I'll never forget seeing The Posies perform an acoustic set at the opening day for The Knitting Factory in Hollywood on August 11, 2000! They just kept playing and playing!
The Posies are at their absolute best when it's just Jon and Ken acoustic. If you ever get the chance to see them acoustic (assuming concerts are ever a thing again), I highly recommend it.
When I was back in college at the University of Idaho... The Posies were playing a show... my friend was a DJ on the campus radio station and interviewed them for the radio show... he asked them off-air that he was having a party later on and if they would come by... they said "yes" believing they would not show... they did show up! The party was lame... they got a few beers at the keg... talked to a few people... then drew a few things on the whiteboard in the kitchen and signed their names and left... such a strange experience =)
I remember my pal was a DJ at his Uni, he sent me mixtapes from bands he discovered, Side A American Side B British .This was on one compilation along side Manics, Elastica, and it changed my entired sonic landscape. I even was inspired to pick up the guitar.
Way too talented to have ever made it big. This is how you know the music industry is entirely fixed. Just like Matt of quantum of conscience says, everyone successful has gone under the dragon wing. Thank you for not selling out. Too bad incredible talent is rarely financially rewarded.
This band is so underrated, they were surely one of the greatest rock bands of the 1990's
You know you've written a killer solo section when it rocks just as hard with no electricity. Awesome performance.
makes me cry, the modulation's so beautiful 🥲🥲
Right after he sang "I won't breath a word" a tear finally jumped out of my eye
I (FINALLY) got to see them on the frosting on the beater 25th anniversary tour. They are phenomenal. They really should have been far far bigger.

I was 20 yo in ‘93. Great times.
Never thought I would hear another vocal blend as precise as Allan Clarke and Graham Nash of The Hollies until I heard Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow.
This is even more gorgeous than the album version. Incredibly talented people.

Get their rare live acoustic album
@@tweedpenguin712 elaborate more on that album please
Very very tough to find any Posies footage on TV. The best VHS tape of 2018 for me, thanks!

Thx for uploading this gem 💎!
Sublime
No. The Posies.
Thanks for the upload!
If the viewer adjusts the EQ at their end, this sounds very good--the tape itself is not bad!
These guys know how to sing
that feel when they breathe really loud...

Glory. If you have any other old Posies stuff, please upload.
Is there any “I’m a black person but…” comment here?
No?
No black person has been here?
No black person has soiled this heavenly body?
Okay.
Phew…
I think the tuning of this version is :
Eb Bb Eb Ab C F but a little bit higher
@Christian Williams your welcome :)
Agree, or just Drop D and capo at the first fret, but indeed it's slightly off-centre in its tuning. Must have played with the Hertz
Awesome pure folk/country band!
shhhhhhhh
Ken should not have been thrown under a bus.
X
Nice band, maybe with an cultstatus.
Brilliance! But there’s no forgiving that haircut tho
Todos no grunge
Very adept guitar but I don't think the unplugged genre was their forte
fucking brilliant
