I went to a trade school in high school as a back up plan if college didn’t work out. I can truthfully say the first time I struck an arc I fell in love, and I can also say I’m extremely blessed because of welding. After high school I went to college and played football for a year to only realize I couldn’t afford another year. I came home got a job welding and now I make more then teachers I had in school. I’m 19 and making 34/hr. The trades are dying, it’s our responsibility to save them. College isn’t the answer. The market for jobs with degrees are saturated and having 100k debt for a piece of paper is crazy. All in all great video.

I started welding in highschool cause my uncle suggested it and the school was offering a free program. I didn't take it serious the first year but I went back a second year, and that's when I was first introduced to open root welding and I fell in love with it. But since I didn't take it serious that first year, the second year went by and I didn't finish. Two years later I'm back in welding school at a community college, I had to restart but what took me 2yrs to do, I surpassed in 7 months. And by what my instructors say I'm good at it

As a 6g coded tig welder in the medical/science r&d fabricating vacuum/pressure vessels trade here in the UK it is very refreshing to see young men getting dirty and working hard to achieve their goals across the globe. Welding is a dying trade in the uk with the youths preferring to sit at a desk with polished shoes and pressed shirts. Well done for promoting welding and great videos as always weldtube.

I took at pre apprenticeship at 29, I had never worked in an industry that even had a tape measure! I am 33 now, 4 years of experience 3 technical training periods (2 months each) making 120k CAN repairing mining equipment, after 1000 more hours and I am considered a Journeyman Red seal. My rate then will be 150k CAN. not too bad.

Practice practice practice boys and girls. I would say to pick a process you love (MIG,TIG,SMAW,DUAL) and stick with it. Get good at making a resume, there's lots of apps for it, and just submit that thing all over the place. The wider the net you spread, the more likely you'll catch a big fish. Learn and listen to the old timers, and practice with diligence. Remember that fuck ups happen, but it's not really a fuck up if you LEARN from it. Good luck everyone, see you out there and BE SAFE.

You don't need Tulsa welding school to find a job if you have the skills apply for a job through Indeed.

I found a Welding/fitter trainee position in Portland, OR that requires no experience. Only requirement is to be at least 18 and have an excitement towards welding.
Check out Glassdoor, Indeed, Zip Recruiter, and your local Worksource. There are so many positions to be filled. If you got the experience you shouldn’t have any issue finding a job.

Stick with it. There are young pipeliners out there clearing 6 figures in 9 months. Thats doctors wages. Just make sure and bank it away and have a trusted accountant or your wife look after your moneys.

I love welding just started but its not worth it in ROmania where i live, 350$/month pay as beginner, some of you making 20$/hour right off the weld school, fucking ridiculous.
Very few to no young people go into this field where i live, there is shortage of 1mil workers in trades jobs, its impossible to make a living, feels like africa or india here.
