Low tier is a fun romp in its own right. Honestly, one of the best things about a new tech tree is starting again with such fun little kites. A good review, and it is hard to visualize this a 1930s airplane. Such was the pace of development.
Well being from Spain, lot of those little kites were legit state of the art combat aircraft during the Civil War, and War Thunder is one of the few places you can fly them.
Awesome! A low tier plane review, and a rare version at that... A small correction. This, and the other low tier minor regular tech tree aircraft (He 51 C-1/L, SB 2Ms, Yer-2 TATs, Gladiators, & Ki-10-IIC) that got removed (deemed redundant by Gaijin, or in the case of the Italians in the German tree got their own tech tree), have never been released another time. The exceptions are: 1. Po-2, due to its cult status and now available yearly in the Halloween event. 2. Gladiator Mk.IIS (S for silver camo maybe..., there is a Mk.IIF with F apparently standing for French camo) that was available once during the Feb-2015 Gladiator Glory event, after it had been removed during WT CBT due to the Hawker Furys/Nimrods replacing it as reserve vehicle. 3. (well a bit different situation here) OS2Us were available as standard tech tree aircraft, then got removed for a while, until returning again as standard tech tree vehicles with the caveat of having to obtain a ship >= rank II. I've been really focussed on keeping track of when all those FOMO vehicles have been available and how. Still might've missed some occasions, though overall think I have 95% of occasions and vehicles covered.
Start off strong with Japan. Twist and turn like a hornet, but you don't sting like one. Those 7.7mm machineguns will haunt you until the mass implementation of 12.7mm and 20mm.
Liking and commenting to game the algorithm. I actually have this plane in my lineup, wasn't aware it was rare. Was going back and spading all the low tiers and had some fun flying this of all the Ki-10s.
By the way Tim, apparently the "C" in the designation of the Ki-10's stands for "Commander", in reference of being the planes of specific Chutai leaders, not Kai, therefore the plane is not meant to represent the Kai prototypes and has a correct model. Generally speaking the "c" in several Japanese short designations in WT stands for "Hei" and they are both used interchangably without rhyme and reason (see A6M6c vs A6M5 Hei), so deffinitively an understandable mistake 😅
Yes, I knew (or at least very strongly suspected) that it was the "commander's" plane. I mentioned the Kai simply because its VERY unlikely I'll do another Ki-10 review and it was the most advanced derivative. 99% of the time, things like that which I leave out are just to save time. Sometimes a particular detail - like what exactly the difference was between the planes that Japanese unit commanders got compared to regular squadron members - isn't super important to how it applies in WT, but getting into it would add another 2-3 minutes to the first segment and push the video longer than I prefer for my format. I usually have to paraphrase quite a bit. An example, in my video I posted about the Maus yesterday, I made a passing reference to the captured prototype being a mashup mostly just because I wanted to head off the 20 or 30 "Actually..." comments I knew I'd get about how the prototype the Soviets captured was a mashup of parts from 2 prototypes, but getting into that topic would have just taken too long and wasn't really relevant to the general history of the tank explaining why the Maus is the way it is. TLDR - Yes, I knew.
While people tend to say that the Ki-61 in-line engine and European influenced design were outliers, truth to be told, they were what Kawasaki was specialized at, after all Richard Vogt lead the company for years and his sucessor Takeo Doi followed on his footsteps. The Ki-10 even has a licensed produced german engine too.
Love the old Ki-10s, II-c or otherwise. It's a very nice dogfighter and handles quite well without sacrificing on the engine performance too much. The Japanese 7.7mm machine guns are a little better than much of the community gives them credit for and you can rack up a good few kills in either Air AB or Air RB with little difficulty. Still, back in the day it was very vulnerable to defensive fire from bombers.
Hi Tim, this is related to your most recent YT post: "Hi Tim, I love your channel and I watch every video you upload. I can give you a recommendation to have a good boost. Try to create YTshorts by taking for example pieces of the review videos where you make the conclusion, or the history part of the video. This isn't that much of an effort but it is really worth it because of the fact that the YT algorithm really boost YTshorts"
This is actually a great idea. He can add something like "watch the full video here" and he will get even more views if he catches the viewers attention
I experimented with shorts last year. For reasons too complicated to get into, its not something I'm going to be doing again and I took them down. The TLDR is that the traffic that shorts brings onto the channel - the types of viewers - absolutely crushes the metrics on the type of longer form content I normally produce - a shorts subscriber watches basically zero long-form vids (the spillover is under 1% even with a plug) and a sub who never watches longform vids counts as a zero into the average of CTR and all that stuff. I may create a dedicated shorts channel at some point, but THIS channel isn't going to be posting shorts anytime soon. Plus vertical aspect ratio is awful for gaming content, but thats a whole other thing.
You don't actually tear a enemy plane apart when you're shooting at enemies but simply weighing the enemy plane down with enough bullets till eventually they become too heavy to fly
i didn't know you did lowtier planes too. i remember my favourite lowtier being the G.50 in italy. don't remember much about it though do you have any opinions on the I-15 series of planes? the 20mm one is pretty funny
I think it would be nice if you did a series of videos reviewing reserve tier vehicles. It would help many players to decide which nation to start with.
I have a series/playlist on my channel for "low tier fun tier!" where I give my pick for a rank 1 arcade battle lineup choosing one plane of each type, plus a premium. A good reminder that I need to finish the series :-)
Would love the lansen videos remade, especialy now since the j32A no longer gets an airspawn, both lansens are incredibly underrated and are extremely good if used right. I often get 3-5 kill games in the 9.3 lansen even at full uptiers, and the 9.0 lansen can also hold its own pretty well!
They're on the list for a revisit, probably sometime this year. In fact, I'm planning to remake most of my first 20 or so reviews at some point, as my format is (I think, anyway) much better now and some of the planes have changed significantly both their specs/weapons and now they play in the meta.
Oh this won't be the last, but I try to spread them out. Vids about lower tier planes get less than half the views as higher tier stuff, which is pretty unfortunate.
Nice, sick and tired of everybody only reviewing and playing the newest and shiniest toys, fully spaded of course with GE. More low and midtier stuff please, even though i am way past that in my trees.
Ah, yes, the first helicopter in War Thunder.
Im so happy you review stuff like this as well. Im burnt out on the meta vehicles algorithm
P-26 review when

I frequently go back to like, Rank 2 or 3, for an hour or so just to get some time in with basic ACM fights and stuff.

Low tier is fun because it's so arcade-y. I love the P-36 and the Ki-43.

Well i never expected a Ki-10 review lol, still a nice video as always :)

Hell yeah babyy 2:30 am tims variety Time
Once again, I have very insightful ideas to share with everyone about the video before the video has been out for less than its runtime.
Same buddy. Same
Lovely
This is great. I love these quirky and rare stuff. Cheers!
Cool review, would be cool if you did some on the better reserves in game like the P-26A M24 and the I-15 WR

@@TimsVariety I have never done any real content on TH-cam(just Sh1tposts) so I can't know. I love your videos and hope everything good for you
I love lowtier
Good video Tim keep it up gamer
You don't actually tear a enemy plane apart when you're shooting at enemies but simply weighing the enemy plane down with enough bullets till eventually they become too heavy to fly
thank you for another great video!
45 degree angle goes brrrrr

As for the I-15 - I love them. 👍

Can you review Yak-9B in soviet tree? I think it is the best CAS plane for low tier Russia.
This thing turn around one pixel 😂

Nice loftier biplane like to see similar planes of other nations
The good ol helicopter
Excellent choice. I've had enough of toptier jet wonders.
speaking of biplanes, what about the italian premium one? (dont recall its name but its the free one everyone gets)
I'd love to see more low tier reviews.

@@TimsVariety That's very unfortunate.
You should consider doing one of these for the f6f-5n

what about kamikaze tactics?
Yeaaa finally I am first. But any way , Tim your videos are always the best

Im sure I'll get to it eventually.
