve again, cleaned again and tinkered with the locknut. The position of the nut regulates the purge pressure, the more you screw down the higher purge pressure. I noticed if I tightened it down to half I could pump up bottom to 0.18 bars before air will be forced out. But it still leaks from the middle slowly. Floor should hold 0.20 bars. I’ll buy new valve.

Not sure if the O Ring may be an issue. Mine is leaking but doesn’t have an O Ring - maybe I didn’t see it when removing and lost it or it never had one. In the video, when removing at 28 sec, the O Ring is 2/3 up (above thread) but at 34 sec when testing then replacing, the O Ring is at the top. Not sure where the correct spot is?

Hello, a question: are this kind of valves the same of Leafield C7? or D7? that uses AIRE or NRS? thanks

Hi, unfortunately not, they are not the same. The valves we use, you can find here: gumotexboats.com/produkty/?kategorie=ostatni-prislusenstvi

This video instructions will not solve the problem. I've tried it. I have solved the problem with pressure safety relief valve by fully tightening the internal nut. That prevents any air escaping out. This does make the valve not functional but at least the kayak is not leaking air any more.
These valves are huge disappointment. The original one was leaking air so did the replacement. I would not recommend Gumotex/Innova kayaks with those valves (unless you are planning to shut the valve closed like I did) . You need to carry the pump at all times - it's not safe.
