The stamp book brought back so many memories and I’m glad you kept it! My Mom used to collect “S&H green stamps” and put them in a book much like the one you found. When she had enough books that were filled, she’d go to the S&H store and redeem them for a household item like an iron. Love your videos!

I remember my Mom going to the grocery store or getting gas and waiting for those stamps along with her change. Then she would take a damp washcloth to moisten the stamps and paste them in her books.

      Mymothercollected Plaid stamps in 1950s
Which also offered a catalogue of gifts and home stuff
Supermarkets also gave dishes and sets of encyclopedias - but only one per week,so outset was missing volumes
      And banks gave away toasters!

Im trying to get as much meats/perishables from the dumpsters before the warm weather is upon us. Last few weeks I got a 20# spiral ham, chicken cutlets, pork chops, salmon, eggs, butter, oat milk. And, just yesterday, I found bags of chocolate easter eggs and it's not even easter? I've been blessed!! All the home decor stores are locked up or use compactors. Stay safe everyone!

The woman on the silver dollar is Susan B Anthony. Good find on the paper items, little booklets of any kind that is vintage is very collectable. Especially booklets from appliances or cook booklets from old electric kitchen ware is valuable. Glad you recused the book's, they can be donated women's shelters. They like items like toys, games, clothes, because most of their clients come in only the clothes their wearing. Peace hope and love

The woman on the $1 1979 coin is Susan b. Anthony. The suffragette. My grandparents gave us those coins when they came out. It was a big deal at the time. You probably should look all the coins up because if they save those there is probably a reason. I think the Susan b. Anthonys are worth more than a dollar like $1.35 or something like that but I would check on it. Enjoyed the dive.

I "found" you and Alex about a week ago, bad leg so on the couch all day. I've been devouring your videos 10 hrs every day !!!
Was married in 1969, collected S&H green stamps...went to the S&H store and got an orange plethor hassock ( foot stool)...we were so thrilled... we were young and poor and sooo happy...not my taste today😂
Someone has probably already told you. But wooden coat hangers are very sought after... especially if they have a hotel name on them...plain ones for crafters.
As for candles.. when mine don't burn down all the way ,yet i love the scent i put them in the back of my kitchen dish cabinets and bathroom cabinets and the linen closet...etc. Such a delightful surprise ehen you open the cabinet.
I could go on and on but the two of you bring such great joy to myself and all your fans.
Also i am so sorry you lost Pilgrim, i sae a lot of him in old videos, such a love...saw him in the Taco costume , thank you for sharing him with us
Much love and happiness to you both❤

I have always heard the sayings "things are always bigger in Texas", or " things grow bigger in Texas", but the size of that pinecone was really, really huge.😁 About the book of stamps, when I was a child (long time ago now, 😁) we had similiar stamps called S&H green stamps. We would receive the stamps from a grocery store where we shopped, save them up in our stamp books, go to a store in Tallahassee, Florida and get free items for our home. I have not thought about the green stamps for many years. Thanks for jogging this old ladies memory. Also, glad you found that money!

Back in the 1950s and 60s there were different types of stamps according to where you lived in the US. The main branch of stamps were S&H green stamps, but there was also plaid stamps, different stamps for different grocery stores and you would gather up all your stamps and put them in the book (like what you found). You would get a catalog and you might be able to get things from this page for one book of stamps. This page would be things for two books of stamps, etc. I purchased my silverware using S&H green stamps and it's very nice . I got it one serving place at a time.

Hi! Hey One Dollar coins are often collectible. You should look those up. You can find some Susan B. Anthony coins (in mint condition of course) for sale up to $1000. American Eagle in MINT up to $36.00. I have saved every Susan B. Anthony coin I get...I think I have 6. If nothing else, someday maybe I'll have to use for an emergency. If I knew their value I may have kept them nicer than just in a little container in a drawer LOL. Ok back to your video. PS. I saw Alex throw away a bubble wrap envelope. I save those and have friends save them for me. I love to re-use them either for storage wrapping or for shipping. I just use a clorox wipe to wipe off and then I pull all labels stickers off I can carefully. I have a box full now and I love it.
